So, I always loved playing on a desk setup. Bought my house in 2019, one of the first rooms that me and my wife did out was my ‘game room’ - then 2020 came around and we all know what happened there. That little gaming sanctuary became a home office - perk was replying to emails on a 4K display. So now, since I still work from home 90% of the time, for all I still have some bits in there that are reminiscent of my game room, I associate it too much to work. So 99% of the time, I’m gaming in the sitting room. Miss my game room. Gonna have to just sell up and buy a new house, only option 🤷🏼‍♀️😂

Depends on the game, room, console/pc and mood.
Like for me, when I want to chill, I always use a tv.
Plus if you’re bedroom is kinda small, you can wall mount your tv and lay down on your bed and play ps5 games on there.
PCs always go together with monitors and not TVs.
Also mood is a good indicator, generally sitting on couch and or laying on bed and playing on a tv after a hard work day always feels heavenly

To be honest I usually feel way more engaged and immersed on the monitor setup but when I'm finished with work and just want to sit back with my mates and play some GTA nothing beats the TV.
For me I value the display technology more than the "TV/monitor" debate. As long as its an OLED I can enjoy it, OLED really is a game changer, if you're fortunate enough to get hold of one or can get a good deal I can't reccomend it enough

I generally only play fps games like CoD or xDefiant with the occasional Injustice 2 or Mortal Kombat 11 session thrown in on my Xbox series s. However, tying up the only tv in my house with the Xbox means nobody else can watch tv. So I made the sacrifice to switch to a monitor setup for my Xbox to allow the tv to be available and I will say the experience feels night and day for me. I feel more zeroed in on my targets in fps games and my wife doesn’t complain about the bloody fatalities on a big screen monitor grossing her out when she walks in while I’m playing mortal kombat.

But if its a good day chores are done and i have nothing else to do i lock in for that 11+ hour game sessions on my 1080 p tv at my desk plus its better on posture for my back most days.

When I tried to play on TV I always have this feeling that I want to sit closer and to be involved, so I usually sit anyway, so no laying down.

I'm A PC Gamer, I have a PS5 But that's mostly just a video streaming device now, My PC is connected to a odyssey G8 OLED ultrawide monitor at my desk while also having a fiber optic HDMI To my TV In the same room it's as simple as pressing a single button on my stream deck while using a software called display fusion to switch from my Desk setup with headphones to My TV Setup with speakers (ARC to tv) and pressing the Home button on my controller to turn steam into big picture mode. i use a Flydigi apex 4 pro controller which has INSANELY Good latency to my PC Even when i am sat down all the way back on my couch. first person/competitive games i tend to play keyboard and mouse but when it comes to racing and 3rd person story games TV All the way!

I have a 50" 2023/24 Vizio that has a 240Hz mode if it recognizes a PC is plugged in. I rarely ever plug my gaming laptop into it but when I do it's super nice. 4K 120Hz for PS5 is all I need, and I don't notice a delay at all.

Depends also on families setup and how old are your children. I used to game in the living room, before my son was born. After him I had to build a setup as TV is his now. I feel like a desk set up is more personal, it's like a santuari, comfortable and I can dedicate at least half 1 hour of good gaming. It all depends but I like my setup so far, I can plug and play my ps5 and my nintendo switch and funcions as my work office room. I love it

I played warzone on 4K tv that support hdmi 2.1 with 120hz but..in fact, it really works only in 1080p. I changed to Alienware 27 monitor 1440p and the game is absolutely another. My gameplay improved so much. To fps games go with monitors…good monitors!!

Hon depends on what I’m playing. I mainly play my docked Switch at my desk because I play a lot of online multiplayer games on it like Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Meanwhile I play my PS5 on my TV because mainly only play single player games on it and watch my 4K Blu Ray movies on the PS5.

For whatever reason I tend to be much more focused when playing on a monitor than on a TV, whether it's playing multiplayer or single story games. I have a Xbox X and PS5 connected to my lg 32gq950-b. Love gaming on that monitor. I have a 55" LG C2 TV but I only use it to watch media content

Games I fancy: BloodBorne, Skyrim, Dark Souls 3, Little Nightmares 1/2, Arkham Asylum/City, Bioshock 1/2. I rarely play though so I’ll only ever invest in a TV/Console I’d hate for an expensive PC setup to just sit there collecting dust + there’s no BloodBorne on PC 😶.

As you said playing on monitors confines you into a small area
If you are a pvp guy just go for the monitor
If you are a chill guy go for the tv
If you are both go for the tv as well

Working from home ruined desk gaming for me, so for now I'm mainly back playing on a TV.
No longer working from home though so my desk is now my desk again, and not my work desk for 40 hours a week, so I might end up playing more at my desk again now!
