I was a retail employee for about 8 years, and this is very common for Wal-Mart and similar retailers. They put the boards out at 9 dollars because they'd still be able to recover more of their money than they would if they actually still had the product come tax season. These companies will get taxed for all inventory they have every year, so every year their goal is to get inventory as low as possible. They will definitely save more money than they lost on the boards when it comes to tax time, that's their whole game. If it helps, the board is DOPE for the price of 50, and absolutely insane for 9 bucks.

I really wanted the short-board, black one, or chocolate board, for close-range ticks and stuff. but I don't plan on getting hurt soon.. I can either read a couple more skateboard books or get my first board. I think it's the tony hawk board now. but not the cruiser board. not now; something like in-line skating or stationary practice. should you get a starter build-a-board? which wheel set do you choose? can I get the van's?... lol thanks, Eddie
My first real board was a braille complete board I got from a place called Ollie’s which is like a bargain store for 17 bucks that was two months ago and I’ve skated everyday since I have bought different boards since than cause I needed a wider one but I still have that braille board and it got me into skating and I love y’all’s videos

Facts I started in 6th grade with a Amazon board for like 20 and I gave up because I couldn’t even pop it but I got a vx board in 8th grade and instantly made insane progress
If you want to know the difference, just compare the sounds of the boards landing after olliying the three stairs! 20:40! The cheap Walmart sounds very bright and plastic, whereas the Braille board sounds solid.
ok tbf I was waiting for your announcement video on when this board would be on shelves so I could buy one for my kid cousin, but this explains what happened. Great vids as always, thank you for all you do!
I love Aaron's idea about halfway through for Braille's next video. Let's see them in a bad-board contest: try to build the worst board that is still skateable.
Back in the day, I'd of loved to have a braille complete skateboard as my first deck! My first board was bought at meijers and my first pro board was a birdhouse. Got me skating though! I still skate to this day!
If you have the Walmart app. They can still be ordered and shipped to you or the store. Possibly even be able to go in store and have the store order them
A walmart mongoose was my first board 17 years ago, the first thing I noticed when I got my second board was how slow the rolling was on my first. It was such a distinctive feature to me as a 10 year old, it's funny you're saying it now
I bought my son one of these for like 40 or 50$ last year for Christmas. And it was definitely worth it. Ive seen and skated my fair share of cheap boards. This one is worth the pricetag for sure.
When i was 10, I bought a skateboard with plastic trucks. The first time I did an olley of the curb the trucks disintegrated. I haven't been on a board in over 30 years.
35$ is an absolute steal considering I spent 125$ back in 2014 on a board and the trucks snapped my very first time pushing on the board 😂 this is awsome for beginners
Not everyone can afford a $150-$200 skateboard, and some parents aren't willing to spend that much on something their kid is just going to lose interest and quit in a week. The parents will however be OK with spending up to maybe $50. But as you said, if it's low quality equipment, they're going to have a bad experience or not having someone to help teach them, they're going to give up on it if they can't see any progression. I think having really decent equipment at a lower price point would help gain more interest, but also having those willing to take the time to help the beginners learn properly would help too.
I absolutely loved this, but I have to admit, I don’t skate this style deck, I’m a flat land guy, so I ride an old school volcano shaped deck, I’d be beyond absolutely stoked to see a budget braille board for us flat land freestyle homies 🤙🏼
Much respect. I rode one in Wal Mart and compared it to the other completes in the shelf. Night and day difference. This is not a "Wal Mart" board. I think opposed to people thinking, wow this board is 9 dollars braille must be making poor quality products- theyll more likely be really impressed with the quality they received for their money. Personally if i got a great value like that id look for that brand in the future and also tell some friends about it.
NGL I'm sad I missed 9 dollar board season, cause I could use some trucks for an additional deck I have, and for my old zooyork the bushings dry rotted, so I'd love to snag some new trucks for it too.
so are they worldwide or just in some walmarts because i have a board from real skateboards but i snapped the tail a few days ago and im still getting used to skateboarding

Not at all similar really but it reminds me of this snowboard that was popular for a while. There was a store in Sacramento called sierra snowboard and they had a snowboard produced and they must have made a lot of them. The store went out of business but you could still find that board for sale online years later really cheap.

