    I love the conditions for a real life shot and hearing Ian talk through what he is trying to do with the different parts of the sole. Definitely learning something every short game video you guys do, thank you.

    I just put a set of MG3 wedges into my bag this week (52*, 56* TW and 60* TW). So far I love these wedges, especially those TW grinds. Still more testing to be done on the course but so far I think these may be my favorite wedges of all time.

    I hit the TW 56° and IMMEDIATELY noticed how uniquely smooth feeling it was. First time I was completely wow’d right from the first shot. I grabbed it up and went out to the course without going to the range with it first and was blown away with the predictability of the turf interaction right from the first shot on the course. Don’t be fooled by it being designed for a tour players game. This is an extremely confidence inspiring club for the short game and I would have no issue putting this into the hands of a higher handicap player. And I have to mention swing balance with a steel shaft. I hit the Cobra Forged Tec irons with stiff flex graphite shafts. Totally in love with these 2022 versions. But the TW 56° with the extra stiff steel shaft just glides through the ball with buttery smooth control and feel. I absolutely love these two wedges, the 56 and 60. Absolutely changed my short game AGAIN after getting hooked in by the Taylor Made Hi-Toe wedges of which I’m definitely keeping my 52°of that club for sure. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

    I’ve just dropped on to a set of MG2’s in a clearance, brand new with the face cover still on, went on the range and chipping area immediately and love them, i was in the market for new wedges and these sure fit the bill.

    Love my MG3’s. Not the TW version but they are better for me personally than the other wedges I’ve tested. Everyone loves Vokey’s and rightfully so, but these deserve a fair chance for people testing new wedges.

    Well, an update TXG, I bought a set of 56 and 60 MG3 and LOVE them. Currently around 10hcp formerly 6-7 hip and they do everything I hope they would. I live in Europe but am from the PNW of the US so I also have a set of clubs there. The TW grind can be a little bit more demanding for me at times, but wow do I love how they "just work". I also have a 50* gap in the MG2 that I just love so it makes me wonder if I'd like the MG2 TW wedges more. Once a club ho, always a club ho!! LOL. Keep up all the fantastic videos, I love them! Your newest one with Ian's putter stuff was pure gold.

    Another interesting and educational video. Not just a specific product test but also a great reinforcement of concepts covered in other wedge videos - which is great as it is finally starting to sink in with me. Just in time for my wedge fitting in 3 weeks ;)

    Great video, as always. I would like to see a video testing the workability of irons. Can a good ball striker work a draw, fade, low, high with a game improvement iron like the Stealth irons as easily as with a TW blade? Also curious if offset truly effects shot shape.

    Wow. Going to have to try playing on a tour caliber course. Watching Ian hit great shots that can’t go close makes me want to see how challenging these courses are. Going to expect lots of 3 putts due to proximity of the approach shot and definitely not going to expect to break 100.

  • @stephendibari5010

    I have the 56 deg. TW grind and Ian is spot on. On soft turf mid high length grass on a 40-55 yard shot, using the leading edge, the ball is hit thin and it scoots low and too far. Instead, I have to open the face slightly and use the middle of the sole. My big problem still remains from soft sand. The TW grind is kind of narrow and it digs especially from deep green side bunkers. I’m leaving way too many short or even in the bunker. No bueno. I love the feel of these wedges I have the 52° standard bounce 9° has a wide sole and the feeling is as good if not better than a Vokey. I may just get the 56° standard grind.

    Great review and wedge test on some hard course situations...Thanks...When I look for wedges to fit into my iron game, I look at Cleveland, Hogan Equalizers, and then Mizuno T-22. These people are know for their wedge game... So depending on what iron set I use on the differenct courses, I can fit in my wedges to match...Not a Pro, Not on subsidy, and not much money to throw around, but love the game.An like most of us, Want to get Better.....And Be the Best One Can Be....

    could you do a video on how finishing hand position height (ie tiger's teachings) creates higher ball flight? does that create more speed? more spin? higher launch angle?

    This may be an unpopular opinion but I wish tests like this were done on a completely flat green and not on a hole. It may seem more fun to see it hit on a famous hole but I would prefer not to be trying to figure out how much the slope effected the shot. You guys do a great job and I loved the video. Not happy that I’m probably going to buy one of these wedges now, because I sure don’t need any wedges, but great job overall

    I really want these, would you recommend these to someone who consistently shoots in the 90s?

  • @Crampyton1
    @Crampyton1 2 года назад +1

    I think these are great and exactly the sort of wedge I'd really love to play. As someone who plays on a mix of turfs having a versatile grind is super helpful and I feel we (the average consumer) aren't given enough options with grinds on wedges given their importance. My question is, do you recommend buying just the 60 degree to replace my current Mizuno T20 60 degree? My concern is the difference in swing weight and shaft as I bought my 50, 55 and 60 T20 wedges as a custom fit set.

    What is the wedge board you use in the bay? For clarification, what is the product? Did you buy this or use parts to construct it yourself. Either way, whatever details you can provide would be helpful. Seems like it would be great for simulators. Thanks in advance.

    I've been using vokey's for long time now and ping eye 2 wedges before that. I was thinking about getting these until I seen Ping had new eye 2 wedges coming out on April 7th =)
    Pre-ordered ping Glide 4 50*(since no ping eye 2) ping glide eye 2 54* and ping glide eye 2 60*. Original ping eye 2 use to be able to lay a 54* pretty flat and hit high flop shot. Can't wait to get these =) Would be cool to see your review on them as well

      Good question, I’d be interested to know whether bending would negatively effect the bounce and grind properties.

    How does the bxs compare to the bx off the driver? How much does the Ballspeed decrease and the spin increase with similar swings?

    • @joshclayg
      @joshclayg 2 года назад

      I found the bx more stable in the wind, if that's a result of less spin over the bxs, maybe?

    The thing about the MG3 TW is that I have yet to see him play them. Also, he had Vokey on the range at Augusta National. Curious to see what he actually plays. I'd love to give a set of the MG2 a try.

      Although Tiger might not have switched to the MG3 yet, Tiger is certainly not using any Vokey wedges.
      The image going around was of Billy Horschel's Vokey wedges from when they greeted each other on the range.

    Is there anything about those grinds where they wouldn't be a good fit for someone? That would've been good to hear. It's not like these wedge companies have never thought about players dropping the handle, standing the club up on it's toe, or giving a little bounce closer to a preworn leading edge before. There has to be some reasons why all manufacturer's aren't offering this grind as one of their basic offerings.

    Any amateur golfer, regardless of hcp, would benefit from these TW wedges as the hardest part of the game is from 120yds in, along with bunker shots and putting. Ian clearly demonstrated the effective shot options these TW wedges offer to all golfers who effectively practice, practice, practice - their short game. I'm a vokey wedge golfer who is keen to try the TW 60* lob wedge; a 56* SW and maybe weaken a 56* down to 53* or 52* to bag 3 wedges as a shot option from 120yds in! Thanks guys👍 when can we see the TW wedges⛳🏌‍♂on course at say ⛳🏌‍♂The Abbey ⛳🏌‍♂or your home club? ⛳🏌‍♂😀

    10:25, disagree. The fact that they purposely dry out and nearly kill courses to “firm them up, and give the pros a challenge” mean it is fundamentally not real golf. Yes, there are courses that are firm and fast, but never to US open extent, JMO.
