As a 550i owner there are some big things I wish I had such at the 7 speed DCT and the bigger brakes. The current rotors are good and the 8 speed is a great transmission but the downshifts on the 7 speed are next level
the m5 and the 550i are the same car same engine just different tune and downpipes/exhaust. You can buy a 550ix for about 30k less than an M5 spend maybe 7k on tune and exhaust and have one faster than an M5.
Ag St Not to mention it still has the ZF 8 speed auto which is more robust and better for power applications. The 8 speed with a tune shifts super fast too. Yeah I’ll go for the 550i

N63TU only, revised engine and supposedly doesn't have 1/3 of the problems that the N63 had. It's basically all models from 14MY onwards, also the 650i m sport sounds the perfect tone in comparison to the 550i m sport which is extremely quiet and underwhelming.
At 57 seconds, all I want to know is where he got that F10 emblem badges for the rear trunk letters. The black f with red 10 looks beautiful. Anyone know where I can get that??
Be prepared for failure. Thats a VERY early N63, not even a TU and even then I wouldn't trust like that. Maybe if you get a post-recall car, but it WILL break. Look in the F10 forums and I promise you they'll talk you out of it, that's why I have a 2014 535i instead
@@yomansam4689 my 2011 550i isn’t broken yet. Has been real good to me tbh. Just make sure it has the black engine cover and not the grey. By this time most early n63s have been replaced with a better engine. Mine was , hence the black cover. N63 isn’t even that bad. S85 is by far the worst.

I'm not sure what "cat" you're referring too? I hope you're not talking about the Catalytic Converter, as you need that to clean up the air coming down from the manifold tubing. To get an easy "aggressive" sound, you can go with a performance downpipe with either catted or catless options. Catless are less restrictive so you'll get more "unclean" air coming through but the sound will completely change the exhaust notes, similar to a performance camshaft and gear setup on a supercharged engine. In the shop, we see lots of people bring in 550i's to have a "True Dual" straight pipe job which deletes the resonators, mid, and rear mufflers, often opting for X-pipes, or larger exhaust pipes from the converter with an open valve bypass. They sound insanely loud but I wouldn't recommend if you want to keep the wife and neighbors happy.
The 550i sounds the V8 business than the M5 and again, just keep it real, wannabe cars are such a huge turn off, keep the original exaust and let the quad exausts belong to the M5.

The 550 have aftermarket Downpipe that’s why you hear the turbo spooling thru the muffler
