    I’m about to do a similar build so I’m wondering about a few things. I noticed that you applied thermal paste. Doesn’t the NZXT Kraken X53 already have thermal paste pre-applied? Also, what are the CPU temps when idle and on load? I have some concerns about a 240mm aio properly cooling the 13700k. Also, did the Kraken come with the LGA 1700 bracket?

    • @Stephan-sPCCorner
      @Stephan-sPCCorner  Год назад +4

      Hi Strato, thanks for your comment!
      Yes the Kraken aio has alreday thermal paste but i removed it because i wanted to use my own thermal paste.
      And yes, your concerns about the 13700k and 240mm aio were also my concerns but i decided to try it anyways.
      Of course a 280mm aio is better, no doubt. But i was definately surprised about the temps.
      In idle round about 25-36°C. In 4K gaming in highest settings (it depends on the game) between 45-65, sometimes it jumps above 70°C. All in all it’s fine to me.
      Under full load round about 95°C. Ok, that is really high but i guess a 280mm won‘t make a really big difference under full load. Maybe 85°-90°… i don’t know…
      I tested it with Cinebench for round about 30minutes. The official specs from intel are max 100°C.
      I won't be using the system under full load very often, so everything looks good to me for now, including the temps in 4K gaming. But I'll keep an eye on it and maybe consider upgrading to 280mm later. But you can't mount 280mm on the top. This size is only possible at the front.

    • @Stephan-sPCCorner
      @Stephan-sPCCorner  Год назад +2

      Just forgot to answer your last question. Yes, the Kraken z53 came with a LGA 1700 bracket. I was not sure when i ordered it and ordered a 1700 bracket seperately and now i have two 😅, so my fault…

    • @strato6420
      @strato6420 Год назад

      Thanks for the response! Those are pretty good temps and I won't really be using the system on full load often either so should be fine hopefully. I would have gone for the 280mm, but the H5 Elite comes with two 140mm RGB fans pre-installed and I didn't want to have to buy two separate 120mm RGB fans for the top. Instead, I only need to get 1 additional 120mm RGB fan for the rear. Technically, I could have bought the non-RGB Kraken X63 and replace the fans with the case fans, but you'll still have redundant fans in the end.

    • @Stephan-sPCCorner
      @Stephan-sPCCorner  Год назад

      I see! Yes, that should work technically. But the case fans were a little bit different to the regular 140mm RGB but i think that won‘t make a difference. It was only the power and rgb cable which is directly connected in the fan itself and there were no plugin connections. Maybe it‘s a new version of the fan model.
      It’s a pity that only 120mm are fit on the top.

    • @strato6420
      @strato6420 Год назад

      That makes sense. Another question I want to ask while waiting for deliveries. Is the built-in RGB fan controller enough for the two fans in front, aio fans, the rear fan, and the gpu fan on the bottom? Not sure if I need a separate RGB fan controller.

    I'm thinking of pairing i7-13700k with rtx 4080 for 3440x1440 gameplay. I've seen my 4080 being bottlenecked by my current cpu (12400) - Should I go for i9 instead? Since I'm not gaming at 4k and UW1440p is more CPU bound than 4k...

      For 3440x1440 resolution with a 4080 and a 13700k you are well equipped! The i9 13900k is for gaming not much faster than the 13700k. You can find compare videos to that question. The 13900k is a good choice when you want to stream and play at the same time or you gonna do a lot of video editing stuff.

    Hi, would like some help, for a new build with a rtx 4070ti for 1440p 165hz gaming, should I go for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D or the core i7 13700K? Pairing with 32GB DDR5 6000Mhz. Gaming is my priority however extra performance for longevity is always nice 👍. Thanks

    • @Stephan-sPCCorner
      @Stephan-sPCCorner  Год назад +1

      So actually both CPUs are really good and a good choice.
      The 7800X3D performs a little bit better than intels 13700K in games but will probably be more expensive. ruclips.net/video/PtD59T3qKjs/видео.html this is a simulated 7800x3d but i think you can expect those values.
      Regarding to the new AM5 Socket for Ryzen CPUs you are able to upgrade your system in the future with a newer Ryzen CPU and don’t need to buy a new motherboard. I think at least the next generation of ryzen CPUs will fit on AM5 sockets. So you can easily upgrade your system to the next level in a couple of years.
      However 13th Gen CPUs are the last CPUs for Socket LGA 1700 and if you want to upgrade that in a couple of years you will also need a new motherboard.
      So i think regarding to more upgrade options in the future team orange (AMD Ryzen) has an advantage.
      But Intels 13700K is probably little bit cheaper and also really good and paired with a 4070Ti you will be happy for many years as well.

    • @Stephan-sPCCorner
      @Stephan-sPCCorner  Год назад

      @Fusion_x_Frost Hmm i see. If gaming is your priority i would wait for the 7800x3D or at least wait for the release to compare the performance and price. The 7900X is definately also a really good CPU with 12 cores but that is more important for doing multimedia stuff like video editing, streaming or streaming and gaming together. If you plan in the future things like that, a 12 or 16 core CPU are better. But if your main focus is on a high end gaming machine and as much FPS as you can get, i would wait for the 7800x3d. Games need more single core performance from the CPU. More cores do not bring more performance in games.
      The 7800X3D will launch at 6th of April and i guess the price will be similar to the 7900X.

      Hi General, i don’t have an 13600k so i can‘t give you the answer how many percentage this cpu use.
      About the resolution, that depends on your system, if you have an older CPU and a newer GPU and you want to play in a higher resolution with same details like before, that might lead to a bottleneck effect at your CPU and increase your temperature.
      All parts should be in tune with each other and when they have enough performance, you won‘t get higher temps.

For the gaming performance cuts i took only 2 sticks because they are working with XMP profile at 6000mhz.

      Vielen Dank!

      Hi Vax_ta,
      yes i know that actually a 280mm radiator is recommended for this CPU but unfortunately you can not mount a 280mm radiator at the top, it’s only designed for 240mm radiators. So i decided to try it anyway and was surprised about the temps which are really good! Mostly between 55-70°C in games.
      The official specs from Intel are max 100°C, so it’s far away from that. But i will watch that and if it’s gonna be too high, you can also undervolt the CPU and in worst case i mount a 280mm at the front.

      @@Stephan-sPCCorner ok , good idea , but u can mount at th front , I have front and it's okay , different is only 3 C , have not any burble sounds an so on . in future You have to buy 280mm radiator in all options, this 100 C is marketing thing, on max 101 C is damaging the cpu therefore 55-70 is norm but with 280 mm you will have 32-60 or lower , it is not hurry but the sooner the better for the processor

      I have i9 9900k and I put on corsair h115i elite 280mm radiator also before I had 240 mm radiator , different was 15-20 C 🙂 which it's best for perfomance ...

      Thank you for the tip, i‘ll keep an eye on the temps. For the moment it seems to be fine and i think about to upgrade later to 280mm.

      Yes i know 😅… My original plan was a purple/black build but then i decided to make it white/black and i had no other wires at this time. Later i changed it into white but did not produce a seperate video only for wire change.

      Even in some triple A Games like „Cyberpunk“ or „The Witcher 3 Next Gen Update“ with DLSS „quality“.
      For more FPS in those games you have switch DLSS on performance mode.
