I have the Braille Walmart complete and am blown away with the quality. Doesn't feel much different than my old pro board from World Industries and I'm older and coming back from a 10 year hiatus so I'm skating smaller stuff than I did back in the 90's and early 2000's on the World Industry, it's perfect to get my feet back in the water!
@@bretwhitten7038 The decks themselves are 7-ply maple pressed in the same factory that like 90% of all decks are pressed. The decks are fine except for the garbage heat transfer. Everything else about the complete is absolute trash. $50 isnt terrible for just the deck though.
I’ve seen people dissing the beginner complete on instagram, so I’m really keen to hear what you have to say about it. So far, what you’ve said about the water based adhesive does make a lot of sense. Some heavier duty skaters would notice that. But like you said, when you’re starting out, you shouldn’t be hitting 5-stairs anyways. By that point, you should have practiced everything else first, and furthermore, you probably would need a new board by then.
It was a completely inferior board. The trucks don’t grind and the bearings roll like sand. This dude clearly is maybe 5’10” and 165 pounds and he snapped it on the first large landing of the day. I would never put my kid on that skateboard.
as if Aaron called it at the end. what a legend. Aaron if you are reading this you are a all-star! i always root for you when you do games of skate. everyone knows your experienced but i think they don't know just how advanced!! awesome video, because of your channel i just built my setup today getting back on a board at 27 after 5 years. thank you!
Thanks for making my day… calling the tail snap and splits “and I really can’t do the splits today..” then with full confidence in the whitefang 3 block, you perform the tail snap to splits.. 😆
Dude great video! Sorry about your knee. OUCH! My thing with reviews is that beginners use beginner products. I’d love to see you put a beginner on each board and do some basic skating. We used to see it at guitar center that the staff could play any guitar but we were selling to parents trying to help beginners succeed and not quit. Thank y’all!!
I decided to get back on a board at the tender age of 38, first time since my early 20s. I purchased a new Element complete for £30 ($38) just get back into the swing of things and being a brand I remembered; I had high hopes for it. But... it was total trash, I was genuinely disappointed. The trucks were ridiculously loose despite how much I tightened them, it just made no difference. The board itself just felt heavy and 'muted' if that makes sense. Though I can't do any flip tricks anymore, the ollie and pop shuv I did manage felt gross - the pop sounded cheap as the amazon board. When it comes to skateboards, if you buy cheap, you buy twice.
Looking this video bevor going to bed and then a fc bayern München Jersey 😮. Just wanted to say thank you guys for bringing me back to skateboarding after 25 years... I am over 40 now and skate with my son every day it's possible. I forgot over the years what a wonderful lifestyle it is. Greets from Germany.
One thing to mention for the beginner complete vs the regular complete (the braille ones) is if you are a pretty heavy individual like me the beginner complete has a little more flex to it from your weight (but this could be anecdotal)
you should have done a "slo-mo" replay of Aaron saying "No! the board is going to break and i'm going to do the splits" lol... Aaron definitely foresaw his future on that one!

You can visibly see that the white fang has little to no snap its like dead wood. The Braille board has a ridgedness that gives it the snap your looking for. Even the sound of both boards hitting the floor the white fang sounds like its made from reused balsa wood 😂
If this is a new series, maybe compare the braille boards to pro models from different companies as well maybe? Wouldn’t be bad to see how they stack up.
I do appreciate the comparison between the two boards but as a skater you can see the braille board is just better quality. Even the pop on the braille board sounds sooo much better compared to the amazon board. However, for a absolute beginner learning to roll around I think the amazon board is the best 'starter' board especially for the price! But the braille board is that next step up before committing to a full pro deck. Great vid, keep up the great content! 🔥🔥
One thing about A LOT of cheap completes is the companies tend to overtighten the bolts on the wheels so it makes the bearings feel worse than they actually are. Make sure u guys loosen the bolts slightly on the trucks so the bearings can spin freely
When my brother got his first skateboard back in the day (must have been 99 or 2000), it was a cheap, Chinese thing we bought in ITaly. He took off the plastic wrap and the grip tape literally came away from light rubbing!

