It wasn't the song that he said he didn't like - it was the original recording, produced by Jerry Wexler in 1983 at Muscle Shoals studio. It was completed (it's on youtube) but George decided not to use it and then recorded it again and produced it himself.
George Michael was such a talent that was taken from us far too early. From his Wham! days to his solo career he has a back catalogue well worth delving into.
Best slow/Dance song ever made. I was young in the 70' - 80'ties and have been dancing a lot of time, like a lot, to that song with a girl in my armes. Love it.
You have just reacted for the first time to the greatest singer songwriter of his generation in my humble opinion! You have so much amazing music of his to look forward to! Take care!
🎼❣️🎼 .. so , I really don't like being the old guy that says "your generation doesn't have the same talent we did". Well .. I am 58 years old , and your generation does not have the same talent we did. George wrote this song when he was just a teenager. I will let your other followers tell you about his amazing life. He is more than just a good singer , he may be the best pop singer of all time , when it comes to men. Please react to more of his great music. I will recommend this one ..... "A Different Corner" , you will like it. Be well Rere, keep these great songs coming. 🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️🕊️
Another song of his that I really enjoy is “Praying for Time”. As someone who has cancer, the title really hits home and the song is beautifully written and performed ❤
Recommend George Michael - A Different Corner (Live on NBC Parkinson Show)with band and back singer ladies, about 10 years after this. It's the song playing at end of documentary of him after he passed. It's how I remember him, didn't know the song before, now my favorite of him. It's what who made documentary of him that loved him picked to play while showing him on screen while in prime. You're he cutest 21 yrs old I've seen...a compliment, I'm 37.
Jesus to a child! I deeply recommend and look at the back story to his writing it. I loved George Michael, shame he is getting forgotten about but generations move on ….
Being into Hard Rock,,, was not a Wham fan but have to say when George put out ONE MORE TRY that's when I listened!! So. There you go Ree! How about One More Try?? 🥺☮️♾️🕊️
Would'nt say I'm his greatest fan, but there's no doubting his Talent. Everyone of any age will know his most played hit in Britain, "Last Christmas " by Wham, which is played non-stop in the UK from now till January. After his sad death, it was discovered that he gave away vast amounts of money to various worthy causes, all without any publicity. A good man, for sure.
In one of your Bee Gees reactions, you said that your favorite artists so far are the Bee Gees and Queen. Well, now that you like George Michael and want to dig deeper into his voice and songs... "Somebody To Love" with Queen is an absolute must!! It's epic ❤
George Michael: 'FAITH', 'FREEDOM' & 'HEAL THE PAIN'. And for the record: been married 30 years and would never ever think of cheating. Not in my DNA and surely many other men are the same way! it's never ok. But it sure makes for good music!
That's a "double standard" "cheating" is "cheating," and no matter if you're a man or a woman, it's wrong to "cheat" because it's the ultimate betrayal of TRUST!!! And I loved what you said, I will never cheat on anyone no matter what!!! That's the right mentality to have!!! I applaud you for being loyal & faithful in your heart!!!
The straightest lovesong by a gay man ever song. I loved his music nearly 40 years. Our Austrian Doctors saved him from dying by a lung infaction. 9 month later he killed himself on depression. Big lost for not only the music industry, but for humanity. RIP Georgios!
In my not very short life, I'm pretty sure I've heard more stories of girlfriends cheating on their boyfriends, than the other way around. There is nothing in the male psyche that makes us think cheating is okay.
New subscriber here - I think GM is/was one of the best voices of the 80's. Highly recommend watching the live concert version of him and Elton John "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" - and, any and all Pink Floyd songs!
Is it the same song by the band Bread from the 70's? That would make it a Bread cover if so. Making his voice like Butter 😁 Now I have to look up this song. ☮️
Some males.... lovely. You shouldn't judge yet..too many years ahead of you🙃 Being a musician, you simply have to delve into George's songs..he was a master...up there with our finest..Barry Gibb, Sting, Lennon/McCartney etc.. Two albums deserve your full attention...'Listen without prejudice'...'Older'...when you've rinsed these two classics.. you're an expert😄 Keep smiling beautiful x
First of all, NEVER say never girl, you don’t know tomorrow! And second of all, Seether did a kick-ass Rock cover of this song, which singer Shaun Morgan used a bit as an apology to his former girlfriend Amy Lee (yes, the beautiful singer from Evanescence) as he „cheated“ on her with drugs and alcohol, until she was sick of it and left him. But before that they also did an amazing track together called „Broken“ which is a definite worthy of a reaction for you!
