I'm from Brazil , and this song was part of my teenage days when I was 16 and the only thing to worry about, was to study (high school days). From the same year 1984, the single Adult Education was amazing too. Such very very good times...
Once someone told me this band was not a la big deal; however, I now can "Say It Isn't So". Hall and Oates is one of those bands that never let you down. Good music comes out of their veins.
Hi. Greetings from Guatemala in Central América. I remember this song because I was dancing with a nice girl in a disco here in my country in 1986. What memories!!
It was a Golden Age. Took a decade or two to realize it. Never thought music like this would be rarely made or heard, but it happened. One thing about Golden Ages...they end.
I used to play this song every time I went fishing upstate in Pennsylvania in the fall of 1984. Played it as I went through the Lehigh Tunnel (which became a talisman of sorts) on the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike and then after I had stopped for coffee at the Time Mart in Millville, PA, about 17 miles south of my destination. Every time I hear "Say It Isn't So" I can visualize this video and recall elements of those fishing trips of mine thirty-three years ago.
Mr epic , I bet you were always the first.to raise your hand to answer the teachers question, probably get many dates , but always the first the cheerleader girl would be first asked for a study date....ha.

I sincerely hope this style of music returns one day.

Just saw them on 5/8/15 at the Fox Theater and they were awesome! Absolutely killed it. Still play with passion and enjoyment. Bucket list item checked off the list! Their music captures that time so perfectly, and it instantly puts you in a better mood. I know it's gonna be a good day when I hear H&O on the radio before lunch time, and if they are the first song I hear when I turn the radio on, I play the lotto that day...just a thing I do
clark main Well said. I just saw them as well on 5/9 in Grand Rapids, MI. They nailed that one also. If I could complain about anything (besides the crappy seats) it would be that they only did about half of the songs I wanted to hear. But that's totally understandable considering their large body of work. Plus, it would take about 5 hrs to do all my favs anyway. LoL I would def see them again though cuz even after all these yrs, they still put on a great show.
clark main "Better mood" -- yep. People were finally aloud to a have a good time with music again after the depressing oranges and browns that are typical of 70s "everything's bad" culture.

Those lyrics and the way Daryl sings em.....I simply LOVE!!!
Maaaaan I'm so glad I was around to experience all of Hall and Oats music when it came out new!
Oates*
On point
That's my favorite part
I know that's right, I'm right the work you, they were the first to give us" Adult Education" as a kid...WOW!
Though if faced with being replaced he wants her even more!!
I'm from Brazil , and this song was part of my teenage days when I was 16 and the only thing to worry about, was to study (high school days). From the same year 1984, the single Adult Education was amazing too. Such very very good times...
Dá-lhe Brasil
They are going to sing in SP, june
How's the coffee, got a friend over their in Brazil number 1 cash crop
Jefferson JeffO ouvi muito nas radios!
Say it isn't so that they are suing each other & filing restraining orders! I NEVER ever thought this would happen to THEM
I feel so fortunate to grow up as a teenager during this era.
Me too
I too!
It was awesome
Yes. They were the best times!!!
And I'm very envious
When music was music!
You can hear it. The melodies and the layering of sounds...WOW!
Damn right!
The only one!
Their melodies and Hall's playing vocal range are on poinT! Long live 80s music.🤘
Awe man......if you had a sax player featured in your song in the 80’s it was an automatic hit!
sho _wil yes
I recomend you Lets dance of David Bowie
INDEED!!!
These guys knew how to work a studio
It hit #2 for 4 long weeks this week in 1983. Billboard Magazine ranks it #101 of the biggest songs of the 1980's ❤💚💙.
Greatest duo ever during the greatest decade ever!
+saleem waheed is that the 70s or 80s?
+Lucy Fer 80's of course
What do you think of Simon and Garfunkel then?
+Ridge Patterson Different decade
+tee cee I meant S&G for "greatest duo of all time".
I wish songs like this were still being released.
This still rocks hard in 2020. Getting me over the pandemic blues.
Yesssssss!! Bad ass!
YAAAS, HUNTY, it's on my morning walk play list. I walk with purpose just like they do in the opening. LOL
Yyyiiieeewwww 🤙
Eu ouço quase todos os dias..rsr..aaaamoooo

Once someone told me this band was not a la big deal; however, I now can "Say It Isn't So". Hall and Oates is one of those bands that never let you down. Good music comes out of their veins.
Who the hell told you that? 😂
He was under the rock? 😁
Just tell Darryl to stop trying to dance.......sheeeeEEEEESH..!
Is played by real musicians who studied there craft and played their instruments real musicians
This song shakes my soul. It is so good.
Just when I thought I've heard all the Hall and Oats bangers....
I'm very sad that they split. They made very music together.
GREATEST MALE DUO EVER
Better than wham?..... George Michael?.. nah
@@thesaintst1851 he said duo, wham was a band
@@thesaintst1851 I consider Daryl and John to be more accomplished than George and Andrew of Wham!, but both acts were mighty fine.
@The Saint ST1 i hate wham! so much you have no idea, they may have been inspired by hall &oates but they do not compare in the slightest
Vengo de escuchar a Air supply y tienes razón 💯
Can't stop listening to this. So freaking good.
Great record and Daryl Hall's voice is haunting - one of their best
Yes i agree Daryl hall a awesome singer I remember in 1983, when I was 17 💙

Hi. Greetings from Guatemala in Central América. I remember this song because I was dancing with a nice girl in a disco here in my country in 1986. What memories!!
There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them
well put and yes
Same happened to me.... nostalgia sadness... special on this lonly times just remembering... those good.time..
@Jason Stephenson you right... until now that we miss those times.but...lm.happy because we where part of those never came back times....

