One of the things i like specifically on your videos is that there is no doubts left no magically exploit but restoring yes no stone unturned no confusion
Some of you may run into an issue where the PS3 keeps telling you to connect a storage media even though you followed all the directions on the video. (Great video as well) so if you are running into this issue make sure your drive is a MBR not GPT that should let the PS3 recognize the external drive. Also cluster size / allocation size set to 32 (32mg)

@@Toomnyusernae Unfortunately, no. The drive is simply a storage cabinet. However jailbroken PS3 is more likely to be fixable from the CBOMB issue. Unless Sony patches it out it is still a problem. As far as I am aware they reversed their decision to shut down the PS3 store for now. So you can stay on official firmware but I jailbroke mine just in case as it will be easier to remedy the CMOS/CBOMB issue when it does happen.
I keep getting that error message! How do you format an external drive to Fat32 MBR? The 3rd party programs I've tried to format to Fat32 all default to GPT and I can't find a way to change this.
@@Great_Watt I use AOMEI Partition Assistant but I am sure the free version will do this for you otherwise you can use something open source such as Fat32Format. May need a hard drive to USB adapter or bay to actually conenct the drive to your PC or directly via SATA to your PC.

My old June-2008-Fat-PS3 died in March, 2017 from the Yellow Lights of Death and in Oct. 2019, some people sold me their PS3 Super Slim so I’ve been wanting to extract the Save Data from the Internal Hard Drive itself. I’ve just been wondering if I can use my Desktop to connect the PS3 80 GB Internal Hard Drive to the PC and look at all the Internal Files to see if I can copy my Game Data onto a USB Drive and insert it into my current PS3 Super Slim to continue playing Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, MGS4, and The Last of Us Part 1 again??? 🤔
My Old PS3 just won’t work or display a picture due to a burnt out Chip I think, it still powers up though.
There’s like 4 different ways to move/copy PS3 Save Data onto another PS3 but I didn’t do those in the first place cuz I didn’t know how much sand my PS3 had inside of it.

Great video, solved a lot of the doubts I had! Sorry for the question I'm new at this, but can you restore this backup on other exploited PS3s and the games will be reinstalled too? I've searched a lot and some people say that games are copyrighted and because of that they are only reinstalled when the data is restored on the same PS3 the backup mas made on. Like these files were linked to a specific PS3 and will only be allowed on that machine. Thank you

I used hard drive raw copy and it worked like a dream, 130gb Hard Drive to 250gb SSD and like new again only took about an hour to clone drive

When I get to 3:53 and select "yes" it won't give me the menu you have.
Very good and backing up PS3 Hard Drive data via Backup Utility is better to use on cfw and hen since all protected items, trophies, and downloaded content can be restored. Not use with ofw since it has limitations.
How did u fit a bigger than 4gb backup on fat 32 USB?

I swapped my 120 GB hard drive on my PS3 Slim to a 500 GB WD Blue SSD and it works perfectly fine. My machine is full Rebug though, not HEN.

@@orlandofurioso7329 I did not backup anything, I did not have anything important on the hard drive at the time. I only had some save files for games I had sold a while back. I just swapped straight up.
It won't work on a SSD. You may want to state that. The PS3 won't recognize it.

Is the backup process faster if I use SSD formatted to Fat32 or HDD formatted to fat32? Cause it takes 20+ hrs for me
Use a Usb drive and sign in when the new hard drive is formatted. Just use backup utility yeah it takes forever. But at least when the new hdd ssd is formatted you just click restore from usb backup.
For some reason my backup doesn’t get recognized by my USB, is it corrupted data? The system itself recognizes the usb and I can see the file on my computer

I used the ethernet cable to transfer to my newer ps3 and it transfered most of the stuff. It can also be used as an alternative method to this

Hard drive gets locked to original PS3. Meaning you cannot put it in any other PS3

Now i jus tried playing ps3 a few days ago it asked for an update when i did so the ps3 is now stuck on updating process..i cant even get into safe mode! How can i resolve this problem please Billy!
Install back the cfw that was on it in safe mode
