We FINALLY did it! After 16 years of Braille Skateboarding we have successfully done a kickflip on a Lego Skateboard!
Legoland was nice enough to have their Master Builders create a fully functional Lego Skateboard for us and it blew away every expectation! This is one of the most awesome skateboards we've ever skated, we hope you all enjoy this video!

This board 100% needs to be in the next Tony Hawk game. Every time you land anything higher than a 3 step, little pieces fall off. Could even have a challenge to get the highest score you can before it falls apart.

I'm wondering, is this thing 100% lego? It could have a rigid metal backbone between the trucks hidden in the layers of lego, which would just make this build that much cooler! Such an interesting challenge and they did such a great job.

master builders are no joke, it takes a lot to become one, its almost easier to become a mechanic or metal fabricator.

Quick note on the glue: master builders use a special kind of glues that kinda melts the bricks together, but in a very thin coat. So it's not a hot glue or anything but something way more fluid. That piece that popped out was probably not fixed correctly
At a museum exhibit we used methyl ethyl ketone paint thinner for permanently fusing bricks or acetone-based nail polish remover for temporary fusing. I once left a DUPLO minifig in a bowl of MEK overnight, came back the next morning and it looked like nothing had happened, but when I shook the bowl the minifig slowly spread out because it had become fully gelatinized in the solvent.

The utter joy and excitement that y'all showed getting to play with that board has helped me start to turn around a rough morning.

Fun fact Lego Master builders do not use glue, they are supplied a special tighter fitting version of Lego blocks that way their creations can be more permanent and sturdy like for being displayed in all of the Lego museums and galleries. This is why the board held together much better than any random person on the streets attempt at a Lego skateboard.... 👍

I'm 36 and just started back up skating. It's been 15 or so years since I have. After a few trick attempts I was exhausted. Not to mention I'm about 30 lbs heavier than I was back then
My man, I'm almost 35, started again at 32 after an 18-year gap. I'm a better skater now than I ever was as a teen. Keep it up and enjoy yourself!

They probably baked it. Melted the plastic together. The outside layers are clicked in but it's mostly plastic melted together. I wasn't there but I'd be surprised if it was glued. A great friend of mine had grandparents that spoiled him with comic books and legos. He had a plastic tote that must have been worth over 4 thousand dollars. I wanted to dump it on myself and bathe in legos when I first saw it. It was so many, it might have killed me if I did.

Lego master builders don't use normal glue. They use an adhesive that actually melts a little bit of the plastics that essentially molds the pieces together.

Lego lands PR team was thinking of ways to advertise LegoLand and the event and they came up with this genus idea to have their team make that board and send it to Braille in hopes they would read the letter in the video.
