    i wanted to point out that what you said about the poundage screws is absolutely correct. screw them all the way in and THEN unscrew equal number of turns. i have done the opposite - i unscrewed both all the way out (up to the limit) and then screwed in an equal number of turns. i could not get the arrow to sit parallel. the alignment was visibly off. it turns out that the poundage screws are of slightly different lengths.

    I bought this bow te pro version. It comes with 12 arrows and a release.
    This is so easy to adjust I literally have never touched a compound bow before. But wanted something that wasn't going to brake the bank, to get into the sport. I was able to follow this video and set it to my needs.

    Mine feels like a 55lb bow on pull, but it is actual 65lbs due to cams being very smooth. Drill the peep site out by hand with a 5/32 drill bit, taking your time and the peep sight is fine. Jeremy did an outstanding job in this review and showing aspects. This bow is very well worth its money and take it to Jeremy and "The Archery Shack" for them to help you set up yours.

    I bought one as my first compound bow ever. It wasn't hard to setup on my own with these good videos helping. It shoots great at 20 yards and I'm having fun with it. I'm a big time gun and cross Boe hunter and didn't want to spend $1500 on a bow to find out I hate it. I think I'm going to go buy a high end bow now that I've used this one a bit and I'm having fun. I definety need to practice my groups suck

      You can go to a bow shop and try a bow before you buy one. Dropping 1,500 bucks on a bow you’ve never shot would be advised against by anyone selling it to you. You did that on a 200+ dollar bow and honestly that’s surprising. You can get quality bows that perform competition level for way less than 1,500. Good luck and have fun

    With your arrow speed - 259fps with a 380gr arrow = 57lbs of Kinetic Energy at bow and 49lbs kinetic energy at 50yds. So that is more than enough to kill any whitetail deer, turkey, antelope out there. I have mine maxed limbs out at 70lbs @ 28" draw = 65lbs actual draw pull. It shoots 450gr arrows @ 255fps = 65lbs of Kinetic Energy at bow & 58lbs kinetic energy @ 50yds. That is more than enough for any Elk, deer, hogs, black bear, turkey, etc. Mine is dead accurate also. Fit and finish I give a 10/10. You might want grip tape or black athletic tape around the grip.

      @@mattl1758 My grand daughter is 11 yrs old just shy of her 12th. I bought her a child's compound off of Amazon I think it was like 40.00. That was a month ago. The first time she drew that kids compound bow my jaw dropped. Now I have been shooting for 45 years so I know. Her form on the first draw, that being her stance elbow position and get this her anchor point was perfect, naturally...I mean perfect. I did not show her anything and just told her to never draw the bow without a arrow nocked and never dry fire ANY bow. That was it. In ten minutes from 12 yards with this cheap piece of junk she was hitting the inner ring, and a occsional "flier" and not the bullseye but get this...all shooting bare fingers. After about 10 shots she said her fingers were burning. ;-) Fast forward to last week when I purchased the x8 for her. Set poundage and draw which was comfortable for her. Third round of arrows I put the target out to 20 yds just to see what was going on here or if I was dreaming..no Bull. She consistently was dropping the arrows in the inner ring with a occasional Bullseye. My hunting partner came over to shoot this last Saturday to see for himself because he thought I was embellishing my exuberance because she was my grand daughter. After she shot he said Dan ,this is incredible, I think she could possibly have what it takes eventually to go Olympics if she stays with it. No Bull. OK lets not get carried away...but...
      This bow can't be beat for a beginner or ANYONE at this price point from beginner to well...me. Smooth draw back wall, easy valley and quiet. Your child as my grand daughter will have all the time they need to grow out of this bow...if they stay recreational probably until they wear it out. I can't believe the quality. Now how long will it hold up? I don't know and I don't care but for 190.00 this bow is unmatched. I will say however the bow for a young child it is a bit heavy for a 12 year old but when we shoot together we rotate and I take my time to let her recover. I already see her endurance moving up slowly. I am thrilled about this bow for her and hope I still know who I am (:-) if she should she eventually do something special with archery in the future.
      Good luck, health and happiness and I hope your child has many happy moments coming in their lives with this bow and further.

    Does the bow have to be shot with the things you were using with your hands or can I just use my fingers like with a recurve bow

    • @JW-bw8nj
      @JW-bw8nj 4 года назад +4

      You can shoot compound bows with fingers but you run the risk of twisting the strings and having them come off the cams (the wheels on the ends). It's much safer to buy a cheap release for $20 to avoid that.

  • @gcnphilly
    @gcnphilly 3 года назад +1

    Have been shooting with the bow a few months and overall I like it. Only concern is how loud the bow is. Did you find the bow/string is fairly loud? Almost a distinct crack sound? Can’t tell from your vid as you have music playing over your shooting. Would love to see video without the added music and anything you recommend to get the bow to be nice and quiet. Have done dampeners already. This is more when the string fires and hits the string suppressor.

    I bought this Dragon X8 as my first compound bow. Although it appears to be of good quality build, the bow came with very little in the way of instructions. The manual stated to use RUclips for detailed instructions on how to put it together, and I ended up here. Good verbal instructions but lousy visual queues. The entire video is a head-on distant shot and I have no clue where you are attaching the accessories or even how. Next time, you may want to show close ups if your intent is to teach someone how to put something together as a first-time user.

    This is my first compound bow and I really appreciate the info on setup. I was wondering, on all my traditional bows I put the arrows with the odd color facing out. I have shot with whisker biscuits before but this is my first time using this particular, type. When I put the arrow in the "usual" way of odd arrow out, the fletching don't line up with the three "grooves" (for lack of a better term) and I am noticing that it makes my arrows fly inconsistently. In your video you have the odd arrow facing up. I have tons of arrows and none of them are default setup to have the odd arrow up when knocked (even if I turn it around the other way). Is this something that requires special arrows or re-configuring the notch on some of my current arrows or am I just screwing up the install or some other stupid thing. Appreciate any info you got. If I gotta reconfigure my arrows I'd almost rather just get a whisker biscuit.

    • @JW-bw8nj
      @JW-bw8nj 3 года назад

      On recurves and longbows the odd fetching points to the side, but on compound bows the odd fetching points up. Some arrows allow for the nock to turn easily to adjust for the different direction.

      Вы очень ошибаетесь, мой друг. У Sean's Outdoor Adventures этот лук заблокирован для того, как он работает. Вы обманываете себя, если думаете иначе и зря тратите время и деньги товарищ! Даже американцы понимают, что этот лук хорош по своей конструкции и дизайну. Показанная демонстрация очень и очень хорошая / профессиональная. =------->
