    Thank you so much for this vid - i cleaned the fan on my PS3 which had lots of dust and it now runs a bit cooler

    Bro I tried the first method with holding down the eject button and plugging it in, and it sounded like it was gonna explode

    My is now 9 years old and when I play something like black ops 2 the whiny noise get even louder and produces a lot of heat but I would have already taken it apart if it wasnt for the warranty sticker

      PS3 Original consoles are too quiet and makes them very loud when they overheat because of the slow fan.

    My ps3 is loud like yours was,
    I thought the was something wrong with the heat sink I just assumed it was loud cos it's a old console but dust is most likely the problem thanks for the vid bro

    If dust is the problem then that explains why it's so loud, it was in Afghanistan for a year and survived rocket strikes and the Afghan weather, no wonder it's loud

    You need to scalp rsx and cell. Thermalpaste already dry. If you don't do that - you got and YLOD

    I have the super slim and noise levels are ok, not quite where I would like personally but one thing I am concerned about is the heat. It's never shut off or anything like that but I can certainly feel it warming up after an hour or two of use. I don't really want to open it up so I'm using a big fan to keep it running cooler

      Sounds more serious than usual. Potentially the CPU getting hot too quickly. May need a fresh load of thermal paste for the heat sink. There are kits & guides around on how to do this.

    SONY SUCKS because their PS consoles stop reading discs, their consoles over heat due to not enough vents or the vents are not large enough, their consoles have a dust problem, and "drum roll", those DANG wireless controllers not connecting or not charging.

    Did it make it a little bit noisy less for you ? Mine is going crazy after 1 hour of gaming

      It did. I do find in the summer months it does still get noisey after a while. Maybe worth experimenting with the surrounding airflow & ventilation.

    So nothing will happen to the PS3 if I attempt this? And should I try to eject option from the beginning after doing this to help it? Or does that even work at all?

    I couldnt even clean the fan cause the shell cover didnt open properly and I cant close the cover now. I need to go to a repair shop . 😭😭😭

    Hey! I just fished out my old ps3 and it's somewhat loud. I don't mind it but it's not a jet. Should I still clean it?

      If it works fine & the noise doesn't bother, just let it be. Having said that, if you fished out the PS3 from a box full of dust, you might want to give it a clean.

    My ps3 using monitor use vga converter to hdmi with audio hole, when i'm using aux cable to speaker has noise soun in every game, but the picture OK, whats the prpolem with it ?

      Not sure as I've not had experience with that, but it could be electrical interference causing it.

    For me i think it's the thermal paste, sounds like it can't cool thr CPU correctly, removed all the dust, cleaned it etc.. ughhh

      Other than clearly the dust from the vents & putting it somewhere with more air flow...not really.

    i had my ps3 cleaned and fixed professionally cost me 60 bucks but the fan is still so loud can't hear the game i'm playing

      The guy repaired my ps3 is fixing it again for free by replacing the fan and hard drive and transferring games from old hard drive to the new one and doing a big test on it

      well it still sounds like ur next to a jet engine so im just selling it on ebay hate to as its a working ps3 that plays ps1 and 2 games so anyone knows found the issue with mine it has a blown power supply circuit

      It could be, but I doubt it. I think it just need/needed a big proper cleaning inside, fresh thermal paste/pads, and maybe a delidding on both main chips.

      @@pratimagiribhat4075 make sure the ps3 ON then press down the powernub to turn off for 20 seconds and pull out the plug while pressing then turn on. Reply when you get thru

      It can certainly affect the performance....it's the same principles as a PC as to why you should have good ventilation around the machine.

      @@exquicitegamer88 it may need a fresh lot of thermal paste for the heat sink. The CPU maybe struggling. I've not done this before but there are a few videos on this.
