Shame me all you want YT! I just bought it cause I wanna start kearning but couldnt justify a $500 additional hobby! For 200 I was able to convince myself it was a good enough value to go ahead and get it... this video has given me a new wave of excitement! Im looking forward to trying it out!!! Thanks for making this video brother!!! Much appreciated! Ill be posting my progress in the coming weeks!
If any shame comes your way, just remind them that it does have Gordon Glass limbs and BCY strings from American manufacturers that supply high end archery components lol!
Just a heads up for anyone buying this. I shot it for 2 years before I upgraded. It's great! But the only downside is some local shops will not work on them due to them being "amazon bows". Still a great buy and will hold up against a lot of other bows on the market as long as you tune it properly.
My local pro shop had the same attitude, which is why I now do my own bow work and buy all my arrows from online sources now to build myself. I've bought several other big brand bows since this one, but I still have a soft spot for it when I just want to go sling some arrows.
Not all shops have this mentality but shops not working on these could be a good thing. It forces you to learn about bows so you don't rely on shops to do everything for you. My friend and I brought ours to a local shop/range and the range master helped us tune the sights. I've done all other works on both our bows since then after learning more about bows archery in general
I got this bow a few months back. honestly for 200 its amazing. i put a trophy ridge hot wire sight. old Vital gear drop away ( now its the buck rub magne drop ) and a limb saver stab on it. shoots very consistant. honestly impressed enough to use it for hunting this year. contemplating getting the dragon 10 come spring
Thats the one im thinking about. Got a x9 for my wife for christmas, but im thinking the 10 might be the way to go. Seems like a lot of bow for the price
I bought the camo version last fall, took it hunting and killed two whitetail with it. I upgraded the sight, rest, and stabilizer and built some Easton 6.5mm Bowhunter arrows at 28 inches with 340 spine for it. Compared to my Bear Alaskan and PSE, it is very quiet and buttery smooth in the draw. At my draw length I could only get the draw weight up to 62 pounds, not 70 as listed but it still did well. All in all I was very impressed. Archery is supposed to be a working man's sport, you shouldn't have to spend 2k to get a good set-up but that's exactly where it's headed. With a $200 bow you can afford to get a quality, sight, rest, good arrows, and even a good thumb release and still come in under $1000. I am seriously considering the Dragon 10 now just because of how impressed I was with the x8. Give it a chance, it makes a great starter or even "recreational" bow.
I'm glad u said this . I'm just getting into archery and was about to fork out 600 for a bow . Would rather buy decent bow and get some better accessories and start from there .
It's amazing. I haven't seen one bad review of this bow. Everyone is quite positively surprised with it. I appreciate the honesty in the archery/bow hunting community, nobody is shitting on this bow and everyone stays objective regardless it's Chinese and $200 ish, everyone just let their true impressions talk.
Whenever I bought it, it was just a little over $100. I filled a doe tag this year with it also. I haven’t added any different attachments then what’s came with it. And them black and blue arrows are turning red!
I have one of those, great bow. Swopped out the biscuit for a trophy taker drop away and 430 grain arrows with it. 32 inch draw @ 60 lbs. Nothing wrong with that bow. Punches WAY above it's perceived performance.
Just bought this bow after getting back into archery. I haven't shot since my teenage years probably, but a campground I'm going to has an archery range, so I'll give this a go. Your video is a great orientation to getting this all set up correctly.
You have me sold on buying this bow. About to turn 21 years old and don’t have all the money in the world. Great video brotha, you just got a new subscriber👍
I brought this bow and I've upgraded throughout the few years and I still enjoy shooting this bow ,I wouldn't get rid of it , it's still fun to shoot and has never let me down
Bought one last year, put a drop rest and a different peep, plus better arrows. It's been well worth getting it to see how I feel about archery vs my crossbows. I'll be taking this out on opening day this year over my Excal Micro
Bought one today. I've always had the curiosity to try archery and a buddy of mine just picked up his new hunting bow (Diamond Infinite Edge) and it made me want to try it that much more. I may even go hunting with him once I'm a decent shot.
I bought it to see if I wanted to start bow hunting. Hunted with it for one season and it was great. Still have it and shoot it in the yard for fun. Great starter bow.
i was looking at recurve bows so i wouldnt have to spend more than 200 and then i saw this on amazon. i ran over here to watch the review and im thinking this might be the best bet for 200. the recurve bows at 200 dont come with anything at all and have a pretty short effective range at like 20 yards. this seems like a great bow for 200 bucks and its something i can afford and accurately shoot. cant argue with that! thanks for the review!
