Hi Guillard. Thanks for tuning in and for watching this video. Sorry to hear about your mum. My mum passed away in October 2017 and it has taken a long time for me to get over it. I create these videos always wondering what she'd think of them. I like to think that she'd be proud?! Sending you positive vibes from this small island. All of the best.
Best vlog I’ve seen about my little island. Thank you so much for sharing the diversity, beauty and exceptional mixed culture of Mauritius. Mauritian living in the UK for the past 20 yrs. Still misses home like mad and making sure my kids know where I come from. Enjoy Lucy! X
I was a few years ago in Mauritius for 3 months, and I will visit it next year again, and hopely I can live there once forever! Thank you Lucy Leheilleix, to show us all the beautiful things of Mauritius! I respect you much, God Bless You 🙏
Hello Lucy, My name is Stephane and I live in London England and I originally from Mauritius. I recently subscribed to your youtube channel. From watching your RUclips videos every day I can honestly say that I’m proud to be Mauritian i’m proud of my background. I will be coming to Mauritius on the 1st of November I would really hoping if I could meet you in person you seem like a really nice person And full of positive energy ☺️. Have a nice day and keep up the good work 👍
Hi Stephane! Welcome to the channel! I’m so happy that you’re enjoying my content! I love living here and am amazed at the natural beauty, but also feel strongly that more needs to be done to preserve this place. I’d love to meet you, but it might be tricky as I have just had a knee operation and can’t currently walk. Let’s see hey?!
Lucy Leheilleix aww bless you I really hope your gets better And hopefully you can get back on your feet again. I agree with you base of what you said about preserving the island, not everything is about luxury paradise there are some great and beautiful places but also poor places too. I haven’t been for 15 years so I can’t wait to see it with my own eyes how things has changed since then Take care and get well soon ☺️
@@LucyLeheilleix you are using the island and its natural enviroment so efficiently.. surfing, kiting and diving. way to live the good life over there! how would you rate the issue with mosquitos by the way? I've heard others claim that you constantly need mosquito spray to not get "eaten alive". Sounded kinda drastic to me, perhaps you could shed some light on this. Also, when I visit Mauritius, will English be sufficient? thanks for your time! cheers from snowy Vienna
It depends in which region you're staying coz it's gets lower than 24 degrees in the Central Plateau....like Curepipe and Highlands the temperature drops to 11 sometimes. In the Coastal regions it is less cold i agree but in the Plaines Wilhem district it is way colder than 24 degrees for sure.
I’m from the uk where it’s cold most of the time so I can NOT wait to visit here in August 2021, I usually go to the Caribbean so this will be something a bit different or so I’m hoping. Thanks for the video.
Hi Justine, Mauritius is a great alternative to the Caribbean and is certainly worth a visit if you’ve never been here before. Here’s hoping borders open very soon. :)
Thank you so much, you get me,my wife and i we decided to invest in Mauritius after listening to your videos,we will spend few millions for our house in Mauritius.
Hi lucy.. I saw your one video which i find much informative then i go on 2nd and then more. Your videos are to the point . I m from india and wanted to relocate to mauritius. Can u please help me with process that what all things are needed for relocation. Thanks in advance
Hi Juliana. The borders are open, but in a very limited way as one can only fly from Dubai and Paris (and very occasionally RSA). There's also two weeks of quarantine when you arrive here. Let's see what happens next year. All of the best.
If you can, best to visit and then try and line up a job so you can get an op permit. Then you can stay for at least 3 years, or you could buy into a PDS which would give you permanent residency. Good luck.
Hi there. Thanks for checking out my channel. I'm not sure if you've seen the video I did about re-location? If not, here's the link:ruclips.net/video/dMXR25DrDxs/видео.html Perhaps that will help you!? Let me know how you get on.
Are there scuba clubs in Mauritius? I do not mean like dive centres for people to go to on holidays, I mean actual social clubs for members to dive together.
Really nice vid ! Visiting Mauritius next year to surf. Was wondering about localism on some spots, heard some have a bad reputation.Any advice on do's and don'ts or where and where not's ? Thx.

I’m curious about your full face snorkel mask, there is controversy here about how to keep from breathing your own exhaust so to speak. Have you heard of this?
Honestly, December is very hot and humid, and you can be unlucky with a cyclone. My favourite time is April/May as the water is still really lovely for swimming and the weather is really good.
Everything is right except Mauritius had experienced "racial" conflict back in time just after the independance. When digging up, you find out there are still some scares about what happened then. Overall though, it is very peaceful in comparison to the rest of the world 😊

Does it ever get below 25 degrees Celsius (77 degrees) in Mauritius?
It gets a bit chilly on the plateau in winter. Around 14 degrees (I do believe). Tamarin is the hottest part of the coast.
