As a beginner, I can confirm that the best option is to go to a local shop and ask to get a complete there. Even if you buy the cheapest stuff for it, it's still better than any generic brand on Wall-Mart. At my local shop, I got mine for about 60 bucks, and the grip tape was free. Price and deals may vary depending on where you are, and if the parts are from national or imported brands.
walmart boards aren't all that bad anymore, i broke my trucks on the first day (4 stair) and the bearings were trash but the deck stayed in tact, just new bearings/trucks and viola.
I guess it depends on the manufacturer of the board. I wouldn't trust a walmart board here in Brazil at my current weight of 280 pounds, even with proper trucks. Specially when they are going for 50 bucks here, and you could get a much more reliable complete at a local shop for just a little bit more. I guess it depends on what you can manage to get. If you're fine with a walmart deck with good trucks, so you can upgrade your deck later, it's an option. I play guitar, and I kinda look at skateboards like I look at guitars: you could probably get a great mid-range guitar for good cash, but if you can find a cheaper entry guitar that's comfortable to play, and you can upgrade the hardware and electronics as times goes, you could. It depends on the person, really. Some do really well with just a stock guitar off the store, others do better with one they customized to their personal taste. Same goes to skateboards, and everything else, if you really think about it.
I started skating on a penny, then bought a longboard, but without the intention of learning tricks. Now I would like to learn tricks, so I will buy a proper board. If you want to learn tricks, go for the popsicle shaped boards.
I do tricks on my longboard. Never ridden a popsicle shaped board and don’t really intend to. But I’m also not doing many skate park tricks. I am working on ollies and shove-it’s but mostly doing longboard dancing and cruising.

if I just want to cruise, and I don’t want to learn like epic tricks or anything, is a longboard a good option if I’ve NEVER EVER used a longboard or a skateboard ?
I have a longboard and have been skating for about 6 months now.... I saved up for 3 months (it was 75 dollars) I feel really bad now since it was one of the ones you told me not to get.
I’m about to ride a longboard with the intention of cruising at first. It’s going to be my first board. I know eventually I will want to learn tricks so what kind of wheels should I buy?
I started skating 2 weeks ago with my sister's cruiser and now I'm pretty confortable riding around and I'm starting to learn how to tictac BUT I can't get up on sidewalks, like I can ride it down but not the other way around my board just won't get up. I can push on the tail and get the nose on the sidewalk, but the tail just won't follow... Is it because it's a cruiser or am I doing it wrong ?
I wish I saw this before I bought my penny board I live in a neighborhood with a TON of big hills and I wish I got A longboard for that reason because I get the speed wobble then fall on my face. I forgot to mention I have a ripstick but its. A pain because I live in Ohio so I forget how to get on it. And start it off
June Vang-Sitcler yeah a penny board is good for just cruising (especially if you have small feet) long boards are also good for cruising too and help your balance a little more
I actually learned to ride-like getting comfortable on a board, pushing off, that sort of thing- on a nickel board by Penny Boards. I'm still new to skating in general, but I would say that, if you're a smaller guy like me, the nickel board is a really un-intimidating way to enter skating. I find it much easier to get around on my cruiser than my popsicle deck, and in that I mean I find I balance better and feel more confidence on the cruiser. And once you're good at moving around on your penny, it's not too difficult to hop onto a popsicle deck and start learning tricks (my ollies are coming along-skater trainers do help, despite the stigma). But absolutely do NOT get a regular 22'' Penny Boards; that's like having a roller skate on your foot. Plus Nickel boards are quite cheap and you get a quality complete for the money. But if you're a big dude, get something bigger; my buddy rides a penny and it FLEXES under his weight, so he just prefers the popsicle deck he turned into a cruiser. But really, I'm just here to defend the Penny Board because I really believe they're good beginner boards, and if you decide you don't really want to do tricks you don't blow money on a nice popsicle deck.
WayOutDere9874 Im still a beginner but I started out on a penny board. Helped me balance a lot better on a proper skateboard, but I recently tried a trick on my penny board, I landed bad and the board popped off the ground. It hit my forehead. Had to get 5 damn stitches.
I’ve had a popsicle w cruiser wheels for a few years and I’m just now trying to learn but it’s so comfortable to ride I just haven’t started tricks yet
Ask a friend who skates they could hook you up The board may not look good but you gotta know they run way better then Walmart boards Also they will skate with you and teach you if their a pro