I am really surprised by looking at all of the suggested songs that not one person suggested the best song that he did with Elton John, which was don’t let the sun go down on me. You need to look at that and hear that I think it’s the best song that he ever did, it will give you goosebumps.
Golden voice 😊… there is a reason why he’s part of the Great4 (Michael Jackson, Freddy Mercury, Elvis Presley ánd George Michael)… the 4 best singers that ever lived on this planet…!
Speaking as a male who has been married for over 50 years, I have never cheated on my wife or anyone whom I dated before I was married. You must remember before saying that males think it is alright to cheat, that it takes a woman who is willing to go out with a married man or a man who is in a relationship. I have been cheated on several times, and I know the pain first hand.
Agreed. Commitment (or lack of) is a choice. Men can be loyal partners, so can women. Men can be cheaters, so can women. I have been cheated on by committed partners too. And, to me, that's a deal breaker. I can forgive and I did, but that doesn't mean the trust isn't broken.
I have been married to my second wife for 40 years and never cheated, which includes several years in the Philippines were cheating was not only cheap and easy but even expected. But my first wife left me for another man, so I too know that pain first hand.
Men cant cheat on a woman according to the Bible and Koran. Men can only cheat on The Most High by sleeping with a married woman. According to scripture there is absolutely nothing against scripture with man having multiple relationships to more than one woman, long as none of the women are married. Only women can cheat on man and The Most High by sleeping with a man other than her husband. This reactor understands the dynamics of being with a man of The Most High. A man will only feel guilty if he is lying to a woman. She has the choice option to stay or go.
Not only is the saxophone part one of the top 5 sax parts of all time, together with "Baker Street" etc. It has basically become a meme of its own at this point.
The point of writing songs like this is to make you care. If he does all good things, do you care? It makes for a better story this way. In the end its a music video. Songs for the future, I WANT YOUR SEX, EVERYTHING SHE DOES, and his hit as part of the duo known as WHAM! called WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO-GO. Keep going and enjoy the music.
The song is inspired by a story the singer experienced when he was sixteen. While he was in a relationship with a girl named Helen Talkin, he was also in a second relationship with a girl named Jane. In Careless Whisper, George Michael imagines that Helen is aware of his infidelity, even though she has never actually known about it.
Although George Michael sings this song. When this song was released. It was under Wham on their 2nd album. Not George Michael. Wham is formed by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley.
Back in the 80s when this song was a big hit I didn't know who George Michael was - had no idea that he was gay. Even while watching this video back then I had no idea...I was in a club dancing with a woman to this song...afterwards I said something about hot women must be crazy about him....she looked at me all weird like and she snickered and said are you kidding? HE's GAY! ...I had no idea before that. Looking at this video today I see it. His gayness is written all over him...seems obvious now. Back in the day there was a LOT for me to learn about the real world...Homosexual men just were not on my "radar" then.
Hi! According to Google this was his biggest hit spanning 20 countries. I thought it would be ONE MORE TRY!? The song that actually grabbed my Hard Rock ears or even FAITH?? ☮️😎🎸
Every one is tempted at some point in their life to cheat, but few people have the power to resist the temptation. Oscar Wilde once said (I can resist every thing but temptation). A rather funny statement lol. 😁
Did you notice the pretty models in this. Though he was playing bi here he ended up living a gay lifestyle. But as far as women in his videos they were the most Georgie’s women in the world. He had a connection to the model industry. In fact when he was on the outs with his studio and producers not getting credit for the songs he wrote or albums he produced, he produced a song music video without himself in it but with only famous Hugh fashion female models. You’ll find George out himself in his music. Originally thought with whams early music as bubble gum music that he was very indebt with his lyrics, he has duos. Too.
Michael conceived the concept while in his teens, and was inspired by his own love life and two-timing. This was over a period of time. Later, he and Andrew still teens (18), finished it. It’s officially credited two ways; to Michael and Andrew with Wham, and Michael solo.
Your accent suggests your Brit. How don't you know one of your own greatest musicians? BTW, love how you move both your beautiful eyes in sycn together like that.
