Nice. Was watching just to watch but learned something thats been bugging me was the measurement for in between. All i heard was "14" (wheel base*) and just clicked what they/it means now. My skateboard comes today. So excited with my old self

Our 3 Pros did make their own shapes with Paul Schmidt at PS Stix, but they aren't super crazy or different. You can see the video here: ruclips.net/video/ey40eVvLOT8/видео.html
Just gonna say, the 80’s one you had was actually an early 90’s board. The early 90’s ones had tiny wheels and the 80’s ones usually had VEEERY small noses, if not none at all, with big wide wheels.
Excellent video! If one of my previous video comments was of those you spoke about as inspiring this video idea, cool! And, I offer an update: I went on the Powell-Peralta site on Saturday and ordered an Andy Anderson Heron Flight Deck 9.13... According to the tracker it should be arriving this Friday!! I also picked up some Independent Slayer trucks, and currently looking at some Bones 59mm wheels. Lol... I forgot all the stuff that goes into building a board. Deck, trucks, hardware, bearings/washers/spacers, wheels, grip...
I love skating but I don't have my own skateboard, my friend was having one skateboard he helped me learning skating. I can't afford it bro , but when i watch your videos then i am thinking to buy it in future
I love Mike's enthusiasm. I used to skate in my teens many years ago 😂 but now as a 32 year old man I like the look of freestyle more since I've tried to street skate again in the past and it wasn't for me anymore.
I’m a brand new skater never skated in my life but I saw a sk8board in my garage it’s my moms old board it looks very weird though it’s green and blue says nash on it and only has one tail I came here for info. Thank you 🙏🏽
I got my forst board and didnt think about shape too much, because i wasn't aware about it. My brother got regular popsickle 8' and i got freestyle 8' and it has shorter wheel base. Can i still use it for street skating?
im curious what @Mike Osterman thinks of andy andersons board shape. from what i remember of andy talking about it, a lot of the unique things that set his shape apart from a popsicle shape, were intended to make freestyle tricks easier...but his board is so much different from a typical freestyle board. does mike think freestyle tricks are easier on andys board vs a popsicle?
Fyi to appropriately measure the wheelbase it’s hardware to hardware from the center of the hole, which will be slightly longer than baseplate to baseplate.
1:46 That's an early 90's shaped board. Christopher Hiett skates an 80's shaped board with a flat nose, just like the iconic Vision Gonz board 👍 Sorry to correct you Aaron 🙏❤️

As some one who is wanting to get into skateboarding this was a really interesting video for me! I'm thinking popsicle would be fine! Only thing that I am wandering is about whether I could skate as someone overweight or I would need to wait until after I have shifted the pounds.
we gotta get this same video again but for standard boards like Andy Anderson explaining his flight deck, Christopher Hiett explaining his fish board, etc etc the list goes on
When Aaron said I typically like my tail tapered and my nose really wide, I thought to myself have I been riding my skateboard backwards my entire life? I always assumed the wider end was the tail because that's where your dominant foot is most of the time popping tricks 🤷♂️
@@brailleskateboarding here I am 33 years old just realizing this 😂 granted I haven't skated since I was like 15 and am just now getting back in to it 🤷♂️. Thanks for the tip!
