At my restaurant a customer ordered a calzone, but she meant to order a stomboli. They are both $8 She didn't want us to remake it, because she didn't want to wait. She was loud and obnoxious. Her parties order was just over $110. I told her I would go ahead and give her 10% off her bill. She yelled at me that she doesn't want 10% she wants the item off her tab. I calmly said, no problem, despite the fact that you incorrectly ordered a calzone, I'll be glad to removed the calzone which cost $8, and I'll put back on the 10% discount which was $11. I had her receipt in my hand so I was able to show her. Fortunately she had a party of 8, which automatically included 18% gratuity. This was years ago, and it still makes my blood boil, not the mistake, but how she felt entitled to yell and scream.

This literally just happened to me today. I'm in Universal Studios with my boyfriend and was taking the escalator up to the top lot from the bottom lot. The rule of the escalator is that your children cannot be in their strollers while on them, so you better be ready to hold them for a minute. An entitled woman was trying to push her (in my opinion) way too tall to be in a stroller sized child onto the escalator while he was in it. Obviously a security member of the park stopped her and told her it wasn't safe, and she started losing it. Saying to just let her do it, that there's no other way up, and when she was offered a personal shuttle ride to the top lot, she literally said "That's not safe!!" Now we stopped halfway up the lot to sit for like ten minutes, and "surprisingly" we didn't see the family come up the escalator.. Wonder what happened.
TLDR, she was more worried about being inconvenienced than her child's safety, than complained about safety when given a frankly way better offer of transport.

  • @jballbro
    @jballbro 3 года назад +12

This was great. I remember being a server at a restaurant that sold a steak and lobster that on the menu said "market price". This was because the price fluctuated from time to time by the types of lobsters were served with the meal.
Once a man and woman came in, similar to the story in the video, and the man ordered the steak and lobster, as a server I figured it wasn't my job to question someones decision of meal or their ability to pay. I figured if I was well off enough to buy the meals I wanted and someone told me "are you sure about that sir?" I might be pretty annoyed. So when he ordered the meal, I told him "great choice".
Now admittedly, the price of the meal was nowhere near the one in the video, but still when he received the bill, he screamed, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME HOW MUCH THIS WAS".
    My response "you didn't ask".
People need to take responsibility for their actions. If you see menu items that are beyond your price range on the menu at all and the thing you order doesn't list a price, you may want to ask how much something is before ordering it.

I love it when people play themselves. I work in retail. It was early - 7AM. A lady came in, snarled her order at me, spent the whole time on her phone. She asked why it was taking so long, since she was in a hurry. I apologized and explained that since she had lots of small individual items, I had to scan them each rather than as a group. Her large purchase (from our warehouse) flagged as low stock. I told her, and quickly called the warehouse to confirm that we had enough for her, since she would have to drive their to collect it, and it would be a huge inconvenience if I rang it up and we didn't actually have enough. Keep in mind, sometimes a bag will tear or it got wet, so the amount of stock is usually a few bags less than what shows up on the system. She starts going off at me "this is ridiculous! How do you run this business? I'm in a hurry, this is unacceptable, hurry up!" Anyway, I rang it all up with her bitching every step of the way, and asked her if she'd like her receipt. She tossed her head and flipped her hand, snatched up her bags and stormed to the door. Our security guard had been quietly watching the whole encounter. When she tried to leave, he asked her for her receipt to check her purchases. She turned purple, came storming back to me and demanded the receipt. I smiled at her and said "so sorry! You said you didn't want one so I didn't print it. I'll just run and find a manager to issue a reprint for you." Cue a 5 minute search for a manager (knowing that nobody was in the shop yet) before regretfully telling her that I'd have to call for the upstairs manager to come down and do it for her. Another 5 minutes go by. At this point she's shaking with rage and her mouth is pinched and white.
The manger eventually comes and prints the slip for her. The guard leisurely takes his time checking each. And. Every. Line. Item. Before eventually signing off and letting her out.
Best day of my career there. It is sooooo satisfying when all the staff come together to trip up a rude customer.

nobody realizes that by breaking into that out of order elevator with her child, the lady is not only trespassing as she is not allowed to be in the elevator but because the elevator is not in working order she could have also been fined for child endangerment.

My husband and I were listening to this together and we both commented on that. Unless she left someone responsible with the baby, like a spouse, grandparent or much older sibling, that mom should have had children's services called on her.