I was born in 1997... And I a have nostalgia of the 80's
I get goosebumps listening to this masterpiece
yeah it just goes on and on. The beat just gets you and you have to dance. he had so much soul and rhythm
Lyrics that are timeless and sounds are classic. I appreciate these songs even more as I get older.
Daryl Hall, in this, was and probably will be my benchmark for guy sexiness always. .....HOT.....!!!!
Boredin81 Yeah, he had it going on! 😃
I was pretty young when this came out but looking now as an adult, damn, I'd like some of that!
@@rehabnow LOL!
This is the best era of music!
True, and we can definitely spot videos that were made in that era.

Por muchas vidas que haya... no habrá una musica como la de los 80...jamas
Weezer: Say It Ain't So
Hall and Oates, Intellectuals: Say It Isn't So
Mr. Epic that’s funny
I always mix them up in my playlist
Theyre both good tbh.
Mr epic , I bet you were always the first.to raise your hand to answer the teachers question, probably get many dates , but always the first the cheerleader girl would be first asked for a study date....ha.
Didn't get damn spell check
Con está canción de regreso en casa después de un día de trabajo.tomando tecito calentito.gracias mi señor por cuidarme y sacarme de dónde estaba.💜💜💜💜
Love it
Super super talented musicians. Its a complete trip listening to this song. Been many years since I last heard it. Love the deep bass kicking in early on the track. It takes you on a real journey listening to this song. Many emotions can be felt through the creation. These guy's i believe, where way ahead of their time musically. I sincerely hope this style of music returns one day.
Well said !!!
I hope so too
I GREW UP IN THE 80S. DID NOT FULLY APPRECIATE HOW GREAT H&O WERE. WOW, WERE THESE GUYS GREAT THEN & NOW. NOTHING LIKE THEM TODAY 2022. DIRTY RAP SCREAMING NOT MUSIC FOLKS.
LISTENING TO H&O TAKES YOU INTO A WORLD OF BETTER TIMES. SONGS WITH HEART & PASSION. A UNIQUE SOUND & LYRICS. WILL NEVER BE DUPLICATED.
I think this is my favorite song from Daryl, not only can he sing but he is a great song writer
Mine too!!
I KNOW it’s my favorite out of all they released from 1973 through 1985.
Their music is timeless❤❤

Am I all alone in 2019?!
I'm with you! Making an 80's Saturday playlist. BTW there are hours of MTV from the 80s here on YT! Commercials included! So nostalgic.
No!!!
2019💓
No, you're not alone Darlin! #feelingnostalgic 😢😢♥️♥️
I was a teen in the 80s so i know exactly what you mean!
I was young in the 80s and i always thought this was low key their best one back then. I have come back full circle to believing that.
I heard that Hall put out a restraining order against Oates and this is the first song that came to mind.
Sad
Daryl dancing in silhouette to his own keyboard solo looks so cool
+Shane Anthony Pretty fly for a white guy at least.
+Shane Anthony Yeah, I think so too
I so agree
Reminds me of David Bowie's moves xD
+Shane Anthony yes
Saw them in Buenos Aires june 6th! Dream came true!!
Greetings from Montevideo Uruguay
No pude ir pero alguien lo subió a RUclips
Gran concierto!
Takes me back to my high school days and Friday Night Videos, because I didn't have cable!!! The 80's were the best times of my life......I sure miss those days 😢😢
YES!!! Friday Night Videos. Part of my Friday ritual when I was too young to "go out" unless I was sleeping over at a friend's house. And even then we most likely had FNVs on.
Just saw the news! "Say it isn't so, Daryl and
John? 😢
Voice, melody, rhythm, everything is pleasant to hear. The beats are simply perfect. 80 .... ther best of the best
no one sings in his style. one of a kind. so recognizable
How nostalgic. I wish I could trap myself in the 80's in a neverending loop
san junipero
The nostalgia flows hard with this one. Aged like fine wine. Hate to say they don't sing or compose music like this anymore but it's totally true.
You are so correct! I both get happy and sad with nostalgia to the point of crying when I hear this song. We'll never see a time like this again and my heart breaks for future generations who won't experience what we did.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU 💞 DARYL ~ This may be my most favorite video ~ I just Love You ~ sweet memories of seeing you on the streets of the W Village and in Soho ~ I'll never forget the THRILL it gave me "Red on the Head" 🎶💖🎶

I've played the SAX on occasion the pimp coat you can keep !!
Yeah i'm not a fan of fur coats, on anyone, but Charlie DeSant is still one helluva good sax player.
Absolutely and it is written..
Los 80s son eternos!! Sobreviven a cualquier época!!
+clark main so did you ever win the lotto on those days?
