Nix the plant shelf in the bedroom. I think it would just looked cluttered, and you really don't want to draw your vision up to the ceilings anyway because they are plain. A little plant in the brown pottery piece would give the room the little life that it needs. I put art in my bathroom as well. A nice orchid would look nice on the vanity, and I find they do so well in a bathroom because of a shot of steam they get from showers, and they like low light. Just a suggestion.
I agree with those against a shelf over your bed. Your headboard is tall and tufted, a shelf would be too busy. Also, the headboard, curtains, and light fixtures add elegance to the room. A shelf would take that away. Perhaps a small shelf or two on the wall with the 2 art pieces. It would display your treasures nicely, and you can view them from all angles of your room So happy for you!

I found the best fake tree at Hobby Lobby on sale half price. I'm not a fan of fake plants, but sometimes they do best in certain spots.

I love how serene your bedroom is. I'd hesitate to put a shelf above the bed. I think that it looks quiet, just what I like in a bedroom.
I wouldn’t putt a shelf above the bed. You have a high headboard and adding a shelf would be too much. Also, I think it would be a safety hazard.
I’ve been nervous to start actively reselling because I never want to become a “hoarder” in my living spaces. It really inspires me to see that you have so much in your ebay store, yet you’re so tidy and almost minimal in your home. It can be done, and I’m determined to keep that balance too
They are so organized and have all that basement space so it works out perfect.
Find one space/nook and start there. I put shelving in the wall recess built to hold a china cabinet (it never did, lol).
The bedroom is looking great. Small design tip: Try bringing your new swivel chairs a bit closer to the table in between. They are too pulled apart presently. And in the bathroom, try lowering your landscape print. The chief mistake folks make hanging art, is they put it way too high. Hugs!

Congrats on the sales. I vote "no" for the shelf above the bed. Also, to size up the art in the bathroom, consider hanging a larger wood frame around it. It would almost appear 3D as the art piece would float inside the frame and the wall would serve as the mat borders.

Actually, I have one of those antique long, thin fireplace mirrors over my bed. It looks wonderful, but for the longest time, I worried about it falling on our heads. Now I really don't think about it. Just have to make sure it's secure.
Hey Karen - You have such beautiful taste! I love your bedroom exactly as is with nothing over the headboard. What about the new shelf that you want in the bathroom below the print with some greenery on the shelf? Anyway, I know you'll make it fabulous. Your bedroom is peaceful…love it. Adding a shelf will make it look common and perhaps cluttered.
Hi Karen. I am a customer as of last week (I bought the Talbots pink blouse...it was exciting to see you pull it for shipping!) Anyway I am an interior designer from Houston. I don't normally volunteer my opinion but you asked. I wouldn't put anything above your bed. I've done many of those extra tall headboards and you normally don't put anything above unless it has an extremely high ceiling but even then, not necessarily. I like bedrooms to be calm and uncluttered. Your bedroom looks very nice as it is.

I truly think the shelf above your bedhead would make the room way too busy, especially when you have items on it. Also could be a bit dangerous if the items accidentally fell, as they would fall on your heads potentially. Less is more sometimes. A large painting or print that is not too loud in colours could bring a nice focus to the room. Gosh you definitely don’t need our advice. You have such a natural lovely eye for decorating and style. Your and Rogers house inside looks fabulous. ❤❤❤
I really can't picture a shelf over the bed! It's so beautiful as is. I think it would take away from the look of the room and bed. Besides it would be a dust collector.. another thing to dust. Especially right over the bed 🤧
You'll probably be happy just with the potted plant in the corner when you find one. If you don't find a potted plant by Christmas,
a beautiful small Christmas tree would be cozy especially on snowy days. Hobby lobby had a couple beautiful slim trees for that corner. At most above the bed maybe a print that's longer between the windows. But it's beautiful like it is. Sometimes less is more 💐
Well- I love a good shelf- but your bedroom has a tranquil vibe. The bathroom is more masculine- I think it would be nice to do the wooden shelf with brackets in the bathroom either under your new artwork or on the wall that you said needed artwork as you walked out of the bathroom. I could see it with pretty pottery pieces you love, plants, rustic bottles… very Ralph Lauren ❤❤❤