OMG the roommate story I so can relate to. I had a roommate who was crazy meticulous like those two. He lived in a unit of the house the was on the basement level and the other housemates and I referred to him as “The Troll that lives under the house.” So many stories.

I had a roommate once put up a chore chart (we had basically been doing the honor system of clean up your own mess). I was given something and BROOM. I did the other thing and just stared at the chart for a minute and then down to the carpeted floor. I shook my head, wondered "why?", and got a broom and awkwardly swept the floor. Anyway, later the day the roommate and I got into an argument that I didn't do the chores assigned to me. I told him I did what I was "assigned" by him. I told him I even got a broom and swept the floor. He stopped, looked down at the floor for a few seconds, and then looked at me and with confusion asked me "Why?" I pointed at the chart. "BROOM" I stated. He responded "Bathroom". THAT SET ME OFF. I practically yelled at him "BATHROOM?! WHY DIDN'T YOU PUT THAT OR AT LEAST PUT A SPACE BETWEEN THE B AND R?!" We argued back and forth for a few minutes about that. I did a quick clean of the bathroom, fuming (partly at him and partly at myself). After that, things settled down and we remained good roommates. He never put up another chore chart. I guessed the other roommates (one of whom he went to high school with) probably talked him out of the chart. not worth the hassle. They were good guys and for the most part good roommates.

bradwolf07 Glad it worked out, but roommates are crazy. My roommate had a white board that he screwed into the refrigerator and he often wrote super passive aggressive letters to us ambiguously. When I thought of having a plan for cleaning and chores, since only me and my partner were doing most of the cleaning, he got angry and after a two hour conversation with all the roommates he asked me “why is your system we have to follow?” I told him, “Because there is no system to follow and my partner and I are doing everything.” This led to another two hour discussion between us two and he would end up still doing things himself and the majority of everyone did there own thing, so the place was filthy. He was a nightmare and we were close for awhile, but he was selfish.

"I want extra tomatoes. When I say extra, I mean extra" To this place one little tomatoes slice was extra on a Whopper. Which only had two to begin with.
I heard massive giggling thru the speaker before the order was compleat
So, before driving off, I checked the burger. There were 11 tomatoes slices on that burger! I was in tomatoe lovers heaven. So I went in and asked for the person who'd prepped the burger. The place got sheepishly quiet, but the manager called the guy forward. I reached in my pocket, handed him a Fiver and told him 'Well done " and left. For about a year afterward if I went back I always got plenty of tomatoes on my burger.

Big shoutout to the pickle guy for malicious compliance without being extra. I've worked as a cashier/clerk for years, and that kind of stuff can turn a bad customer relationship into a great one in the blink of an eye. Has worked for me more than once.
Incidentally, I too like lots of pickles on some sandwiches. You would not believe the struggle it can be to politely request a ton of pickles and *get* the amount of pickles you wanted. If an employee takes back a food item and corrects it like that, be sure to thank and encourage them. It's better all around, and encourages good customer/employee relations. Far more customers are likely to just demand something and snatch it back rudely.

The second story about the whiny roommate is unfair to the landlord. Even though the whiny roommate is the one suffering it’s still important that the landlord is told about damage as quickly as possible so they can repair it. The landlord needs to be informed about all issues as untreated they can lead to further issues. For example a leaky plumbing can be a very easy and quick repair but if the leak is left to continue it could lead to rot, and mold to the point of the subfloor or even the floor joists having to be replaced.

He left me and my little sister at some chairs to sit
    Down and wait for him
My little sister pointed at a shop and said
"Dad is buying bro die gay"
    I was confused as flip
I went where she pointed it's was a small shop
Turned out my dad buyed a hair dye named
Pro dy gy (you can Google it if you want)
How did she see dad holding the hair dye box while we were
    Sitting you ask?
There is a big card board that has stacked shelf's with this thing
The big cardboard was for the pro dy gy ad so i think she saw him
Pick a box from it and told me. I didn't tell anyone because it's cringy xD

I love the pickle story, everyone has different tastes, and he obviously wanted a burger with a very heavy pickle ratio. I can't even really blame him, there's used to be this awesome hotdog stand where they would offer to put a large pickle spear as a topping, the spear was as bit as the hotdog, but it was still delicious. He probably was sick of asking for "extra pickle" and only getting three extra pickle slices.
