Boredom by Tyler, the Creater is one of my favorite examples of two artists who, at the time, felt way different from one another, and ended up complimenting eachother perfectly

Kanye on Fall Out Boy's "This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race - Remix" is one of the worst feature verses I've ever heard but it's also kind of unintentionally hilarious
Truly legendary posse cut I'm surprised wasn't mentioned: Danny Brown's "Really Doe." Danny sets the tone with his opening verse, then being complemented with Kendrick Lamar on the hook and bridge, and Ab-Soul & Earl Sweatshirt's verses. Their voices' different timbres just fit together perfectly.
I can’t believe no one hasn’t mentioned the “self feature” on Trilogy. On Thursday, the second tape, there’s Lonely Star and The Birds Pt. 2, both of which feature a female character called Valerie. (She gets the bonus track named after her, too.) Valerie is just The Weeknd with a voice changer, but, in my opinion, it really is convincing enough to feel like an extra feature on the mixtape besides Drake of all people. “She” only narrates on Lonely Star, but she sings the chorus on TBP2. (The latter track also begins with her crying.)
Oh snap, I actually didn't know that, I legit thought that was someone else. Should've known considering theres no other vocal credits, haha. Craaazy~ I always loved those additions to the tracks. That's awesome!
She doesn’t actually sing the chorus on the birds part 2. He sampled a song off a game called Fahrenheit, and then just pitched up the chorus to make it sound higher. It does sound similar to the lonely star voice but it’s not actually the “girl” singing. It’s a sampled song from Fahrenheit called sandpaper kisses.
@@pepearown4968 well I’ve never listened to French Montana but doesn’t he at least rap on his tracks? Dj Khaled just adlibs and often doesn’t even make the beats. He just pays other vocalists and producers to do the work for him.
4:50 It’s interesting that you bring this up; because I distinctly remember a problem with older mp3’s was that any song featuring an artist, would create a new artist… example: one song creating a new artist category. Tyler the Creator ft. Kali Uchis (this is now a singular artist according to my iPod).
Featured vocalist on EDM songs can really elevate the song into a new level. You can totally play it everywhere not just in the clubs and music festivals
All Drake features on Abel's songs are amazing, and I really loved the work he did with Future too. Also glad you mentioned Kanye's "Monster" and "So Appalled", but I think Jay's verse on Monster was actually pretty good, though his is technically the weakest when compared to Nicki and Kanye's verses. His work on So Appalled was crazy though
Legit wish that Abel and Ariana Grande’s Save your Tears ended up on the actual album. It was already a great song but that collab just pushed it even higher in quality.
I think features can be really powerful in making us reconsider our opinions on artists we may have written off. We'll wanna keep listening to the song even if we're not 100% on the feature at first because we wanna hear the main artist. I had this with the Rico Nasty feature on Ain't No Way from the latest Denzel Curry record, didn't like her part at first but now I enjoy it as much as the rest.
Another fun fact.. wouldn't you guys say that Kanye West "All of the lights" (was another Posse cut) what's mind blowing is that all those people he used was just to sing the hook and nothing else 🤦🏾♂️😂😂 what a waste.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I donʼt know if this also counts, but the fact that BROCKHAMPTON in 2017 has performed their best songs without having any MC superstar really proved to be the greatest boy band ever. Also, posse cuts are great.

fun one I found out recently: a young Minnie Riperton (Loving You, mother of Maya Rudolph) was on a novelty track by Pigmeat Markham called Here Come the Judge. now that's a weird one
Gotta love big features, like 4-5 artists on the same track ('posse cuts'). Personal fav is '1train' by A$AP Rocky ft Kendrick, Joey Bada$$, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Big K.R.I.T., Yelawolf
those possy reminded me of the megacollabs by discpile like "we don't play" and "how we roll" with 30. yes, 30. different producers who are all part of discpciple and each doing their own part in the song. also reminded me of METHHEAD FREESTYLE by lil darkie (which is hella fire btw), where every one in their "spider gang" is listed indiviually (around 10 artists, but still alot)
This Drake x Michael Jackson thing reminded me of Ye and Cudi using Michael's vocals for Can't Look In My Eyes. Usually I'm not a fan of posthumous features but I can't be mad at this one
Plastic Beach by Gorillaz is the features album. ¾ of the album has features. Only 4 songs from the album don't have a feature, and it feels like a collaboration album.
Issues I have with this video: The late 90s and early 2000s were full of ranfom rap features on pop songs like Lil Mama on the boyfriend video The longest posse cut has to be DJ Kayslay's rollin 150 deep
@onlysmallbites There is a Song by DJ Kay Slay called “Rolling 50 Deep”... there is 50 Rappers on it, 17 minutes long so that would be the longest Posse Cut ever... but they made a second Version called “Rolling 100 Deep” sooooo you do the math

It didn’t technically release but there’s also an 18 minute remix of Desiigner’s Panda featuring everyone in Kanye West’s Good Music label, if you search up “panda good music” it will show up. This remix is definitely a contender for the longest posse cut of all time being 6 minutes longer than The Roots’ cut
I always figured those in the music biz pushed features in order to promote lesser-known artists on their label.
fun one I found out recently: a young Minnie Riperton (Loving You, mother of Maya Rudolph) was on a novelty track by Pigmeat Markham called Here Come the Judge. now that's a weird one
"How my friends look at me when I tell them im traffic" 😀
Love you bro. Continue thriving!
1 Train still slaps to this day! Best Posse Cut!
Gotta love big features, like 4-5 artists on the same track ('posse cuts'). Personal fav is '1train' by A$AP Rocky ft Kendrick, Joey Bada$$, Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Big K.R.I.T., Yelawolf
'Is a fire song! Such a crazy collab.
@@onlysmallbites dude I found another longest posse cut. At almost 20 minutes long at that. It is Lil Darkie's "Death Squad"
It's not good byw
Travis got the killer features‼️
Are we gonna forget about “third eye shit” by Joey badass that has like 12 features
those possy reminded me of the megacollabs by discpile like "we don't play" and "how we roll" with 30. yes, 30. different producers who are all part of discpciple and each doing their own part in the song.
also reminded me of METHHEAD FREESTYLE by lil darkie (which is hella fire btw), where every one in their "spider gang" is listed indiviually (around 10 artists, but still alot)
oh 20 producers my bad
All Of The Lights from Ye has like 13 features
This Drake x Michael Jackson thing reminded me of Ye and Cudi using Michael's vocals for Can't Look In My Eyes. Usually I'm not a fan of posthumous features but I can't be mad at this one
Really Doe by Danny Brown ft Kendrick Lamar, ab-soul, and Earl. Has the hardest Earl verse ever
Plastic Beach by Gorillaz is the features album. ¾ of the album has features. Only 4 songs from the album don't have a feature, and it feels like a collaboration album.
Issues I have with this video: The late 90s and early 2000s were full of ranfom rap features on pop songs like Lil Mama on the boyfriend video
The longest posse cut has to be DJ Kayslay's rollin 150 deep
@onlysmallbites
There is a Song by DJ Kay Slay called “Rolling 50 Deep”... there is 50 Rappers on it, 17 minutes long so that would be the longest Posse Cut ever...
but they made a second Version called “Rolling 100 Deep” sooooo
you do the math

Kedalos with Exodus: *Yo bass nation, I know what we're gonna do today!*
Loved the SB2H bit
