    1. Skip morning cleanser, just water (if humid & acne-prone, & you have to, do it just 2x/day)
    2. Ditch physical scrubs, use
    exfoliating acids
    3. Focus serum on skin issue
    4. Moisturize skin according to the type of environment you're in
    5. Limit HA in your routine
    6. Do night skincare ASAP
    7. Apply what you use on your skin, on your body as well (but be careful with retinol, tretinoin, & retinoid)
    8. Incorporate skincare throughout your week, not day
    9. Limit your skincare steps to 4 steps
    10. When in doubt or don't have time, apply sunscreen everyday.

@namratasingh9278 She means don't try to do everything in one day. Like for me, I switch up my serum in the morning. I will use aveno's hydrating oath serum. The next morning I focus on discoloration. I have eczema, so my skin can be very dry sometimes. But I also live in a human climate with short winters. So during the humid months, I ease up on the hydration focus more on discoloration. Unless I have a flare up.

      Can someone help me.
Used to have acne free skin all my life (yeah 1-2 pops out once a month but gone within 2-3 days). Since these pandemic, developed hyperpigmentation & dark spots on both cheeck which i didn't really mind until my mum told me to take care of my skin back. Tried few new ones since my cetaphil that been using for 5-6years didnt work for me now. Nothings worked. But d acne still just pops out once a month then.
Went to a dentist May last year, notice got tiny sandy bumps all over my cheeks after treatment. Thought it would go away, they turn to pimples that i never see before. Bought a serum fkr d pimples, then someone mixed d serum w another serum, makes it worse. When i see that it clears a bit on d right side, d left side got more pimples that hurts & tiny bumps to my forehead now. I dont know what to do..
      Diet been d same.

Listening to Idyrss has changed my skin massively in a year. Its crazy what OTC stuff has done for me. And I'm finally trying a prescribed retinoid this month - something i never would have known to ask for - My family doctor is a G. His wife is a dermatologist & i told him I've been wanting to try tret, but it'll probably never happen for me - I'm low income & on disability. Found out Disability covers tret in Canada 😮 and the whole thing was freeeee dollars. I was spending $60 a month on LA Roch posay retinol & now I can invest that in a nicer moisturizer or something

Actually I believe he said it's the third(?) Generation of topical retinoids he suggests (I haven't gotten it yet). So would that be adapalene? So just a heads up to Canadians watching, it might be covered even if you have a basic ass drug plan

I ditched the physical scrubs thanks to you, and my skin's never been softer or smoother. However, I have a couple of questions for you:
    1. What if your acne-prone skin is DRY not OILY? Most advice lumps acne-prone skin in with oily skin, but my skin is dry.
    2. How do you figure out what your biggest skin problem is? For instance, I have rough texture, hyperpigmentation, dryness, and acne. How do I decide what to focus on first? Is there a particular order I should tackle these issues in?

I feel SO validated by the "limit hyaluronic acid" section. I've recently started looking for products that have HA in them and cutting them out because I've noticed that it seems to really aggravate my skin despite the internet saying it should be soothing and gentle for my skin 🤷‍♀️ I love Korean sunscreens because the ones we have here in the United States irritate my sensitive eyes and skin but I recently tried the isntree hyaluronic acid sunscreen and kept getting extremely hot and flushed by the end of the day even when the weather was quite chilly and I realized whenever I used my sunscreen it didn't burn and sting my eyes or my skin when I first put it on but throughout the day it just seemed to make my skin more and more angry until I felt like I needed to wash my face and run it under cool water. Now I'm trying to cut out hyaluronic acid entirely to see if it's been a stealthy contributor to some of my redness and sensitivity since they put it in everything 😂 I thought I might be over reacting or misattributing my reaction to a harmless ingredient but now I'm extra excited to see how my experiment pans out!

    • @salmakhan6498

    • @shelia_marshall_783
      @shelia_marshall_783 Месяц назад +1

My skin also doesn't react well to hyaluronic acid. It becomes so much dryer and irritated. It has become really hard to find skincare or makeup without any hyaluronic acid in it. I at least try to make certain it's as far down on the ingredient list as possible. I used a sunscreen with HA in it and after I removed my makeup my face looked so red and angry. It also makes my lips more chapped and cracked if I use products containing HA. If I do use a product with HA, at night I make certain to apply a heavier moisturizer to try to reclaim some of the moisture the HA essentially took from my face. The HA just temporarily plumps then it has the reverse effect on me.