It took me until watching this video to realize that a backside boardslide has to do with where the ledge is (behind you) and not to do with how you spin to get there (frontside) . Can someone explain to me how you would differentiate a backside grind that you get into by turning frontside, from a backside grind you get into by turning backside (in terms of what you call it)?
Appreciated the comment on the plastic trucks at the beginning. My first ever board had plastic trucks, and I gave up skateboard because of it, only to pick it up again 20 years later. Don't buy boards with plastic trucks, don't let your parents buy you board with plastic trucks, and don't buy boards with plastic trucks for anybody. Better save for a little longer to get a board with metal trucks.
Bro, my first skateboard was a Pokémon from Walmart with plastic trucks... thing did what it needed to and never broke. I just upgraded to a Zero pro deck . Later on when I got better I messed around with the Pokémon board and was doing 50-50s, 5-0s and nosegrinds on the flat rail with it. It was funny not hearing the metal on metal sound though

i bought a board off amazon 3 weeks ago and eveything is wrong with it now i just got into skateboarding and now i feel like that board will be the death of me the bearings started giving trouble one week and the rubber which makes you turn is tearing more and more and the board it self is just too weak.
If you end up with a cheap complete, if it has metal trucks that can be adjusted enough that they're not flopping around, picking up some decent wheels and bearings makes the whole experience infinitely better. In my experience most cheap completes feel awful because the wheels barely roll. Yeah the decks almost always lack pop, but when you're going through the motions learning to ollie lacking pop doesn't really mean much as you don't have a point of reference if you've never skated a decent deck before.
U should do a test take that Amazon board and the braille board cover both graphics up with tape or something and have someone else try both boards. Kind of a blind test. Just put a mark on the tape on 1 board so u can easily tell em apart but they won’t be able to. Should regrip both of em to so they’ll look closer from top.
I bought my first real skateboard off amazon last year and I was finally able to learn how to ollie. I had walmart boards during my childhood and had no skater friends. I bought an Element board and i love it, as soon as I let the wheels hit the ground, the sound of it let me know it was the real deal 🤘🏽
Isn't the plastic under the trucks because the manufacturer make the deck come from an other place where they put plastic in before shipping? I don't know if it's understandable 😆

Just ordered a Darkstar complete here in Australia from one of the big surf/skate retailers 70% off and should be here in 2 days. Think the deck and amp apec 5 bearings are decent with half decent wheels but core trucks which I think are pretty cheap heavy duty aluminium with steel kingpins and axles and USA made bushings and pivot cups so not all bad on the trucks but for $60 AUD it’s a start back into skating after 10 years away from it and will upgrade the trucks to indie’s anyway
not sure what kind of board i have but it’s checkered on the bottom and the grip tape is rough (like concrete) any way i can identify it? it’s from amazon
Thing is cheap skateboards or any product often has little thought or design and the problem with grinding on that rail was due to terrible hangers on the trucks so they can't cross lock or lock in period and I'm assuming the shape of the inside of the wheels or the "cut" of them which also makes huge difference. That with the cheap quality wood of the deck itself which would be shocked if actually 7 ply Canadian Maple is probably 5 (Ply)wood
I just bought the baker but I wanted to get into it I was all day skater but I’m broke and old but got the baker set up then imma switch the trucks to Krux and get the rictas wheels

🎒🎒hi could you try a plastic penny board knock off and a wooden skateboard both have different versions of the BORED motive (available of Ebay) they are advertised as stunt skateboard the wooden skateboard being also advertised as entry level thanks in advance 🎒🎒
did you ever put two decks? let us see 14 ply thick board. it would be heavy to play the game of skate. what you think braille? you can do durability test, razor tail test too lol.
Do two completely different blank boards with same vinyls and same grip tape to where only person who makes up the boards know which is which, THEN have them skated and rate the tricks by someone who didnt build the boards so theres no bias. Dont reveal the scores or which board is which till after all tricks are done. This'll show skill vs board and 0 bias.
The fact that a pro board now, costs the same as a pro board 30 years ago, kinda blows my mind. I got my Mike McGill mini in 1988 and it cost about $110. Slime ball wheels, geman bearings. The whole deal. And you can still get a pro board for the same price. That's crazy
It'd be great if people at the park can also test the boards and rate them, that way everyone would see how better can an actually board made for skating be.
That could have been way worse. Now I know, I will not land any high drops with the Amazon board I'm learning on😅 got plenty of low ground basics to get anyway. thanks for uploading that, all of you

