Well done! I watched your video to get my head back in the game. One of the most professional "shady tree" demonstrations I've seen, here. The coolant flush/add system by OEM Tools is certainly on my radar, now. I like the idea of being able to watch the level above the radiator and not have to worry about a messy dismount, afterwards. For viewers who want the fan off, first: O'reilly's has a fan removal tool (By "Lisle") on the shelf for ~$30 (part #: 43580), that fits this truck (mine, 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L). They do carry the rental tool, as well; I didn't bother with that gamble. I've read that Advance Auto's rental tool DOES for sure contain the correct attachment, but sticking to one store was a goal for me. I confirmed the fitment of the "shelf" tool from O'reilly's while my truck was still in the parking lot before purchasing.
A removal tool is needed to re-install the fan/clutch hub to the water pump pulley so you don't damage the pulley using alternative means. In my case, the belt installed on the pulley didn't provide enough grip to keep it from spinning when trying to tighten the hub. The tool should be available at the parts stores that loan tools out. You may also consider replacing the black tube on the front of the pump while it is accessible. If the new pump doesn't come equipped with it. It will be a separate part from the pump and can tend to rust/corrode.
