This was one of the most impacting victim statements. His anger is visceral and sadness palpable. Dr. Alhadeff, I hope this process eventually helps you heal. Your daughter is beautiful and is blessed to have such a strong father that has sidelined his grief to help his family move forward.

This recurrent tragedy across the country is beyond comprehension. You bring your children into this world full of expectations and dreams. You raise them and send them to school where they are supposed to be safe, but they don't come back home because a total stranger decided to end their lives. That makes not sense whatsoever.

I've watched most of the testimonials from this trial, and this is by far the most emotional. I can't watch it without tearing up. The rage and sadness burst through the screen. Sorry for your loss Sir.

When he says “she was right where she was supposed to be.” There are so many kids skipping school, prioritizing other things. She wasn’t one of them and she’s been done a huge injustice for doing what kids are supposed to be doing. 2015! It’s been 6-7 years and NIck Cruz is still sitting there with that pathetic, stupid, fake empathetic look on his face while he doodles in a notebook and covers his eyes and ears like the kids he terrorized. He’s so lucky the American justice system has more sympathy then he did because I could think of very many punishments for him that may seem “cruel and unusual.” You caused all this how dare you act like a victim 🤢💔 even his lawyer cried during statements. The only time I’ve seen real emotion from him is embarrassment from having his rejection texts read in court.

    The five stages of grief:
    denial, anger, bargaining, depression, acceptance
After 4 years, he's only at 2....how deep his pain must be.
I was on a beach once and lost my daughter for 5 minutes (she was 4 years old) - I've never before, nor since felt pain like that.

The stages are not necessarily in order. You can bounce back and forth between them. As well as, triggering back to certain stages.

Schools are "gun free" zones - all the teachers should be armed, or at least a fair percentage. Threatening people with something to lose (like a felony) for carrying a gun on campus ensures there will be zero good guys with a gun. It also ensures that any maniac with a death-wish will stroll right passed that damn sign and murder everyone.

    • @sqrlmonger
      @sqrlmonger Год назад +5

It was a gun free zone smart guy. Which is literally just a "no law abiding citizens with a gun can help you when the bad guy shows up to murder you" zone.
You probably think a law would have stopped this. As if murder wasn't already illegal. FFS

I have to be honest, there is something incredibly disturbing about this man and his impact statement. First I must say that I can’t imagine the horror that this man and his family live through every day. This comment in no way is an attempt to diminish his or his family’s pain. I consider myself one of the luckiest people in the world when my son comes home at night, finishing his college degree while I watch him and his girlfriend make plans for both of their futures. He’s intelligent, kind, witty and I thank god every day that he is healthy and safe. So for this man’s loss, I feel worse then words can describe.
But this statement gets a little weird and feels as if it becomes his dream not hers. Immediately he mentions that she was going to become a professional soccer player and a hugely successful lawyer. Just achieving one of those goals are almost impossible but both? This is something my 4 year old niece might tell me she’s going to be. Why not say she’s also going to be a princess?
Then she’s going to have 4 kids with two homes? She was going to be a model mother just in the off-season of her soccer career or the week between her high profile cases she would be prosecuting?
He then speaks of how difficult this was on her grandparents even losing one of them just a year later. Once again this is compelling, heart breaking information. I feel terrible for her grandparents as most people know that grand parents, grandchildren relationships are often quite special.
But then again his next 3 minutes or so are spent talking about his wife and himself hurting so badly that although the tragedy was 4 years ago it feels like yesterday. Which makes me think that how terrible you feel, and it being warranted, you have other children. Children look to their parents for cues on how to act, how to behave. When you say that you are now just fueled by anger, what do you think your other children see and feel? You can’t give them permission to be stuck with the same emotions 4 years later.
And while I do I sympathize with any parent who has lost a child, he seems to think he’s cornered the market on grief and anger. There were so many people in that court room suffering, there are so many people on his street struggling with and trying to deal with pain. I hope that he can work through his grief as much as he can, and show his other children that everyone gets knocked down. What defines you is if you get up and fight again tomorrow. He should have found a professional and started speaking to that person immediately. That clearly didn’t happen, but it’s never too late. Going through your life angry is so unproductive. I’m genuinely rooting for this man and his family.

Well since we’re being honest the murder could have made this man a lot less spoiled a long with the other families. After the murder they became more determined to make school safer. If this massacre didn’t happen they would have probably been lazy preppy people even taking advantage of their own children. I know it’s harsh and the murder was wrong but I agree with you and the behavior they shown in the court I agree they are completely selfish people including the families of the murdered victims. However it’s our human nature to be selfish it helps us survive longer. We are all selfish to some degree no matter how much people will deny it.
