Thank you Lucy, very informative……clear and concise……and something for us to get our teeth into…..think ours might be retiree and or purchasing a property…..thank you again.
Thanks Lucy. Been thinking about emigrating from Scotland recently since as I get older (currently 65) my ability to handle the cold is rapidly declining. Having had a look at various cost of living comparison sites Mauritius was on my shortlist and I tried looking at the govt website about visas - instant confusion and bafflement! This cleared up a heck of a lot of my confusion although I do still have some questions to find answers for.
Hi! Im going soon from cape town. Busy doing research in this age group Once Im there I know a lot more if you like to keep in touch. Im from Austria originally In South Afrika since 1981
How would you compare retirement in Mauritius with places in the Caribbean, especially for Canadians and Americans? Do some snoebird in Mauritius from December to March, the cooler months? Are you required to remain in Mauritius for 185 days in order not to lose the residency?
First of all: I admire your surname! Channel Islands anywhere in the family's history? Mauritius seems to be very engaged when it comes to different motives people might have to move to it, which is exemplary. What if you haven't or cannot decide(d) yet about your professional future? A a "retiree", you're not allowed to work, not even something small a few hours a week. But if I understood right, you will be able to so with a PRP after 3 years of inactivity!? The "premium" option sounds like a possible choice, but might also command a "premium", am I right? (The visa costs were not mentioned in this case.) But would you only be allowed to work digitally then? What if someone liked to live primarily from his savings but to work a little, too? Thank you for your attention!
Excellent video!...We will be looking at your videos for further info regarding our next move to our paradise destination. It seems Mauritius is somewhat a secret destination. We are from communist Australia and have been looking at sth east asia for a better way of life, BUT have now discovered your channel and are thrilled with your personality and content. Hi Lucy, great wholesome video. My question is, is there a possibility to get citizenship in Mauritius? If so, what are the conditions, restrictions, etc.?

What is it like for Canadians and Americans retired in Mauritius living so far from North America? Do people suffer from island fever from living on an island?
Hi Lucy, this is a great useful video. Can I please ask you where I can find the source reference for all the visas type that you mentioned. Thanks so much ❤
Hi my self VamsiKrishna from India, I seen your videos it's really useful, recently I approached one consultancy and I get study visa but I need to confirm that visa true or fake
My question is under premium visa, how long could one wait to apply for occupation permit? Nevertheless, there is also a condition that under premium visa, one cannot enter labour market. What is the difference between labour market and occupation permit?
You can apply when you want for an OP once here on premium visa. You cannot work in Mauritius though while still on premium visa. You can only work here with an OP, investor or self employed visa 👍🏻
Hi lucy, I love with your video the way explanation, I'm recently graduated in Software Engineering I'm looking job. Can you please talk about how to get job .
Hi there, I don't understand what's the point for people that want to apply for the Retirement Visa of investing without getting anything out of it, being a salary or whatever...How does that work? I assume they get some compensation out of it otherwise why investing?
The retirement visa allows one to live in Mauritius as a resident. An investment is different as via property procurement one can stay but not work, or via a business one can stay and work. What one gets out of these visas is being able to reside in a country or own property with low tax benefits.
@@LucyLeheilleixThank you. So if I don't have a pension in my country but I can deposit each year at least 18K USD in a mauritian bank I can get a retirement residency visa? What if I don't work but I want to join a local Mauritian stock exchange platform and pay taxes over there is that also possible or I got the entire thing absolutely wrong? Basically having my retirement visa, opening a bank account in Mauritius and trading in the local stock exchange/crypto or alike. Thank you in advance. PS: I was told that the real estate schemes aren't very advantageous and I will prefer to stay away from overpriced housing in general... Thanks again.
Anyway, at minute 4:20 you say that if you obtain a Retirement Visa you can also invest in a business but cannot earn a salary. So that's the whole point of my question. Why do I want to do anything like that? Risking invested money and not having a return? Have I misunderstood your words? Would that make me eligible for a tax number in Mauritius somehow? Sorry for insisting on this matter! Have a nice day.
Wow, brilliant content. Thank you. Where can I contact you and your partner company for more info? I would like to make the move but it is going to take time and planning and I need the best advice
@@LucyLeheilleix very nice. do that youtuber need to have a certain income to be eligible for Mauritius digital nomad visa? if that person lives in Mauritius for 5 years, is he/she eligible for citizenship?
great video, i do not get it why they have decided to call 20 year resident permit, permanent resident permit. A permanent residency should not have a timeline, it means that you have the right to live in the country as long as you wish. there is no need to renew your permit.
