@@BuJammy 20 sets per week on biceps is not thr issue but if you're doing that in one workout then you will actually get less gains than if you did 3-4 sets per workout 2-3 times a week.
@Old Skool Bodybuilding Routines I spend about 3 hours in the gym per workout 3x a week performing many heavy compounds and some isolation in the end. I do this outside of the main combat sport I compete it which requires its own training. This has nothing to do with being lazy, I've noticed more gains in my biceps doing 6-9 sets per week direct bicep work whilst getting most of my overall size and development from heavy compounds. Anyone who's doing 20 quality sets on biceps a week is probably severely lagging in many other body parts. It's better use of any naturals times to spend most of their time doing compounds with some isolations a couple times a week for maximum recovery and growth rather than doing a typical roid-head body part split with roid-head volumes.

Yea I have to build up to the heavy weight also and part of it is letting my joints tendons adjust to the pressure as they will become compressed. I remember being unable to use my arms after benching 405lb for 2 reps the first time even with progressively increasing weight per set from the joint compression.
Primary functions of the biceps is flexion of the elbow and supination of the forearm, but it also serves to assist shoulder elevation. Lee was wrong. For maximum congestion you should move foward your elbows