It is quite adorable when people think musicians regularly write songs using their personal stories. Neither Tom Jones nor Barry Mason killed a girl named Delilah. 😄
Haha, another one where you react to the video as well as the song. This is an odd one because it was a track on a Wham! album as well as being a solo single for George. It is also one of those songs where its appeal arises from a broader take on what a "Careless Whisper" might mean. As your brother said with Roxanne by The Police, whilst it was specifically about a man pleading for his girlfriend not to go out and be a prostitute, you could relate to the song if you've ever had a time pleading with a partner not to do something, especially if it was bad or wrong or unlawful. So here, the Careless Whisper might be relatable to someone who said something wrong, or when drunk, or just plain stupid, and ruined a relationship as a consequence. With regard to George, he is someone else it might be an idea to go through chronologically with his music. He initially thought he was bi before realising he was gay, so with Wham! and also when he was solo, he and his label were playing on his attractiveness to women. His 1987 album, Faith, is riddled with songs and videos that play up to that image, and there are some great tracks on that album. Faith and Father Figure in particular. But come 1990, he and his label were at odds over his contract and George did not appear in the video for Freedom! 90. If you listen to the lyrics of that song, as well as see some of the imagery in the video, it hints at concerns he has of his image, which is suggestive of a concern about his sexuality. This is then again hinted at by his duetting with Elton John, who had been a closet homosexual, who came out as Bi in the mid 70s, and even had a wife for a time, but who was 'out' as gay by before 1991. That was when I guessed the truth about George, as I suspect a fair few others did. He was famously outed by the LA Police, for his behaviour in a toilet, a few years afterwards. If you look at George's musical output as a solo artist against that background, it becomes all the more fascinating. But any which way, George Michael was a great singer-songwriter, and was gone too soon.
George Michael is a wonderful musical rabbit hole to go down
One of the best male voices ever he left us too soon .
He was from your neck of the woods a Brit .
RIP . George Michael.
A Brit by choice no doubt. I must point out he was Greek. Doesn't matter he was a gift from God. I point out his heritage because I'm Greek.
@Cynnister-vy5tl Greek-Cypriot .
And yes the man had a gift from God his voice was amazing .
So sad he left us so soon.
Awww the 80’s! Nothing quite touches them except for the 70’s✌🏻😎
The one and only George Michael with one of his very best songs.
He said he wrote this song when he was 17, but he didn’t like it. The song turned out to be his most successful single of his career.
It wasn't the song that he said he didn't like - it was the original recording, produced by Jerry Wexler in 1983 at Muscle Shoals studio. It was completed (it's on youtube) but George decided not to use it and then recorded it again and produced it himself.
@@paultaylor9498 not true George Michael said he wrote it with him because he wanted to give Andrew some credit

Great song in the 80s and still is. Love it.
George Michael is one of the very best. A brilliant starting point is 'Everything She Wants'
One of the greatest that have ever lived.
George Michael was such a talent that was taken from us far too early. From his Wham! days to his solo career he has a back catalogue well worth delving into.
He wrote this around 1980-81, when he was 17/18. He was gay but hadn't come out to anyone other than a few best friends. Amazing vocalist. RIP George.
George Michael's Kissing a Fool, is imo one of the best songs ever written.
I went to George Michael’s grave on my birthday 12/8/23. He’s been my favorite singer for my whole life. ❤
Best slow/Dance song ever made. I was young in the 70' - 80'ties and have been dancing a lot of time, like a lot, to that song with a girl in my armes. Love it.
My favourite George Michael song. I had such a crush on him when I was in my teens.
Kissing a fool, freedom 90, cowboys and angels, praying for time, fastlove, spinning the wheel

“Praying For Time”. One of his best IMO!
Kissing A Fool is another beautiful song from George Michael 🎹🎵
A fav song by George Michael, 1984. Takes me back to moving to CA Bay area, with a new job, after college. All was new. Tech was booming.

What a voice and that Spanish guitar just set the whole thing off.😊

Try "Killer/Papa was a Rolling Stone - live" by George Michael
It just hit me that he is a true tenor, and his singing is in the same register as the tenor sax hook.
I fell in love with George Michael when I saw him sing this on mtv.
If you want to discover more of him, check out his live performances. For example the MTV Unplugged concert: Freedom'90, Fastlove or Father Figure.
