Lawn Winterizer Fertilizer and Equipment + Bonus Footage Madison County

- Опубликовано: 6 ноя 2019
- After making over 100 lawn related videos this year I have decided that this is my last lawn video...
Of the 2019 season of course! I put down my winterizer lawn fertilizer application and talk about the basics of winterizing a cool season lawn. For those wondering about mowing height before winter you can simply lower your mower a few notch or two and that will be fine. Clean up your fall leaves as well so they don't smother the grass. I also discuss how I winterize my lawn equipment. Finally I have been working on a little segment about Madison County Iowa from the Bridges of Madison County fame so check that out at the end of the video!

you know your cinematography skills are on point when simple yard work is mesmerizing
Definitely! We don't need Hollywood technology!
Hollywood is unnecessary in our nation... actually.
Man, I came for the lawn videos, I stay for the bonus material and production quality. There's a difference in the channels I watch purely for the education value, but here you get education and entertainment. This channel is a rare gem of RUclips.
Thank you!
Thanks for the video. I just told my wife (after I made her sit down and watch “that lawn guy”) that your channel is the only one on RUclips that I diligently watch *every video*. And topping that, you inspired me to put down winter rye for the first time in my 17 years of having a house and grass in Arizona. I’ve always let my grass go dormant and never planted winter grass... but you inspired me to do it and wow does it look good! Thanks for what you do!
Love that ryegrass!
The cinematic masterpiece, coupled with a simplistic/effective narration at the end..."EPIC"!!!
Your gift is appreciated!
Thanks for the Bonus Footage! I grew up in that area of Iowa and I still enjoy going back and "exploring". I have many happy memories and the peace and quiet of the countryside is highly therapeutic.
"Honey, that ryan guy is vacuuming his grass again."
Aw man you beat me to it!
Hahaha
Neighbors. Don’t even get me started.......
"Babe, I know, but have you seen his grass? I mean it looks like sissy grass, but would you just look at those stripes!?! Maybe we need to start vacuuming our yard."
Dude that’s hilarious I was thinking the same thing
Awesome Vid Ryan! Your grandpa is a very smart man and I am sure that ladder was his as well! The Bonus footage was superb with the narration! You are so, so right about us taking for granted what is right outside our own back door! Loved this vid, one of your best! Until Spring! Peace Chad Upstate NY
Personally I love this time of year because the lawn tends to get as dark and lush as it will all year and nature begins its amazing display of color. Just like how a farmer reaps what he sows the fruit of our labors are not in vain, we just don’t sell our crops to the local grain elevators like they do :). This also when I normally begin tree care at a youth camp and my how I’ve missed it since I was recovering from major shoulder and bicep surgery last year. My project lawn across town is also one of the darkest lawns in the neighborhood and all I can think about is what’s next. I’ve already begun my budgeting, planning for next year, and purchasing some of my supplies to beat the Spring rush.
I always enjoy your camera angles, perspective, choice in music for the video, and your commentary. It would be nice to see more of this for travels including your first impressions when seeing new grass types like Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine, etc. I think your perspective is what makes your videos so interesting.
I just might have some warm season grass in my future
Ryan Knorr Lawn Care Nooooooooo! ☹️
Dang son! That film making tho! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
:)
Beautiful bonus footage! Love your skills with camera and editing. Very well done.
Thanks for all your hard work on the videos this year. Anxious for the next one.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I hope you feel better soon. The lawn is looking schmickers. The foreshadowing of a move to a new homestead with more land gave me chills
Love watching your vids. The effort and time invested does not go unnoticed. You live in a beautiful place, all that nature... thank you for sharing this with us.
Thanks! Lots of time put into this one for sure
I recommend that people thoroughly clean their lawn mowers. Grass has a high moisture content and can work like a sponge holding moisture against the metal. Even aluminum will oxidize. Of course for the extreme types a good coat of car wax after a good power washing ensures no rusting and less grass to clean off the deck next season. Saves time in the long run.
TheSuperGreenDude , thanks for that advice 👍🏿
@@heinzkitzvelvet not if it's the amazing aluminum deck 😁
Thanks Ryan for a great season. I watched all the videos and enjoyed all of them. I will see you next year. Take care.
Wow. I'm a bit speechless after this video. I truly appreciate the work you put into all of you content. The hours it may take to edit just a 10 or 15 second clip does not go unnoticed and it is definitely very much appreciated. Thank for all you do in our community, Ryan. It has been an awesome year, even better than the last, and next year is going to top this one!
Thank you! It is truly an amazing thing to be able to share what I love
Thank you for all the great videos this year. Never thought In a million years I could have the best looking lawn in my neighborhood ( and far beyond). I get compliments all the time and I owe it to you. Looking forward to next season and beyond
Your hard work is what gets you the results!