I’m OCD to a fault. I agree with everyone, no shelf over bed. Headboard is the focal point. Two small prints on wall, place darker matted print on bottom, lighter matted print above. Dark is heavy, light is lighter, but just my opinion. Y’all have a beautiful primary suite!
“Another country heard from”! So hear goes, my opinion, no to the shelf above the bed! For all the reasons everyone else mentioned. Just a suggestion, maybe a flat, scrolled, iron plaque thing above the bed. I have one above two living room picture in my living room. I have very high ceiling, so it was just what that wall needed. (Do you keep track of returning customer? Because I am one! 😂)
HinKaren, curious if you keep track of what you paid for the items you resell, for tax purposes? I’ve only dabbled in reselling, so it sure how that works. Would love a video showcasing how you keep track of your expenses. Really enjoying your videos and I think your local thrift stores have really great things.
I think I would put something oval above the bed. The bedroom looks very serene, but everything is square. I thing an oval serene picture in greens would be lovely. Love your picture in the bathroom.
Loved seeing your beautiful bedroom. What a blessing the 2 of you found each other at this stage in your lives. Thank God you both love and understand reselling. It would likely be a challenge if the other person hated it!
Love to see you switch from tide to tru earth or Freddie’s laundry sheets. Do a fantastic job doesn’t harm environment like tide and the plastic container it comes in. My grandchildren thank you.

I think a wood shelf under the landscape in the bathroom would be beautiful. You could display a few “pretties” and it would help take up some of the space on that wall. Love your home and your videos!
I believe the lamp shade is actually a ceiling light fixture. My mom has that in her house.

Gorgeous bedroom. You have amazing taste! I would never hang anything over my head that can fall on me in my sleep! With the grand headboard it does not need anything else. ❤

Your lovely room doesn't need anything else. I wouldn't put anything above the bed. The more we put into a room, the more attention is drawn away from the very nice things already in it. If you must have a shelf, maybe you can find another place to put it. I suggest a small one to hold just a plant and two or three of your favorite books laying sideways on top of each other. Ask your husband what he thinks. Men are so practical, and they usually don't like a lot of "stuff." I widowed young but my son always kept my decorating in check. LOL (BTW: I have a shelf that looks almost exactly like yours with the same type of natural wood and rustic looking brackets.)

I would move the two smaller pictures and hang them below the larger picture on the other wall to make a grouping giving you an empty wall for a shelf or shelves.Things in threes or odd numbers are more pleasing! I also think the bathroom picture is a little high. No shelf above the headboard. Maybe something round or oval to soften all the straight lines and pick up the roundness of the chairs! Love how clean and organized you are! Makes things more peaceful!
The bedroom looks complete without a shelf, so I probably wouldn’t put one there, but whatever you choose will be simply beautiful. 💜

I prefer that you DON'T put a shelf above the bed, but it's your house. :) I think in your bathroom, I would move the landscape print so you can enjoy it from the tub and buy a larger piece of art for the wall near your shower. Just my opinion.

Love your new addition. A wrought Iron and wood shelf would tie in the bench you thrifted but it may also be too busy in that small space above the headboard. I would somehow have Rodger hold a board up there and see how it would look first.

You & Rogers Bedroom & Bathroom is so peaceful, relaxing & beautiful. My vote is No with the heavy shelf above the bed. It's perfect just the way it is. I was thinking the beautiful print in the bathroom seems to small on that big wall. I would move it on the wall by the soaking tub. So while you're in the tub you can enjoy looking at the print and daydream. I just know you will find something else more suitable for the big wall. Maybe a variety of 3 pictures would look very nice in that space. I also remember when you found the bench you have at the end of the bed. I fell in love with it. What a fantastic find!

Love the video. What a great bedroom you have. I would not put anything more over the bed, it would distract from all the other things. That's me personally, I'm sure whatever you do would look good but I do think it is perfect as is. Add some greenery, plants, flowers... 🥰

Putting a shelf above your head is bad feng shui. just saying no to a shelf above the bed. but a nice piece of art above your headboard would be good.

I think adding a shelf above the bed would make it look crowded, with the headboard you have. I do however think a nice green plant on the dresser next to the bath entrance would look nice. Also perhaps pull some colors out of the prints for a few colorful pillows on the bed or on the chairs. Perhaps lumbar ones. Maybe some deep siennas or deep pumpkin. Your home is so pretty and gives such a calm air.

