    its not surprising to see so many people looking at this bow. I just bought it my self after about 3 months of research and looking at bows at Bass Pro. I was going to get a 600 dollar Bear. But after checking Sanlida out i fell in love, the company actually makes and markets Olympic recurve bows for professional archers. The bow base is made in China but the arms are American, this seems to be common practice with even American companies that produce high end bows so after seeing this i was like well its 200 bucks instead of 600 so lets do it. It will be here today and I'm hoping to throw some arrows at a target this week end for an hr or so!

    My advice for a tiny (cheap) upgrade but a good one. Buy a 8 or 10 inch stabilizer for 10-30 bucks depending on what you like. It works so much better than the one they give with the bow.

    • @watschadoin
      @watschadoin  2 месяца назад +1

      So instead of a stabilizer I purchased a Tactacam with stabilizer attachment. It doesn’t do anything really for stabilization or vibration dampening but I was hoping to provide better content video!

      @@watschadoin Ive never used any sort of cameragear on my bows, but imho, if it has some weight to it, its gotta be better than the tiny little "snubnose" :D
      Either way, looking forward to seeing some out the front content. No doubt it will give ya some epic shots.
      Might actually work better if the snubnose is screwed on in conjunction with the tactacam.. But not sure, jsut a random thought, not based in actual experience last part.

    Mine came with 12 arrows of which 4 didn’t pass the spin test! So I did get 8 decent arrows for now to shot with

    I have been recovering from a spine surgery and also adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), first left and then right shoulder. It has been almost 4 years to recover. Again a spine problem that fortunately is now in control with fisical therapy and avoided surgery. I used to shoot a Bear and a Hoyt , both compound bows, 70lbs. I tried to shoot again and found that I do not have the strenght to use my bows. Evem at 50lbs . So sad. so I looked at very adjustable bows and found the Bear Legend XT but they will not sell them online and I am in another country, so I looked at the Bear Legit but have not found one. Watched some you tube reviews for the Sanlinda Dragon X8 and X9. This might be my ticket to recovery using a very low draw weight and increase slowlya as I gain strenght. Seems to my that both are almost the same and accesories are the diference, which I do not care. Somebody has shoot both of them? Opinions, which would you suggest. ? Thanks

    Nice review. I have the same bow (also, had it for almost a year now), and can't agree more - accesories are pretty cheap and arrows from the set are garbage BUT they are great for spare parts - I cannibalized them for nocks and o-rings for my Skylons (Skylon nocks were too tight for Sanlida bowstring), so it saved me few pennies. All in all, whole set has a good bang for a buck factor and I will probably consider X10 when it's time for upgrade.

    Looking very deeply into getting this bow. I know the bow itself is awesome but I’ve been shooting archery for a few years now and what I have noticed about these affordable packages the arrows, rest, and sight most of the time are substandard but the bow itself are usually well made.

      You hit the nail on the head. The bow itself is decent. The accessories are not great. But I noticed you said you’ve been shooting for years. Tbh, I’m a complete amateur but when I was younger I worked at a hunting retailer where I got to shoot everything from flagship bows to entry level bows. The X8 is not a bow that someone who has owned a premium bow would enjoy. But for the price this bow definitely punches above its price point. The arrow rest that came with my bow sometimes caused some deflection of the arrow path, I quickly replaced it with the good ol whisker biscuit, the strap was cheap and uncomfortable, I replaced with a custom paracord with leather retainer, the arrow quiver shifts and does not sit right but I haven’t found a need to replace it, but I probably will. I did attach a kisser to the string as well for a definitive reference point. Most if not all of these would have been needed to be replaced on other budget bows that this competes with. I like it, for the price. Definitely something I would recommend as a first bow, or even a bow conversion to bow fishing (but there are probably better options for that). If I still worked at the hunting retail store, I would definitely try to point experienced archers to higher caliber bows, but for someone on a budget or looking for the first bow, this would be hard to beat. (Btw, even when I worked retail, I didn’t make commissions so I regular pointed customers to products, even if we didn’t sell it. Most often I found that people either came back to ask my advice or buy a product we offered because they felt they could trust me, or thought it helped me with commission and even if I outright told them that I didn’t earn commission they just accepted that as something we all say. Speaking to the store or department manager about good experiences was better for us, but it didn’t matter anyhow because I moved on to a better job for more pay). All that to say, if you are an experienced intermediate archer or better I would look at better options out there. If you are a beginner or looking for a bow I would consider a great value this is my #1 choice. Because of its affordability, I literally leave it in the back of my suv and carry a target with me. I often times set up and shoot this thing trying to get as much practice as possible. I wax the strings more often because of this but I doubt I would do this if I owned a bow of much higher cost. Sorry for the excessive response, I saw your profile pic and thank you for your service, I’m a Marine vet myself and wanted to try to give you the best response possible!

      @@watschadoin Bear Legit is a good bow. Bear products in general are a good brand and they have plenty of packages that won’t break the bank.

      @@DisgruntledVet78 I absolutely agree. Generally speaking I have found that cheap equals not durable, mid-level means good enough, and flagship means high dollar. There are a few that break these general categories but like you said gotta always be on watch because most companies aren’t above tricking us to take our money.

    • @watschadoin

      @@DisgruntledVet78 I like bear and diamond for entry level. They have always seemed to be the brands that set the standard in that category.

    Would you buy this bow again ?

    • @watschadoin
      @watschadoin  8 месяцев назад

      Yes, I just checked and they make the X9 and 10 model. This bow is a total great value for the price. Just like most RTS (Ready to shoot) bow packages the accessories it come with are not great, but you don’t HAVE to replace anything, but you would probably want to. I would still buy the X8 over the X9 or 10 because it’s a better value for the money. I really do like this bow a lot especially for the money.