Need to test em against the pre built element completes, pick something that would actually give you a run for the money.
Good idea
Any chance we are going to get Braille house 3.0?
What’s harder? Heel or kick? I could never kick but had heels on lock. Buddy could kick on point but not heel.
The Jack London board... 😂 Buy the Braille complete.
do u guys have twin tail or twin nose boards on the braille site ?
I want to try the skateboarding but skateboard here in the Philippines is so expensive that's why I can't afford but i love skateboarding and i already experienced penny board
That prediction at the end though hahahaha
i have lived in 3 different time zones in the past year and i am so messed up on when the vids air
Haha yes, is it 10am, 1pm, 6pm?
I am getting back into sk8tin after giving it up for 12 years is 44 years old to old to get back into it
I just visited the braille shop and I discovered there’s no JD’s pro model deck 😢… when are you going to turn him a pro??
I was really hoping this would be a review on the Cal7 decks
Just broke my ankle today I was skating a half pipe and slide out and fel right on my ankle and fractured the growth plate in my ankle and fractured the tibia so I’ll be out of skating for a while sadly I’m bummed I can’t skate really sucks and the pain is pretty bad but I’ll binge watch the braille videos!
did u heal up well? and are you back at it skating?
@@gemguson I did start skating again just taking it slow for now dude! Thanks for checking
🎒🎒hi could you try a plastic penny board knock off and a wooden skateboard both have different versions of the BORED motive (available of Ebay) they are advertised as stunt skateboard the wooden skateboard being also advertised as entry level thanks in advance 🎒🎒
"I told you, I told you, I told you!!!" 😂😂😂
do a review like this of Roller Derby skateboards. i don't know how they do what they do for under 40$
did you ever put two decks? let us see 14 ply thick board. it would be heavy to play the game of skate. what you think braille? you can do durability test, razor tail test too lol.
Braille vid to wind down at the end of the day, das wassup😌
Do two completely different blank boards with same vinyls and same grip tape to where only person who makes up the boards know which is which, THEN have them skated and rate the tricks by someone who didnt build the boards so theres no bias. Dont reveal the scores or which board is which till after all tricks are done. This'll show skill vs board and 0 bias.
check this video out ruclips.net/video/qSWYZTpcBsw/видео.html
@@brailleskateboarding must have missed this one! Thanks!
The fact that a pro board now, costs the same as a pro board 30 years ago, kinda blows my mind. I got my Mike McGill mini in 1988 and it cost about $110. Slime ball wheels, geman bearings. The whole deal. And you can still get a pro board for the same price. That's crazy
Idk where you're buying your boards from
@@nunyabizness3882 You're right, you don't know
You can buy a Element board and one friend did buy one and it seemed very ok
Na
It'd be great if people at the park can also test the boards and rate them, that way everyone would see how better can an actually board made for skating be.
this is cool and I like that you guys tried the board Braille
They sell Brails on Amazon... so Brails are Amazon boards by association, right?
Hey bro I’m from Srilanka how do I get one of your boards
I AM ROLLING!!!!! Oh Aaron, I friggin knew that was going to happen the moment you said you were scared of it. LMAO
That could have been way worse. Now I know, I will not land any high drops with the Amazon board I'm learning on😅 got plenty of low ground basics to get anyway. thanks for uploading that, all of you
Dang lol my whitefang board is the one I have had for 4years and is was my first I wish I saw this before that but then again I was 12 when I got it i hope I can get a new one if I'm not still broke
you should have compared it with the braille wlamart board because the price range is similar I guess :)
We could do that!
@@brailleskateboarding love the fact that you guys are putting legit boards into walmart :)
I got a used white fang for my first board and all my friends beginner boards were trash comparatively! I still have it even after a couple years!
yeah just dont do any high gaps on it and itll last
Did Paul Schmidt make Schmidt Stix back in the day?
Yes!
Man those were some of the most creative board designs them and the Hasoi decks.
Still watching the vid, yall have a week to give me another sexy challenge to add to Mr Horatio Cruz's eventual drop in!
Love you, Braille team ❤
For reference so far it's Tetrimino board + Gobstopper shoes + Caster wheels!
Dang that is a good challenge
@@brailleskateboarding He'll be bodied within the first 5 seconds, but every week that goes by I'm adding something to the list according to the videos you make
@@brailleskateboarding If we get a video before the end of this week on Sunday, his only challenge is dropping in on the Braille complete. If not, then I'm going to keep on keeping tabs my boy😊
I would love to see the Amazon board with the same bearings as the braille complete in this format