Do you have a family member or friend that you might do a trade out of work with them? I have found doing my drafts first and allowing my adult son or husband take photos, drop photos in and make item live assists me a great deal.
@@darleneshreeves6225 Don't be discouraged. I'm sure you are in good company, myself included, from time to time. I have found if I just make a scheduled commitment to list, say 3 items each day, that is very doable. Once those 3 are listed, go "shopping" from your stash for 3 more and have them ready for the next day. This will give you the satisfaction of progress without being overwhelming. Eventually you will get done! God bless!
That's me. I haven't listed anything since last spring. 60 some tubs full of antiques and collectibles. Have to get off my booty and get it done. With the new tax law, it freaked me out, I wasn't keeping track of anything. Need to get it. organized 😮
The wings of the birds are made of driftwood. I agree with others, a shelf above that headboard would be too much. It would take the focus from your beautiful headboard.

I vote "no" for the shelf above the bed. It would break up the serenity of the pale vibe of the room and draw the eye right to its dark color. The dark furniture, however, anchors the room beautifully.

Ummm, a shelf over the bed is a No from me. Maybe it has to do with growing up in earthquake country but I couldn't stand having something that could fall on me above my bed.

Hello Karen. I vote No to the shelf above the bed. I also agree the art in the bathroom is a little undersized and hung a little too high. It is a lovely piece of art and one that you love so, yes hang it somewhere that you can enjoy it every day. I love the idea of a tall plant or tree in the corner in your new basket. I have a degree in Interior Design, which impresses absolutely no one but I don't think you need anything else above the bed. I LOVE the bench at the foot of the bed. What a find!!

Love your bedroom styling. Agree with folks who say no need for shelf above headboard, it is attractive on its own. Might try the small single artwork on opposite wall, above the corner dresser, but that is just an idea so you can enjoy from chairs and bed.
I have landscapes, oils, water colors and all the things in all my bathrooms!! Spend a lot of time in the primary especially!!! Love it and agree

Bedroom is a beautiful haven. Wood shelf might be too “heavy” aesthetically. If they offer the wood shelf in a white wash or lighter shade, it might not appear as heavy.
Your headboard is tall and enough for the space. If you add a shelf it will make it too congested.Your home as a whole, is very lovely.
For over the bed I suggest a greenery garland type item, lightweight, that won't hurt you if it falls down. You'll have to take it down occasionally to shake the dust out of course.

Yes the print in bathroom is nice but it would be perfect size for area by tub a larger double the size would be better on shower side. Your style is very clean and the headboard is a statement focal point like an outfit don’t over accessorize w a shelf
I think you have a perfect amount on the bed wall. I wouldn’t add a shelf over the bed. I like the shelf a lot but not there.

Your have a serene space in the bedroom. two options above the bed are a long narrow framed print in soft colors, or, a long narrow decorative carved wood piece.
Roger and you need to plan a trip to Paris to all the flea markets! You can locate some very unique items and numerous amounts of paintings!
You would love researching Hudson River School art. My favorite artists of all. Landscape art! I bought a Hudson River book online from Thrift Books and framed some of the pages. Here's an example. Hanging in my reading room with lots of other landscapes.
I think I would put a long kind scroll work above your bed, or nothing. 😊
Love your shipping videos Karen. Your home is really turning out beautifully. The chairs in the bedroom are gorgeous and look great. The plank above the head board is something I have with plants. It looks beautiful and I love it, but, I am too old to keep climbing up there to take care of them. Don't have the heart to take it down....it's gorgeous.....I think it would look beautiful and add great texture to your bedroom and Roger is so much taller than you and could help water the plants. Just a tip, I would move the toilet paper roll holder to the back side of your cabinet instead of the wall with the gorgeous painting…then perhaps put something else on that wall since the painting size is a bit small for the size of that wall in your bathroom…just my opinion of course. And no to shelf above your bed…if your headboard was not so high up the wall then yes but it’s pretty high.
Love the painting in your bathroom - its prefect for that simplistic moody aesthetic you have going on- and those mirrors make that bathroom! 👌No to the shelf , I think it would be too much horizonal going on with the curtain rods and the headboard, but can totally see you finding the prefect painting to put there though!!

Real plants would need to be watered and that would be very high for that, and fake plants are dust catchers
Even for figurines and trinkets, it seems quite high for dusting

love the chandelier!!! my bathroom has a wedding cake chandelier in it!! i also have a print where you have your landscape one in the bathroom of Italy! it is a watercolor & is doing fine with the humidity right beside the shower so don't worry !!! Got it at an estate sale!!