Kudos for testing this beaut' at various distances, mate. I have seen a few reviews of this brand (X8, X9 and 10) but none went to the length of eyeballing it at anything beyond the 25 yrd line. Cheers for the really cool review.
Great video!! I got this bow in camo as a Christmas gift in 2023. I had never shot a compound bow before so I put it together and was amazed at the speed. Took it to BassPro and the archery shop tuned it for me and replaced the peep sight. I practiced for the next six months and maintained a two inch group at 25 yards. Harvested my first buck August 2024 with that bow. I’m sold on the performance but then again I’m no expert or lifelong archer….. I would recommend this bow to anyone just getting into archery. I need to try a 40 / 50 yard shot with it set to 55 lbs….
I bought one for my daughter. I had the same reaction I mean it's significantly better than I expected. To be perfectly honest, to be a bow that was probably built for $20 it's quite impressive.
Yes, it's encouraging that people with tighter budgets can still afford a very decent bow thanks to companies like Sanlida. I think market competition is important, bows are becoming ridiculously expensive.
When they make bows that are less expensive and you maybe close to being right that they could have made it for 20$ ,your missing the point that to make them it comes at a cost to the seller to have the machines , gear and pay the staff plus package and handling and the fact that materials are brought in bulk that's why the cost in the $200s
Im Amazed first at Price,Being a New Archer ,was Ez to setup and shoot ,,Used for couple sessions of lots of arrows downrange,Arrows are fine, rest wore out after 200 arrows,i just flipped the brushes, works fine again, one of the pins came out on the release.Sanlida sent new one from X9,recieved in 4 days,.Went to local shop and will purchase new rest. Cant wait to keep sending arrows downrange
When I bought my first bow 3 years ago I almost got this one but I was actually scared off by the low price. I thought there was no way it could be decent quality for half the price of the Bear Cruzer G2 I bought instead. Since I only shot the Cruzer for a year before I bought my Elite, I should have just saved the 200 bucks lol
quite good actually for the price@@coleweeks1477 the nice part was being able to upgrade the accessories as I learned more about archery, then just swapping them over to the new bow when I found a good deal. it's a good quality bow and very adjustable so it would also be good to pass down to a younger/smaller shooter to learn on
I just got one for father's day, my first bow! Still working on getting it all set up. Trying to find a local shop that will help me. Im concerned this bow might be a little too small for me. But hopefully close enough to get me started. Thanks for your video!
@@Beyondthebite2024 I'm 6'6". I still haven't got it all dialed in just right, because I've been having some shoulder issues lately. I think this bow is technically about a half inch short, but a half inch is still workable. Should probably work just right for you.
I have one and love it. My shop set it up for free. It'll drop a deer as well as anything else out there. The only thing I would complain about is the grip is super smooth and needs taped for grip and even warmth on those cold mornings.
It’s a good enough bow stick that I’ve taken a few USA Archery achievement awards with it never having touched compound before six months ago. My biggest tip to a potential buyer would be to ditch the included release and buy something better.
Good for archers who can cam sync and paper tune there own bows .there as accurate as any expensive bow. Works best with quality accessories and correct arrow spines for draweights .
I have one I am shooting it right now... But I took it to the pro shop and he said it is a 60 lb draw instead of a 70... It's not pulling anywhere close to 70.. but I am happy with everything else
I used one for 3 years. Put a better sight and rest on it and had better arrows cut but I killed 10 or more whitetail with this bow and it does pretty good. Not as smooth as my Matthews but it is definitely worth the money
I started archery when i was 12. At first, it was for deer hunting but i quickly transitioned to just target shooting. I shot for about 10-12 years and then i just stopped. I sold all my archery equipment when i was 27. Im 38 now and I've been thinking about getting back into it. This might just be a good buy or maybe the x10
I have the bow and yes it definitely is, I’ve seen videos of people hunting with it but am yet to try it out myself, planning on using it this year though
Don’t know what’s wrong with mine but can’t get it dialed in. Shoots a 20” spread at 10 yards. Hoping the shop can figure it out without charging me an arm and a leg.