I’m not john but I’ve heard you can get a good board for a much lower price on facebook market place. Most of them are used but manufactured by great brands and still useable/great condition

I am 6 foot with size 12 feet and want a board to cruise on and take to college whilst being portable. I have looked at the landyachtz dinghy but still not sure. Any suggestions?
Kids should get there parents to buy them a used pro skateboard off craiglists, ebay etc. You can get one in really good condition for under $40 instead of spending almost $200 for a brand new one.
Hi. Whats your opinion with the oval shape Elos skateboard? I am a complete beginner wanting to learn skateboard with my son. The name purpose for skateboarding is to get from A to B...
i was lucky enough to find an unlocked skateboard at walmart and tested it out (definitely going to start alongside my inline skating). Grip tape was kinda eh, the wheels were kinda rubberish, so it seemed more like a cruiser board (what im looking for. a to b, not tricks), and the trucks were metal. i dont remember if they were bent or not but hopefully it isnt, might fuck around and buy it (with a better grip tape)
I bought a 36 inch kryptonics long board. I was wondering if it's a good brand. I read alot of reviews and it was only 75$ which is in my budget. I heard someone say that kryptonics is a bad brand but I heard only good reviews about it. Is kryptonics a good skate brand?

if I just want to cruise, and I don’t want to learn like epic tricks or anything, is a longboard a good option if I’ve NEVER EVER used a longboard or a skateboard ?
When I first started I learned all my tricks on a mini board now I land on my trucks constantly and perfect,
the actual vlog starts at 3:55 :)
i back this

I have a longboard and have been skating for about 6 months now.... I saved up for 3 months (it was 75 dollars) I feel really bad now since it was one of the ones you told me not to get.
k r dont listen they are rly fun
I miss the days when you were in Brailles videos. You, Doug, and Garrett were part of why I liked the changed and it's what led me back to yours
I’m about to ride a longboard with the intention of cruising at first. It’s going to be my first board. I know eventually I will want to learn tricks so what kind of wheels should I buy?
Imma just start cruising until I get to college that’s when I’ll put my time into doing tricks instead of homework
Notification squad!!! Keep up the good vids John :) Love from france ;)
this time its personal
porcelain jester you know what's up ;)
You should make trucker hats I just bought some socks but if you make some trucker hat I will definitely buy one or 2
dang maybe i should!
John Hill I'll buy one too🙌
Tobin Cocuzzo how come barely any of us want one they would be amazing
Tobin Cocuzzo nah normal hats are way better than trucker hats
I started skating 2 weeks ago with my sister's cruiser and now I'm pretty confortable riding around and I'm starting to learn how to tictac BUT I can't get up on sidewalks, like I can ride it down but not the other way around my board just won't get up. I can push on the tail and get the nose on the sidewalk, but the tail just won't follow...
Is it because it's a cruiser or am I doing it wrong ?
I have a WhiteFang skateboard and a beginner, any tips or advice? Super excited! I gotta be patient tho 😄
Longboard gang were u at
Aaaaaayyyyyyyyyeeeeeee wassup