Also incorporating a non fragrance aloe Vera has been a game changer!! Idk why I didn’t do that one earlier since we’re in the sun everyday! Then adding a dulop of basic butt paste with zinc oxide and petroleum with my moisturizing cream 😭🫶🏽. This is a daily staple for my skincare as someone who uses actives & trying to keep my skincare super simple also using sunscreen everyday ❤️✨🌱. Thank you so much for these tips girl. I try to avoid physical exfoliation, but I've found that Pai's Virtuous Circle Kukui and Jojoba Bead Exfoliator is perfect when I've got a lot of gunk (i.e., silicones, skin flakes, etc.) that just doesn't want to come off. The result is smooth yet soothed skin.

Thank you dr. Idriss! I love your channel. My New Year’s resolution is to get my skin back to a place where I can use retinol again (long story, working with my derm, don’t worry 😊).
I really need some help with my hidradenitis suppurativa. I would love you to do a deep dive on that, I know it’s not truly “cosmetic” except it kind of is…. Outside of the pain etc. I just got my Humira increased so hopefully that calms it down but I’d still love to know more of the causes/processes behind it, and home care that can help in addition to the meds from dr.
Can’t wait for your teased product to come out 💋

My skin is so much better after i quit hyaluronic acid. I used a ha+pga serum and used to think its indispensable for my skin. My moisturizer has ha and so is my sunscreen but my rosacea acne prone sensetive skin is so much better off without the serum

Always so helpful!! 😊 I recently just started my hormonal acne, (I’m in my early 30’s ~starting Spironolactone) , I also have Rosacea. could you please make a video for skin care routine with active and non active ingredients. I’ve seen your videos on hormonal acne but I’m still lost on what and when to use. I just want to make sure I don’t over do it. Thank you in advance! I currently have Panoxyl for my cleanser, Paula’s choice salicylic acid, VT reedle 100 shot, Glycolic acid exfoliating toner, some serum with niacinamide and Isntree hyaluronic acid moisturizer cream.

Hi!! 👋 Huge fan, longtime pillowtalk follower here! I’m a 35yo with no prior skin issues, but for the last two weeks, I’ve had a horrible rash that looks very similar to perioral dermatitis, however it’s more focused around my nose and smile lines. Urgent care clinic wasn’t sure whether it was viral or bacterial so just threw the kitchen sink at me (valtrex and mupirocin 2%).
Other potentially relevant info: this began around the time I got COVID, but unlikely to be maskne because didn’t wear a mask (instead isolated for 1.5 wks); started two new products around this time: Dior forever matte foundation and skinfix triple lipid peptide barrier cream.
Currently trying to get in with a dermatologist, but I’m desperate for any expert input/advice right now! I’m supposed to meet my newborn nephew next week, but will have to cancel is this is contagious! 😭

Yes! Hyaluronic acid absolutely leaves my skin drier for some reason, i dont use it to hydrate at all but just for a little plumping before other products. Also bc i bought such a big batch i dont want it to go to waste lol! I tried Tret on my neck once and learned the hard way wow that skin is sensitive! Then I put some on my shoulders and upper arms and I ended up with light spots that took months to even out. Any idea why that happened? Ty for all the tips! And happy New Year!!! 🥳

Always the best advises from dr Idriss!👏 I actually broke the code of layering hydration and it has shown massive improvements! I do use a hyaluronic acid serum in one of thoses layers🫢, but it has b5 and something else in it, and on me, it works wonder, together with other moisturing products layered (that has no hyaluronic acid at all). Also, the lower percent glycolic acid was a game changer, as I used to get irritation when too high. So greatful for all your top notch advises & tips!!🙏Happy new year!🥳

Hi, Dr. Idris, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to seek your advice regarding my skin concerns. I have keratosis pilaris on the back of my legs and arms. I’ve been using a 10% urea cream for a couple of years now, applying it daily in the evenings. While it has improved the KP on my arms, there hasn’t been much improvement on my legs.
I also have hyperpigmentation on my back, groin area, and arms. I don’t have eczema, and I’m not sure why I’m experiencing this pigmentation. I use sunscreen daily and have tried various skin-lightening products over the years, but nothing has really helped. Currently, I’m using a 7% glycolic acid spray twice a week and moisturizing with urea cream.
I know hyperpigmentation is common in people with skin of color, but it’s so frustrating. I eat a balanced diet and exercise regularly. I have South Asian skin. Could you please advise me on how I can better manage these issues?
    Thank you