Great season Ryan! Thanks for the reminder to appreciate the little things and not to miss out on the beauty that surrounds us! Cheers friend...
See you next season. A rewind of vintage clips will keep my busy until then. Thank you for spreading your knowledge.
Glad to help!
Great message...."take time for the simple things in life!" Great video again! Always remember, the best is yet to come!
Those little Scotts spreaders -- if you sneeze they'll tip over. Very nice closing footage. Thank you for a great season and looking forward to next Spring.
I’ve now seen many of your videos, and all have been informative. However, this was by far your best production. Tastefully edited and well thought out. Great job, young man.
Hey Ryan, you hit the nail on the head - enjoy the little things in life, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things . THANKS FOR ALL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS- 👍❤️👌
Thanks!
Another great video Ryan. I do soil testing in the early part of the year (late February) and in July. I live in North Texas. I make my budget for the year (for fertilizer at least) on the February test, and use the July test to treat for deficiencies before the end of the season.
I love to explore different places, what I just saw that you showed us looks absolutely beautiful and amazing
Another great video Ryan. I really enjoy watching the details of your videos. It’s been fun seeing your channel grow. Keep em coming. 👍
This guy is literally the GOAT at making vids! Like Peter McKinnons best friend or something..... your the man Ryan! Thank you for what you do!
I wish I was best friends with Pete! haha
Wow thank you Ryan for sharing this video with us and saving the best for last!!! Love it !!!
Lots of time spent on the last part but I enjoyed every minute of making that
Ryan, thank you for sharing your knowledge and especially all the time it takes to make videos like this one. I don't think I would be the only one to agree that we would enjoy watching you adventure throughout the winter videos, even if they don't include lawn care.
I never stop creating so hopefully I'll share a few things :)
Awesome bonus footage. Your vids are getting as awesome as the grass you grow 👌🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
How can a video about winter lawn care make me feel feelings? GREAT video production! Thanks for putting these together for us.
Ryan, you have some of the most well made videos on RUclips! The content is very informative and easy to understand. I look forward to seeing more.
I appreciate it!
your creativity level is 100!!!! Amazing edits and the video overall. Thanks for all the good advice.
Another great vid Ryan. I found your channel this year and its been inspirational for me in many ways. My lawn has never been better and I truly enjoy watching your videos right to the end. Keep Up the great work. The lawn community has been growing this year and you are definitely setting the pace. Thank You
Thanks for the kind words!
Hi Ryan, Thank you for sharing your knowledge in 2019. Love your bonus story and cinematography. :)
This is amazingly beautiful and I strongly feel the same way you do about grass and nature.
Love the Video Ryan - very heartfelt and honest. Well produced as well - Love every bit of it.
Wow! What a nice video! My lawn here is white, not green anymore. Hoping I did enough this fall and that my lawn will be a lot nicer next spring. Thank you very much for your help.
One thing is for sure, If you guys move, I will still watch your adventures in the lawn. You are the man! 👊😎
Great video! You are the best at camera angles and music. I lived in Winterset for a short time and it brought back some great memories.
Very well done as usual. Thanks for a great season of videos and finally a real movie set reference. Cheers.
I love the bonus! Enjoy the little things. Great message.
Wow! Beautiful Madison County piece! Wonderful writing, music and filmography!
Ryan, out of all the "lawn guys" I follow, you by far have the best cinematography. And I truly mean cinematography. Silver screen level stuff. You truly are an expert in many "fields" which make your videos exceptionally enjoyable to watch. Well done! Can't wait until next season!
Thank you!
Great winterizing video. Awesome bonus Footage Ryan. Don't let the cameras go dark over winter. Thank you for sharing.
It’s 5:30am where I am, and now I’m ready to go explore the crawfish ponds around my house. Thanks Ryan! Lol
Ryan- this was a spectacular video. Thank you for all that you do for the community.
Thanks!
Love your comments at the end. I live in Oregon and love to explore the area just around me too. So beautiful. You can find this anywhere though if you look.
Love the end of the video bud! I haven't checked in with you in a while but it's this exact reason. I got into canoeing and adventuring this year and recently did a solo trip up in Algonquin, Canada. It's such an incredible experience! The lawn is nice and all, but remembering to get out and enjoy life is always more important. Ps: your filming is just getting better and better!
Sounds like you had a great time!
This is the 1st video that I have seen of yours but WOW! It is so well produced! Keep up the great work!👍🏽
Thanks for a great season! Looking forward to the next!
Ryan. Excellent Vlog... You got some talent with editing and photography. Love the vids.. keep it up.
Man I’m excited for you Ryan. I hope you find that new spot soon
Great video and great editing, you’ve learned a lot.👏👏
Must say, you’ve out done yourself with that bonus feature. Not just a channel about keeping a great lawn, some great B-roll and editing too. Keep it up!.. From across the pond.
