Well that and in the Mod he is playing on, the Butcher isn't actually in there anymore, I guess in the mod you deal with the Butcher later in the game.
Awesome playthrough! This game was scary as shit when I was a kid. I felt such relief taking a portal back to the comfort of the town, and actually dreaded going back in the depths. Probably hard to replicate that feeling since Im an adult now, but goddamnit I felt like diablo 3 didnt even try. With its kiddie graphics and colorful environments, its like they didnt understand what mood and ambience had made diablo 1, and also 2, so great.
Thank you for this series! I was too young to really understand what was going on when I watched my brother play so long ago. Your commentary is just the right amount! I can never get enough of the theme of Tristram. Melancholy but peaceful and beautiful
I like the video. Very basic Diablo tip: Hemming and hawing over very slight equipment differences is a waste of time. You get better stuff very quickly in this game, which is part of many reasons why people love it. You are constantly rewarded for just playing.
Oh the delight of cheking your youtube -inbox thing, and seeing Akabane uploaded a new episode of Diablo . Keep it up man, you are awesome. I hope this will continue through the whole game and trhough Diablo II. Looking forward to it mate
Thank you for your videos, diablo1 literally brings tears to my eyes. I hate being old and would do anything to get back to the age when i played this :(.
I do like the little touches in this game like the poisoned water quest on completion making the well water behind Deckard Cain change from brown to blue.
Just recently got into playing Diablo. Started out on 3, got to Act 2, then bought Diablo 2. Im liking the game very much, and glad to have found your playlist! Ive never seen gameplay or heard any story about the these games. And just ran into the 3rd game blindly.
Also i guess you got the option to talk about the butchers chamber because you were in it, if i recall correctly you have been in a room full of bloody corpses, while you were talking about how they made the game as gross as they can with blood and filth everywhere. Sounds like a room to me that an insane man-slaughtering butcher would appreciate
It would be really cool if you had paid enough attention to realize that the ROOM FULL OF CORPSES was literally in the dialogue you had just heard minutes before about the Butcher.
So they cow leveled the butcher's place. I knew the room of bodies was his because he would always come out immediately, being the scariest thing you'd run into early game. You also ran into the big mistake you can make, which is going down a floor immediately upon finding the stairs. If you want to be properly leveled, you clear the current floor of everything before you even think of moving on. The fact you can't even use spells yet before the decor changed is a sign you need to do some grinding and looking for stuff on the current floor.
Wow, I had a level 30 something Rogue back in the day. I still have all the character and item files on floppy disks. If I only had a working copy of Raymond's Trainer....
@@yurihageshi8008 I use Willowtree for Borderlands 1 so I can have 500 backpack slots by default :) You start with 12 :( It's a full trainer though, so you can max out the skills and stats. Useful for fixing a few rare quest bugs also. I can't think of many reason to use a trainer for D1 though. Unless you wanted to make a true melee Sorc, or mage Warrior. Adding more backpack space maybe? That would be nice just for a time saving mod. I use PlugY for D2 of course. However D1 with or without Hellfire still has the best default stash. The entire game world's open ground tiles.
you can still get a trainer for the Belzebub, just google it, the only thing is, before you load your save game you need to run the trainer first right after you execute the game. The trainer works in real time like a CE(Cheat engine)…
I have to admit. I checked out these videos because I got the Diablo Mod and was getting owned by The Butcher. However, I feel your pain with The Well and the "Flesh Clan" baddies. I literally was Laughing Out Loud listening to your reactions as they owned you in those tunnels. I had literally just had the same experience with my Barbarian build an hour ago. "The Pain is Real!"
2:16 - HOW DO YOU... WHAT... HOW... WHAT?! 2:40 - It's at this time I decided to make a new character and see if I could race you. - 28:20 Hilariously, my very very first thing I did on level 1, opening a Sarcophagus, I found the Rare item " _Death Veil Skull cap_ " ( _44% Enhanced Armor, 14% Resist Cold, 7% Hit Recovery Speed_ ) so this character I made started out very lucky. Picked Barbarian as starting class because I felt like it. Only reached Lv 4 but cleared out the entirety of Floor 1 and earned enough to buy a Deadly Axe ( _Magic Item, Two-handed Axe, Very Fast Attack Speed like regular Axe of that style, 41% Enhanced Damage is it's special_ ) so I recon I'll be able to catch up under the next part. Of course, it also helps that I have extensive experience with Diablo 1 and considers it the best Diablo of them all.. But thanks to your videos, I finally had the motivation to make this characters from sheer frustration of watching you doing so many frustrating simple mistakes due to talking. And yes, Leoric does show up in Diablo 3, but Diablo 3 is a bonefied piece of shit.
Leoric was far to easy in d3. Just hit him while he does his laughing, telaporting, etc. This one in d1 does not say anything and runs you down with sheer speed and summons minions
@@yurihageshi8008 i think he revives skeletons already there not summon new ones. But anymoo D1 leoric has derpy ai somtimes he will just take a few steps and stop.
I will say, I can see why that "Butcher's Chamber" quest was removed from the game, it contradicts Wirt's story as told at other points in the game, saying that his leg was chewed off, rather than amputated by Pepin, and portraying him as a slightly-crazy boy who talks in riddles about the Labyrinth instead of a jerk who gouges people for money for admittedly-powerful items.
Leoric brutally murders half the town but somehow people still talk about someone they never knew or met fondly? BULLSHIT. THEY WOULD BE CURSING HIS NAME. SPITTING AT EVERY MENTION OF THE EVIL MADMAN THAT KILLED THEIR FRIENDS AND LOVED ONES.
I found a simple ddraw.dll download that adds resolution options, windowed/fullscreen, and V sync option. No CD loader. I might try this mod sometime. Last time I used it the sound was completely cutting out when in the dungeon. Specifically with this mod.
Well if the sorcerer and warrior use their recharge skills on items, it wears them down. So avoid using their repair skills if you want to avoid permanently damaging items
I really enjoy how you just keep walking by the Butcher's Chamber and don't realize it lol.
After listing to every swag ramble about the body count, I was thinking he was doing it on purpose.