The mini board was my first, it was actually really hard for me, I switched to a trick board and it's so much easier, although I can't do tricks
I guess you mean penny board and regular board
I wish I saw this before I bought my penny board I live in a neighborhood with a TON of big hills and I wish I got A longboard for that reason because I get the speed wobble then fall on my face.
I forgot to mention I have a ripstick but its. A pain because I live in Ohio so I forget how to get on it. And start it off
Bruhh same and i live in ohio too, i usually ride a scooter but im trying to learn how to ride a skateboard
I have a long board, penny, and electric but I use those for transportation and just riding but then I use a regular one to do tricks ✨
Me and my best friend are getting longboards together, super excited
SAME
@@squidwardstinkypoop NICE! Keep me updated on how it goes:)))
I lucked out with a Walmart Cruiser when I started, it rolled fine and worked overall. Still junk tho
all i want is to skate around with my friends, would a penny board be okay? i never plan on learning tricks.
June Vang-Sitcler yeah a penny board is good for just cruising (especially if you have small feet) long boards are also good for cruising too and help your balance a little more
l b thank you! i just got my penny board in the mail and it’s amazing🤩
What should I get if I want something that will rise smooth on rough roads and I want to cruise and maybe Ollie
I’ve had a popsicle w cruiser wheels for a few years and I’m just now trying to learn but it’s so comfortable to ride I just haven’t started tricks yet
Bruh I paid $40 for a Kryptonics Pennyboard *At Walmart*
I got a cruiser
@@elizabethvillarreal6556 Nice!!
@@elizabethvillarreal6556 are cruisers good for beginners?
@@georgiasmith264 It was good for me
Don’t they have plastic trucks
What about cruiser boards?
Collin Maxey you can still do tricks crusiers are just like normal but not popsicle shape and the tail is smaller
plus it is better for beginners since you can ride better on sidewalks and still do tricks
@@zipzero1632 But a normal skateboard is best for tricks. Because of the tip and tail, for beginners at least
Ask a friend who skates they could hook you up
The board may not look good but you gotta know they run way better then Walmart boards
Also they will skate with you and teach you if their a pro
Komplete Reptile fan first of all, its they’re not their. Second, u used absolutely no punctuation in this sentence.
Hunter Leanna ok sorry man
Heyeyeyey! I use my 42" longboard mostly for cruising and almost never for tricks. Do you reccomend any bearings and wheels just for that?
What board should I get instead ?
I’m into skating but need a good board for tricks. Which ones are recommended?
I love being Asian You can be so tall when your older downside your small when your younger
"Everyone here......looks exactly like me" lmao..😂😂
They aren’t called penny boards are called cruisers and they’re great for beginners because all you do is cruise on them you don’t use them for tricks maybe do a bit of research
Getting 669 subs with no Videos sounds like someone bought a penny board
They actually are called penny boards. Go to a vans store Penny is what started cruiser boards. Maybe YOU should do some research dude.
Drink ur pfp
Lol stfu u tik tok kid loser buys penny
Hey John hill I’ve been skating a Walmart board and have been wanting another board do you have a suggestion for a skateboard under 50 dollars?
I’m not john but I’ve heard you can get a good board for a much lower price on facebook market place. Most of them are used but manufactured by great brands and still useable/great condition
Im a beginner and I bought an $80 popsical 7.5 inch skateboard. I am on the shorter side and have a small shoe size so i hope itll work out
My boy John was off a glass of that red wine and just crashed out.
straight up zonked. haha
Off dat wine boi
Is it worth to buy a complete to begin with because I really dont have a clue about all the parts and shit
oskari that's what I did
Yeah just get a basic complete for $99 if you're starting out
I got a Walmart board bc my mom said that if after a while ion wanna skate anymore then she won’t care that she wasted 15 dollars instead of 60...but if I continue and learn stuff then ima get a good board :)
Did you got a good board?
Can you have a skateboard which you can use to cruise like on a cruiser AND doing an ollie (yeah just an ollie)?
I am 6 foot with size 12 feet and want a board to cruise on and take to college whilst being portable. I have looked at the landyachtz dinghy but still not sure. Any suggestions?
"Everyone here looks exactly like me"😂😂
Kids should get there parents to buy them a used pro skateboard off craiglists, ebay etc. You can get one in really good condition for under $40 instead of spending almost $200 for a brand new one.
I got a atom longboard for 56 dollars because it was on sale and so far its been good so idk i was lucky
at 4:14 i was like:bruhh wheres ur mask but then i realized it was 3 years ago...
6:44 "Everyone here, looks exactly like me" hahahahaha
Early squad lets goooooo

I got my board today for $10 at a thrift store and I haven't really tried it out yet but I was told it was good
han joy nice pfp
I bought a 36 inch kryptonics long board. I was wondering if it's a good brand. I read alot of reviews and it was only 75$ which is in my budget. I heard someone say that kryptonics is a bad brand but I heard only good reviews about it. Is kryptonics a good skate brand?
I was thinking of getting a small globe for campus and going to the store. Is a small cruiser a good choice 26" or 28? No tricks.
10:05 so its 10 min long to get money XD