Great video Ryan!!!! The bonus footage is awesome.... Have a great winter.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Holy moly that was an amazing video!!! Bro! Good job!
Thanks!
Nothing like a good weekend drive. Try to take one at least once a month with the wife. I was a country boy and she is a city girl. She’s always amazed at all the nooks and crannies there are that I know about.
My grandpa used to know every inch of the country but could never give me any directions other than "over by so and so's house" :)
Just Another Awesome Video Ryan. Double High Five Buddy !!!
Thanks!
Just finished the video and subscribed to your channel. Awesome information and production! Thanks!
Loved the bonus footage, thanks for another great season. I really enjoy the way you film and edit your videos. Hoping for some over the winter.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Let's get some AC/Heat in your shed so you don't have to relocate all your stock for the winter. Send me an email at Emerysgeneralservice@gmail.com. We can discuss it. I appreciate your videos and help on my lawn!!
Not just lawn care but so much more. Thanks for the extra at the end.
The footage just keeps getting better and better 👌🏿
That was a very cinematic final scene. You are very talented and I have noticed over the past year how much better you have gotten at filming and editing your videos and your ability to story tell. Thanks for all your help :)
Thanks!
Bonus footage was awesome work!
Nicely done bonus footage, Ryan.
Watching all these older video's can't wait until spring.
Ryan, great job brother as usual!..of all the RUclipsrs in the lawn care community, you are easily the most humble and accessible in my opinion...Your videos approach film quality and yet you are still as matter-a-fact as always!...don't ever change...and Go Twins!..my second favorite MLB team to my Nats....Paul
I appreciate the kind words!
I see a sprinkler system being installed next spring 👍great videos this year Ryan thanks

I dont usually comment but i really enjoyed the season of videos you put together. You are and old soul and i think i am too which is what draws me and others to your channel. Keep it going man. You are on to something here. Thanks again
One of my fav comments on this video. Thank you. I consider myself very old haha
Awesome footage and I appreciate the hard work you put into editing the video.
Thank you!
Awesome Ryan! Thanks for a great year. I hope you have a few like Duluth or this one coming over the winter. 👍
Hopefully a few here and there!
Dude loved the end! As a fly fishermen I get to explore the back roads a lot. Bridges over unknown waters is music to my ears.
There's nothing quite like the back roads!
Thanks is for the great season and all the tips!
Another great video. Thanks for sharing.
Wow ure an inspiration to all of us! Love seeing all ur videos, thanks for a sneek peek into Iowa!
Thanks for watching!
Your back yard looks amazing at 2inches. Reminds me of my grandparents lawn I take car of. I am cutting it at 2 right now. Might go shorter next year who knows. Keep up the good work.
Definitely staying there or around that mark from now on. It looks way better
Video was great especially the bonus footage.
Thanks!
Loved the bonus footage. Simple and free. Great videography!
Thanks!
Dude. Great video. If there was a Best Picture in lawn videos this one would win for sure!
Very cool. Your channel has inspired me to start taking closer look at my lawn and get rid of pre- paid lawn maintenance plans (aka: pros)
. Great video- Thanks alot.
Glad to help!
Production is on point. Looking forward to 2020 videos and whats in store.
I'm looking forward to it as well!
Great story in the end. Thanks for sharing!
As usual...a great video Ryan.
Nicely done for our little community
Another great, Ryan Knorr production! I feel like I am watching a movie from time to time. In order for us to appreciate what you are doing, how many hours goes into an 18:30 long video, Ryan??? Great job as always.
Oh man...the lawn stuff I have down pretty well from lots of practice with shooting and editing so it goes fairly fast.. edits usually take 4-6 hours depending on what is going on
The ending of this between days of shooting and trying to pick music and all of that...about 12 hours edit time
@@ryanknorrlawncare, do you have a home server for storage of all the raw footage? I mean 20 min 4k videos don't come without a size penalty. You need to hookup with Linus Tech Tips to get a server to store that content. I'm guessing you have a huge collection of external HDDs with a some sort of organization system. The production quality is of the best quality found on the RUclips platform.
No server but I have things fairly organized and external drives are so cheap now and work well
@@ryanknorrlawncare well done man, Great videos. I like how you slow things down and put in time with the extra content. Really enjoy your channel
If watched this one several times and have enjoyed it more each time. Great lawn information and beautiful bonus footage award those who watch to the end.
Man roll on Spring i say...Your video's are very high quality mate class.
That was a really well thought out and put together video Ryan. Really enjoyed it!
Thanks!
Awesome video, well done, and I love the message! Always great content👌🏻👍🏻
Thanks!
Great videography. Truly enjoyed the ride.
Thanks!
Love the style of the video Ryan!
Thanks!
Great videos! Keep up the great work.
You did such a great job on this video.