I was looking for this board for so long I was checking both the Walmarts in my town and in the surrounding cities and was never able to find it in stock and it wasn’t even available online.. I was very disappointed. Love you guys!
I bought a 10 dollars skate board and now I am realizing that how much bad it is
that's a crazy story! such a shame you guys didn't get to promote it. hope it didn't hurt braille too much.
❤️
loved Aarons lingo in this vid
Thanks
They have these for 15 dollars at Ollies now. Bought 2 and gave them to my 12 year old cousins. They're at the age where they're super interested in skateboarding now and this was their first boards! Braille's vision with this board definitely lives on to this day!
Honestly id just try to do a target launch, yeah its the blue/red contrast you might even drop a red deck but id go for a target launch because they definitely would do a proper launch with your board at the correct price point.
As a kid I used to aggressive inline but wanted to be a wood pusher not a fruit booter, went to walmart and bought the most expensive board they had and couldnt ride it for the life of me , the bearings were trash, the trucks were trash, and the wheels slid out all the time, plus board had zero pop.. it deff kept me from wanting to keep practicing so you are completely right
Absolute W for every kid who got a deck, y’all are out here doing the lords work. Every kid we get skating is a win.
Lord
Where has Chris been it’s been a while since I’ve seen him in a video
I have a feeling now with this video walmart will be greedy and increase the price back to 40$
Arron last episode playing skate with Nigel - Doesn't want to hurt himself on the 4 block (I'm 40)
Aaron this episode: I'll kickflip the braile drop on the walmart board
You guys rock! Hopefully someone great got a great starter board, and will grace us with their epicness in the future!
hi. i wanted to try skateboarding, for sure someday. how do I pick the right board? do you really still need the skateboard safety wheel cover's for stationary practice and safety? how can I pick the right skateboard? baker, gravedigger, wood woodpecker, spiderman, sonic, tony hawk, or Meepo?...
I love the shots fired back at the other videos that i shall not name LOL love you guys
Love the new editing style, the addition of the slow-mo clips is amazing
Appreciate it!
My first real board was a braille complete board I got from a place called Ollie’s which is like a bargain store for 17 bucks that was two months ago and I’ve skated everyday since I have bought different boards since than cause I needed a wider one but I still have that braille board and it got me into skating and I love y’all’s videos
Hi your viedos are great keep it up they are building a new skatepark next to me soon so thinking of getting a new board. ty for the inspiration to go skate again.
Right
Not trying to be pessimistic but is he saying that Walmart didn't tell him the boards were releasing and write him a big check?
ok tbf I was waiting for your announcement video on when this board would be on shelves so I could buy one for my kid cousin, but this explains what happened. Great vids as always, thank you for all you do!
hii guys!!!!!! love ur vids and love the way yall skate. You guys give me so much inspo :)
Thanks!

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉! I gotta say, let the bodies hit the floor! Let the bodies hit the FLOOR!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉😂
Hahahaha
I love Aaron's idea about halfway through for Braille's next video. Let's see them in a bad-board contest: try to build the worst board that is still skateable.
Back in the day, I'd of loved to have a braille complete skateboard as my first deck! My first board was bought at meijers and my first pro board was a birdhouse. Got me skating though! I still skate to this day!
Nice
If you have the Walmart app. They can still be ordered and shipped to you or the store. Possibly even be able to go in store and have the store order them
A walmart mongoose was my first board 17 years ago, the first thing I noticed when I got my second board was how slow the rolling was on my first. It was such a distinctive feature to me as a 10 year old, it's funny you're saying it now
big win for new skaters if they got this board! That’s insane hahah, love the mission you got too man who couldn’t fr
I bought my son one of these for like 40 or 50$ last year for Christmas. And it was definitely worth it. Ive seen and skated my fair share of cheap boards. This one is worth the pricetag for sure.
its a pity that my country doesnt have walmart😭
When i was 10, I bought a skateboard with plastic trucks. The first time I did an olley of the curb the trucks disintegrated. I haven't been on a board in over 30 years.
35$ is an absolute steal considering I spent 125$ back in 2014 on a board and the trucks snapped my very first time pushing on the board 😂 this is awsome for beginners
Thanks haha. It was supposed to retail for $50 the 35 was what Walmart bought them for at cost
its crazy because i saw them pop up in my recommendation and i thought no way this can be real so i passed up on it.
Ya it was real
these boards was not advertised at all. i only know about them from dan corigan or however you spell his name
Loved the video! I got a brail board at $35 I think. Bring it back I was going to buy more! I love it!
What is a volcano shape?
Much respect. I rode one in Wal Mart and compared it to the other completes in the shelf. Night and day difference. This is not a "Wal Mart" board. It's a legit board that happens to be sold by Wal Mart. Get it while you can before the corporation changes it up for "cost efficiency"
Kyro, you've been doing it big. You're ALL about the community. You're the next pioneer of skateboarding my friend. A great manager for sure. Never stop.
Are all the boards gone? I figure so since you’re talking about last November. Might go look still.
It doesn't matter how bad my mental health is, The energy and hype of braille always makes me feel better.
so are they worldwide or just in some walmarts because i have a board from real skateboards but i snapped the tail a few days ago and im still getting used to skateboarding
Brailleskateboarding.com
first deck was one of those. no wonder i didnt get into skateboarding into i got a real one. tip change out the bearings if anything, then you could atleast start upgrading.
Why do i have "where in the world is carmen Sandiego" stuck in my head, yet i've never even heard the song??? lol thanks Aaron!
is it posible to get Braille Skateboard
Yes go to brailleskateboarding.com
Not at all similar really but it reminds me of this snowboard that was popular for a while. There was a store in Sacramento called sierra snowboard and they had a snowboard produced and they must have made a lot of them. The store went out of business but you could still find that board for sale online years later really cheap.
Nice
I bought a 9 dollar braille board and am still using the bearings
The madd gear board is for beginner children, and the Braille complete deck is for beginner /adults/experienced riders or serious riders?
I gave away 2 this year on go skateday...bought 3 at ollies for $90... some have decenmt bearrings u have to check the pile
Is skate support still a thing because I’ve been trying to finally learn tre flips after years of skating and I can’t get it down at all😢
squat straight down jump up keep scooping hella hard and flicking
It is, you can also DM us a video to our IG!
@@brailleskateboardingI’ll work on getting some videos to you guys thank you for all you do
