@enurajayamanne4051 Andrew Ridgley helped write the song. I wonder why they changed it from Wham, to just George Michael. When clearly it was on a Wham album and not his solo stuff.
One of the best singer songwriters of the last 50 years, his albums Faith, Listen without Prejudice and especially Older are classics, he had a truly great voice, he was such a generous man giving away money all his life, he passed away on Christmas day, he just lay down and died aged just 53....he is much missed...
Don’t forget the albumPatience . When it was released, it was the fastest selling album of the year. It had some beautiful songs, and George’s voice was totally on par.
Careless Whisper remains a great song that stands the test of time. On another matter, George Michael was very generous with his time and wealth. A lot of stories came out after he passed. RIP.
Hi Guys greetings from England 🇬🇧 Geoge Michael was a huge international singer and an English iconic singer who sadly and tragically passed away far too early. George was an exceptionally talented singer and you should check out George as lead singer with" QUEEN " singing SOMEBODY TO LOVE as a tribute to the late Freddie Mercury and this was George at his absolute best and it was an outstanding performance and so worth watching as his vocals are superb and you Guys will love this.
This song is credited as "Wham!" It came out in late 1984, and became the #1 song of 1985 in the USA. The sax riff is one of the most recognized in music history!!! There are some songs on George Michael's "Faith" album that are absolutely essential! They are "Faith," "Father Figure" and "One More Try." That album had SIX top 5 hits, including FOUR #1 hits! There are also some Wham! classics, like "Everything She Wants," Freedom" and "A Different Corner."
It was only credited as Wham in the USA I think, everywhere else it was a George solo record, the same with A Different Corner. Also in the UK, Listen without Prejudice and Older albums sold more than Faith
I wouldn't be familiar with the music they grew up listening to, either. I haven't listened to modern music in over 20 years. I do hear a few here and there -- like on Instagram -- that I like, but I don't actively seek it out.
@@sallyphillips9175 Same here. I'm 25, but have never kept up with modern music. Anything younger than 20 years on my playlist is what I heard on the radio, in passing.

George Michael - this brilliant genius. He was able to make you cry with his voice. After 54 years of life, I don't know anyone who has impressed me as deeply and accompanied me through my life as George Michael. I still can't understand that he is dead: I still can't believe that he won't write any more music. Even though George never just wrote songs. George wrote music history. With every song, with every line, with every vocal. When I hear him today, I cry quietly. With joy at being able to experience it, with pain at not being able to experience it anymore and with happiness that he is more modern than ever.
Different Corner is a stunning vocal performance. George was a brilliant songwriter and performer and as a red blooded male, he was a damned good looking guy
George Michael was huge in the 80's alongside Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna. He was a musical genius. It wasn't recorded at the time, but this was written when he was 17 years old. Mind blowing!
This is probaly one if the most played songs from the 80s ever and still gets airplay today 40 years since its release. Amazing artist and very sorely missed.
George was a music icon. George was one of the most talented singer and songwriterr ever. One of my favorite is 'One more try' official video. I believe that most of his songs were very close to his real life experiences.
George wrote this when a teenager. Also added his longtime school friend and musician in Wham! Andrew Ridgley to the credits so he could receive royalties as well especially after George died.
Made me laugh when Philip said that. "Guilty *feelings* got no rhythm" is how I've always heard it, and it's how the line will always go in my head, even if it's wrong. Guilty "feet"? What? What exactly was he doing with his feet to make their guilt stand out? 😂.
@@cassianfalkener3706in the following line GM sings about "dancing a life together ", but they can't anymore because one has cheated on the other one, so the rhythm has gone, and the feet are guilty.
The Mount Rushmore of 80’s music was Prince, Madonna, Michael Jackson and George Michael. That’s how big he was. His group Wham! was massive and then his solo album Faith was a huge hit.
George Michael was truly one of the greatest singer/songwriters of his generation. Most artists with that many hits are doing songs written by others, but he wrote them all. As a teen in the 80’s I remember how he was absolutely everywhere on the radio. Glad I got to see him live once back then.
george michael was one the best to ever perform on stage and this one my favorites song of his wish he was still around rest in peace your music will live forever.
He was the creative head of Wham! "Everything She Wants" and "I´m Your Man" are my favorite songs of the Group. From his slow solo stuff I would recommend Father Figure (MTV unplugged) and One More Try (Concert of Hope). These are probably the best known, but "Kissing A Fool" is my favorite. Alongside "Faith", "Freedom'90" and "Fast Love", "Spinning The Wheel" is absolutely worth listening to.
I think this was also in Miami Vice (80's TV series)like so many other songs of the time. This was in alll the clubs back then. Even a rocker like me liked it, just so well done.

You guys are in for a treat. George Michael is PURE gold. His live performances are better than his studio albums. Can't go wrong with anything this guy did.
One of the greatest voices of the last 40 years. He sold over 100 million albums in his lifetime, and keeps selling. Great duets with Elton John ("Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me") and Aretha Franklin ("Knew You Were Waiting For Me"). Solo Songs incl. "Freedom 90", "Jesus to a Child", "Father Figure", "Faith".