Have you seen the new(er) model? Sanlida Dragon X9. If you liked this one you will definitely like the X9. Its basically the same but with some nice small upgrades here and there.
@@HaxenHuntis this worth the money for deer season? Nebraska deer season is coming up really soon and it's gonna be my first bow hunt. If this is adequate do you have any suggestions on arrows I should use on big game. I'm already upgrading to a good whisker biscuit and wanna make sure if I have the opportunity to absolutely bag me a decent size buck.
considering on getting one . how would you rate the string quality that comes with it? a good string would be half the price of the bow should I have to change it.
Thank you for the review. I ordered the dragon x8 and actually I am super impressed. But one thing bothers me, I have some vibrations/noises in the lower cam and can’t fix it because I don’t know exactly the reason. Any suggestions? 😮
I got the cheapest bow on amazon to hunt with in '17, "leaders accessories" It was WAY better than the flagship bow I inherited from the 90's. The kit was put together by a guy here in the midwest. I upgraded to a budget bear and gifted that bow to my nephew, It does the job on white tails. I think it the entire kit was 125 bucks
Its not always about having ghe most expensive bow , get one the feels right in your hands , i have this bow and still hit the targets with eases and i have two expensive bows which shoot good aswell but i believe its upto the archer, when you have learnt the basics then it gets to the point that it doesnt matter too much into what bow you are shooting with , i choose to have as little tech gear on my bows as possible so that i add more of myself into the shot and shooting of the arrow, this bow wont let you down and i believe if well looked after could last for years to come
The only reason a 200$ bow should be bad is if the company who made it wanted to crank the profit margin as high as they could get it, at the end of the day a bow is just a leaf spring with a string attached.
Picked up an x9 for le wife this year for christmas, so i havent shot it, but i DO know that the arrows are actually usable for higher poundages. Theyre a 290 spine, as opposed to like a 400. The x8 is geared more towards younger archers, while the x9 and 10, i believe are more intended for intermediate archers.
@@FarzBorneo I understand that lmao. But the accessories that come with the x9 are more fit for higher poundage and longer draw length. The accessories in general are much better from what I can tell, justifying the higher price lmao
Bear Karnage Dynamic is available for 199.99 on their website right now. It comes as a RTH package. Bow hunting doesn't have to cost a fortune folks. Be safe.
I got one and it wouldn't shoot bulletholes through paper unless I set it 1/4" nock low using 3 different arrow rests - whisker biscuit, QAD HDX, and Hamskea Primer. Sent them an email stating what was wrong. They sent me another one with the same issue. I guess I got 2 bum ones, unless I accept that they're going to tune nock low (which is abnormal) and shoot them that way. They're not my primary bows, btw; I just ordered one for shits & giggles and see what the hype was all about. I'm disappointed, but at least they can shoot bulletholes tuned nock low.
@@scottdavis2133 I *am* a pro shop. Been doing this for 20 years in my basement after having worked at 3 different archery shops. Everything on the bow was set perfect. Two Sanlida Dragon X8s and both of them tuned nock low under 29" drawlength. I changed arrows stiffnesses; I swapped limbs left to right (they were all the same deflection rating); I flipped limbs top to bottom; I changed rests from a QAD (cable-driven) to a Hamskea (limb driven); I played with the tiller. I even tried putting shims between the rocker pivots and the top limbs. You name it, I tried it. I even tried deliberately changing the drawstops to hit first at both top and bottom. Go buy one and test it for yourself. I only bought one because Sean McVey (Sean's Outdoor Adventures) said it was an awesome bow, but he's a 31" draw, so it would tune perfect for him. Like I said - anything above 29". I wanted to see what the hype was about. Well, it's a great bow if you're 29" or longer. That's it. I even went back and forth with Sean in emails detailing my findings. He said he didn't have time to verify them yet, but he might in the future. We'll see.
