20October1977. The day OUR music died. I will be 63 in September by the way. Grew up in Atlanta from 1971 to 1989. Everyone played Atlanta during that time. The magical 70's....

The fact that it sounds this good, Live, close to 5 decades later now. Says everything that needs to be said. This was a band. This was talent, and skill, and performance, on full display. No autotune, no fancy nothing, just some Talented Musicians on stage jamming, thats all it was and it was everything.

i remember hearing the news the night of the crash! I didn't know who died although I assumed it would have been more people, but I never thought the cause of the crash would be running out of fuel! The next morning before school everyone was in the cafeteria waiting for the bell to ring. Somebody asked, "Who died"? My stupid cousin said, "I bet old Leonard didn't die. Nothin' could kill him!" Well my stupid cousin was wrong! There was no Old Leonard, but the guy he thought was "Old Leonard" didn't make it as I would find out a few hours later! A tragic day that really shook me! A couple of years later, tragedy struck again when Bon Scott died! The 2 greatest front men in rock n' roll were gone forever!.

One of my closest friends died that way long long ago...
Last time I'd seen 'n' met him was in a bus,I was standin' right at his side 'n' talked to him.
He turned 'n' looked around to see who's talkin' but didn' t recognise anyone...
One day my Mom asked me: "Do you know what has happened to Robert...?!?"
I looked her straight in the eye 'n' answered:"He's dead..."
Her eyes widened 'n' she was quiet all at a sudden...

This is such a mesmerizing performance. The engineer who was at the controls that night absolutely nailed it. You can hear every instrument perfectly. Billy and the piano keys come in clear. The Honkettes are crisp and at the same level as Ronnie. He is a puzzle. So tough yet so gentle almost. It’s still so sad that they had no idea what fate had in store for them. What a loss. Who knows what further greatness they would have achieved. All time great group! ❤ 🙏

    • @bungabening3530

The engineer was probably Kevin Elson who was Skynyrd's sound man for years. He was a producer for the "Street Survivors" album and was on board when the plane went down.
He went on to be an engineer/producer for Journey and worked with a number of other popular bands.

She is a blood sucking vampire and actually in Jan of 20 21 moved ( for the 2nd time) Ronnie's grave, " Melody and I were never happy about the spot he was in" so he was moved away from his parents and oldest daughter Tammy's plots- to an isolated area in same cemetery, the new grave 10 feet away from what she called a "peaceful lake"- it's a black moldy pond that looks like stagnant water. Out of all the great guitarists there is nothing like the sight of Allan Collins playing deep in the neck delivering his unique style of playing. My pick for the best of the greatest guitarists.

    R.I.P. Gary Rossington
    ( 04.12.1951.- 05.03.2023.)
was an American musician and songwriter. He is best know as a founding member of Southern rock band
Lynyrd Skynyrd, in which he played lead and rhythm guitar. He was also the last living founding member of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Rossington was also a founding member
of the Rossington Collins Band, along
    with former bandmate Allen Collins.

Allen Collins absolutely killed in this song. Funny enough this is one of my favorite solos with a wah pedal, and it's basically the only solo from Skynyrd that uses a wah. Allen Collins has always been underrated hes'sone of the best guitarists in my opinion.

Ronnie and the boys were in HELL House & one was picking a little Rip& a second memb.joinged& Ronnie had the 2st one backing up and start from the beginning and this is words from the BoyZ' own mouths, that Ronnie had within 20 minutes later the words to our Musical Equivalent "defining all of us"who bleed Skynyrd, our Rock National Anthem, --->
"☆ FREE BIRD ☆"^,,Thank You Lord for the time you did give us Lynyrd Skynyrd & may you appoint them to play when we are all in Heaven...!Amen...
3 lead guitars all feeding off one another, never done before, and still unheard of since..Ronnie was a Genius, and never once picked up an instrument at all, except 1(his Microphone)
      "Dozer" in Carrollton, Ky
      long live "RVZ"& Skynyrd..!

Gary and Allen on guitar. Love this version of the band. They had an attitude and edge like they had to prove themselves every night. Think they were at their very best and the addition of Steve Gaines later on made them what could have been the best band ever to grace a stage.
