I like how the folk of Tristram just leave that dead guy at the entrance to the cathedral. The demons don't seem very interested in leaving the cathedral and are cool with wandering about downstairs.
everything in this game moves on a grid because when they were originally developing this game it was intended to be a turn based RPG until one day one of the debs took a build of the game and had the warrior walk up to a skeleton and attack it by clicking on the enemy. this then changed their design and turned it into an action rpg.
They turned the click rate to like 100 so everything is still taking a turn but just with no time in between. They saw the "live action" version was more fun.
Alright let's be a little more accurate here. Lead programmer david brevik and the schaeffer brothers were determined on diablo being turned based originally. The brass at blizzard suggested it should be live action (after the success of Warcraft) and a vote was taken at blizzard north. Brevik famously was in the minority of keeping the game turn based and lost the vote. The following weekend he took the build home and made it live action and could not put the game down (testing). The rest is history. The game was originally turn based yes, and the skeleton story is accurate, but you miss the important details in your description. One of the "debs" (actually lead programmer) actually was outvoted when trying to keep the game turn based and realized how fun it was killing skeletons in live action
the music in tristram was one of the reasons the game felt so great because those slow guitar riffs instill hopelessness and dread, even though tristram is somewhat safe
A lot of the music from Diablo was "recycled" for Blizzard's later offering, Neverwinter Nights. NWN is still played because it comes with an editor which allows anyone with the game to create their own adventure, and a stand-alone server program which allows anyone with the game to put their module online for other people with the game to connect to and play.
24:37 In the original (non-Beelzebub) Diablo, nobody moved around either. That's another mod. poison water supply is recommended before butcher, because its easier. You also need a teleportation spell inside the chamber. Be sure to have your sound up. And yeah, up your magic asap, put it on par with strength, unless you find a weapon you really want to weild and need the stats for it.
You know.... The ONE thing that bugs me about the poisoned water supply quest..... THERE'S A FUCKING RIVER THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ATTACHED TO THE WELL'S UNDERGROUND SPRING!!!! GET WATER FROM THE RIVER AND BOIL IT!!!!
One thing I don't like about Diablo 2 is that the potions don't instantly give you health, so it's very hard to survive during a fight where you're trying to pop potions while in the thick of combat. I think Diablo 1 did potions better, and I think Diablo 3 did the same thing as 1.
This was painful to watch. I'm guessing, you're more of a first person shooter gamer. you sold items 20 times better than you used. You left items on the ground. Yet you claimed this was going to be a slow walkthrough, because you were going to uncover everything. OUCH!!!
Haha, yeah that sounds like this playthrough! I mostly play RPGs and RTS titles myself. But FPS games are quite enjoyable, like Doom Eternal and what not. Not really too worried about the items sold though. :)

I've heard of a few tricks where you can block him in a room or something and use magic to cheese out a victory. Difficult though if I don't have the scrolls of inferno or magical ability :P The Butcher sounds scary though. Can't wait to fight him :)
Be sure to have your sound up. And yeah, up your magic asap, put it on par with strength, unless you find a weapon you really want to weild and need the stats for it.
How did you set this up?
You know.... The ONE thing that bugs me about the poisoned water supply quest..... THERE'S A FUCKING RIVER THAT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE ATTACHED TO THE WELL'S UNDERGROUND SPRING!!!! GET WATER FROM THE RIVER AND BOIL IT!!!!
But that would make too much sense :P
rare hat and unique items
One thing I don't like about Diablo 2 is that the potions don't instantly give you health, so it's very hard to survive during a fight where you're trying to pop potions while in the thick of combat. I think Diablo 1 did potions better, and I think Diablo 3 did the same thing as 1.
I'm surprised diablo 1 and 2 is not on mobile yet
Was the butcher on vacation?
I like strategerizing
scrolls of resurrection is just for multi-player sadly 😔
I figured, would be cool if I could use it on myself as sort of a last breath type action.
Hello Akabane101 and Akabane101 and I'm back for another LET'S PLAY DIABLO. gg 10/10
Awwww yeah :D
Get to the caves already. Lol the waypoints are cool. But there is different entrances from the Cathedral, catacombs, caves and hell.
Staff of teleport and staff of apocalypse was easy win against diablo. Sorry for commenting so much. [F-E]
Hellfire was not made by Blizzard. thus the reason they don't add it.
Ahh, gotcha! :D
@@Akabane101 It was made by Sierra.
Diablo is not a RPG. It is an action game. No roleplaying is involved.
Gillian is probably the most useless character in Diablo history.
so many words. so little to learn
So I decided to play with you...
Now I just feel bad when this dropped right off the bat....

WHAAAAT. That's some pretty good luck right there. Congrats on your find :)

at first i thought i will love your style, talking to everyone and making us feel the roleplaying.
but come'n you are not even exploring all the levels, and you are speaking too much man... i cant stand this after 21st minute of this second video. i think you could do better than this. definitely you are not good at map and item management.
ah btw, mod ruined that creepy atmosphere, i didnt like it.
That's perfectly fine! My style is not very everyone, that's for sure. Thanks for giving it a shot. I do end up exploring the majority of content available in the mod, and definitely enjoyed the game! Having never played the game before (only about 10 minutes when I was much younger) it was a unique experience and thankfully there was a handful of helpful commenters that gave me guidance along the way.
@@Akabane101 it is good to hear you enjoyed the game, and it is good for you to have such great followers, maybe it is not just for me as you said. i have full respect the way you do, and how you do. cheers ^^
@@yldrm941 Much love and hope you have a good one! :)
I haven't played this game in 19 years and I'm still better than you, lol. It's almost painful to watch.
If he’s still progressing through the game what the hell does it matter who is better than who? Man sometimes gamers are snarky as hell
Jesus you’ve never played a Dnd game let alone diablo go back to fortnite, Jesus you play LOL and that’s it?
Why would you be able to use resurrect when you aren’t dead? N e ways it doesn’t matter but your not dead
League of Legends?? Fortnite? Where are you getting this from? How did you come to this conclusion? This is genuinely interesting. I've been a DM for 5E for three years and I mostly play Role-Playing Games and Real Time Strategy. Where on this channel have I played League of Legends and Fortnite?
On top of that, I've played Diablo 2: Lord of Destruction, and have put hundreds of hours in Diablo 3. One look at my videos tab and you'd know the types of games I play and review. It's better to just assume though, right? Fulfil your own narrative of false superiority.
When we live in a world that you're judged by the games you choose to play, but then you also just make up what games someone plays and throw them into some sort of make belief category of good or bad. Play what you like, get out of this console war, PC war, mindset, and stop trying to be part of some sort of weird fantasy that people have to play what you like otherwise they are worthless. Such disgusting behavior.
this is painful to watch. why is he so stressed about breaking all the barrels?!
also the mods are terrible... totally ruin the game
also shuuuuuut upppppp
you play so slowly its not enjoyable...questioning the entire town for a simple quest isn't fun for the viewer...
No worries! My style isn't for everyone :)
jeez, will you stop talking already? ..
:)