I just want a good compound bow that's not gonna snap on me when I draw. I don't plan on hunting at all. Just want to learn how to shoot in my backyard with the purpose of scaring off predators to protect my chickens (but not necessarily hurt the predator). Currently have my eye on this one. A fox came to my backyard and stared back at me from a couple feet while I tried to shoo it away. I didn't want to go near it and wanted to throw something at it to scare it away, but the only thing around me was a potted basil. And I thought, dang it, if only I could shoot an arrow at it to scare it away. 😂
When I first got into archery I was given a split limb kind of older bear store brand bow, had a square framed bow sight, whisker bisket no stabilizer, wound up ditching the sight but could hit a two inch spot regularly. Bought a $5 steel stabilizer at academy, and got tack driving good with it with the whisker bisket. I did wind up putting a used fall away rest on it, a string stop which took nearly all of the vibration out. Was shooting at the archery shop that gave it to me and tack driving and the guy came up to me and said, YOU HAVE TO STOP THAT, I'm like what? He said, I'm trying to sell full $2500 bow set ups and you're in here tack driving with this piece of shit I gave you LoL. Fast forward about 12-14 years and after I hadn't shot much, me and my four sons went hunting and on didn't have a bow so I found one of these Amazon bows at a pawn shop, got it for like $50-75 for one of my sons that didn't have a bow, whoever had it shot it probably a handful of times and gave up, whoever set it up had the sight on the wrong side of the bow, the arrow rest was way out of square/level with the d-loop, they didn't know ANYTHING about shooting a compound bow. I took it home squared the arrow rest set it all up just eyeballing it, FIRST shot bullseye, second shot nearly a Robinhood and called it good. Point is, doesn't matter if your bow is twenty, thirty years old, as long as it's set up right for the way YOU shoot it doesn't matter and DON'T have to cost $1500-2500, it's YOU and NOT the bow, if you don't put in the time to learn how to shoot it it doesn't matter how much it costs or what brand it is, you're NOT going to hit the broad side of a barn. These bows are just as good, MAYBE not have fancy materials in the limb pockets, might not have ceramic bearings at every pivot but I GUARANTEE YOU it'll bring down an animal and will win tournament's putting everyone to shame with their $1500-3000 bows, BUT YOU HAVE TO PUT IN THE TIME to learn. Here's probably one of the biggest secrets to being really good after your bow is set up properly, AIM SMALL SHOOT SMALL. Aim for an existing hole in your target or draw a spot with a sharpie or a little round sticker the size of the tip on your arrow. Practice with that and it won't take as long as shooting with a target the size of a paper plate, another thing is BREATH, learn to steady your up and down and side to side, hold your bow with a loose grip the same way EVERY TIME, find the ancer point on your cheek or jaw and be sure to focus doing everything the same way EVERY TIME. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. Every day if possible. It won't take as long as you think. But as being good with anything, you have to want it, once you have it, it's like riding a bike even when you haven't ridden in a while, just a little practice and you should be good to go. Good luck, STAY SAFE AND GOD BLESS. If you're a beginner you just need some guidance from someone who knows what they're talking about or just watch some videos of how to shoot and you don't need a high dollar bow to get started. By the way, I still have that first bear bow, I've got a couple of better ones but with a little practice I can still pretty much tack drive with it as I don't shoot anywhere close to as much as I once did as I would put a 100-200 shots a day through it using weights and lengths of different sizes, whatever arrow I could find, that's how I learned. Have fun with it, the more serious you get it can be stressful as you start criticizing yourself, just relax and have fun.

Would you say it's ok to hunt with?
I have the bow and yes it definitely is, I’ve seen videos of people hunting with it but am yet to try it out myself, planning on using it this year though
It shoots amazing groups with the right release, I have mine set at 65 lbs and it smacks the target pretty hard
@Jockington26 heck yeah!!
Don’t know what’s wrong with mine but can’t get it dialed in. Shoots a 20” spread at 10 yards. Hoping the shop can figure it out without charging me an arm and a leg.
Killer shirt! Source?
Have you seen the new(er) model? Sanlida Dragon X9. If you liked this one you will definitely like the X9. Its basically the same but with some nice small upgrades here and there.
Did the loop and peep already cone installed?
Can this be used for hunting? Small game in mind, to around woodchucks etc.
100% yes!! You could hunt big game too if you wanted!
@@HaxenHunt oh wonderful! Thank you kindly for the response, and have a nice day
Thanks for your support!!
Great info! I’m 6’ tall and draw length 30, I noticed you mention you’d buy this for your kids, would you recommend it for an adult my size?
I bought mine over 10 years ago from a hunting and tackle shop, used it more or less to learn how to work on one
considering on getting one . how would you rate the string quality that comes with it? a good string would be half the price of the bow should I have to change it.
Excellent review.
I've been thinking about buying one of these just to mess with in the yard where I cant justify big name prices
Thank you for the review. I ordered the dragon x8 and actually I am super impressed. But one thing bothers me, I have some vibrations/noises in the lower cam and can’t fix it because I don’t know exactly the reason. Any suggestions? 😮
The arrows that you have linked what length should I get I'm looking to get into archery.
Great video!! Good commentary, . Thanks
When your arrows cost more than the bow 😂
#truth😂😂
Sanlida's best arrows are $89 for two dozen so still way cheaper than the bow and they're nice
Thanks man from Oz..
A person who knows nothing about bows here.can you use any arrows with this bow, or some thing compatible ?
Just because of this video, subscribed
Thanks for the support!!!
Picked up an x9 for le wife this year for christmas, so i havent shot it, but i DO know that the arrows are actually usable for higher poundages. Theyre a 290 spine, as opposed to like a 400. The x8 is geared more towards younger archers, while the x9 and 10, i believe are more intended for intermediate archers.
x8 and x9 are same bow...
@@FarzBorneo I understand that lmao. But the accessories that come with the x9 are more fit for higher poundage and longer draw length. The accessories in general are much better from what I can tell, justifying the higher price lmao
Thanks for such a good video
I've had this bow for about a year now. Maybe 60-70 shots. I've noticed the cables are touching the arrow fletching. Could the cables be stretched?
Bear Karnage Dynamic is available for 199.99 on their website right now. It comes as a RTH package. Bow hunting doesn't have to cost a fortune folks. Be safe.
It's a great bow
The way he twisted the peep lol
Hunt with it. Great bow from youth to pro
I love mine
Try a stiffer spine.
@@adamjarchives I shot every spine through it between a .500 to a .300. They all shot the same
Your bottom cam is probably hitting ahead of the top a little. A pro shop can fix it quickly with a fast string adjustment.
We'll see.
Sorry to hear that then, I had the same issue and fixed it with a string twist.
id just be worried about it staying in tune
I just want a good compound bow that's not gonna snap on me when I draw. I don't plan on hunting at all. Just want to learn how to shoot in my backyard with the purpose of scaring off predators to protect my chickens (but not necessarily hurt the predator).
Currently have my eye on this one.
A fox came to my backyard and stared back at me from a couple feet while I tried to shoo it away. I didn't want to go near it and wanted to throw something at it to scare it away, but the only thing around me was a potted basil. And I thought, dang it, if only I could shoot an arrow at it to scare it away. 😂
this bow is 430 dollars on amazon in canada
Looks like I made a good choice.
Yea the arrows are like 500 spine. Wish they could have at least done 400.
W!!
Buy a bow from me support the small bow builders ! Shot for 300 bucks id make you arrows and a bow I have a few choices of wood includes string and quiver, and I promise you would love it !
News flash: most bow manufacturers pay the chinese to make most parts for all bows if not all. Then, they charge us triple or quadruple for that bow. It sucks.
Draw length????????no detail on adj
This bow is ,£400 from Amazon UK.
Im Marine Veteran who has shot bow since i could walk, just had .y dominant arm totally reversed replacement, im hoping to get back to shooting this year, id love to win the Bows
I got one a few months ago did a few upgrades but definitely will work money,
sick hat lol im from mt
Comes with 4000 spine arrows
PLEASE READ. Do not use the arrows that come with the bow. I had one break before it left the bow. It cut my wrist open.
No left hand bow?...NEXT!
70 lbs?
Only with a 31 inch draw. 27" draw maxes at about 64lb
If I go to an archery shop can they install everything on the bow since they are professionals and I have no idea what I’m doing
Cheap quality bow that will hurt american over priced compound im not paying 500 dollar for a hoyt
Shame it's right hand only
Pawnshop flagship bows are better. This bow shoots 400gr arrows sub 200fps
with 40Lbs and 26inch Dw? 😂😂😂
If you can’t shoot a $200 bow you can’t shoot a $2000 bow.
A $200. Bow is way out of my league. Far too rich for my budget.
bro just casually skipped the fuck out of draw length
See what JakeKaminski thinks about this company.
Gonna save you 17 minutes , the answer is no . Some components may suck but the bow itself is whatever if you know how to shoot you can kill deer all day with a $200 bow
FYI, I don't know if you have any control over your advertisement content but I just had to sit through Obama asking for money to support Joe in order to watch your video
