Sigh 😌 i just really love the pure, natural, extremely beautiful sound of an old Big Cam Cummins whistling... anyone else?
It's beautiful. I hate that we live in a world that won't allow these motors anymore
Don't know much about semi's but that thing sounded cool as hell
@@MrWisdom79 😔😔
@@wheeln24-79 yea
Turn some fuel to it and it will sound even better and blow some black smoke too
5:03 you can thank me by pressing the thumbs up😁
Jason H great ass !!!!
Finally something worth watching on this channel
👌
AVG Joe right lol the gay troll Matt doesn’t think so lol
@@speedtrapp219d2 Aww, what's the matter? You hard up because the last piece of ass you had was when your finger tore through the paper while you were wiping yourself? LMFAO.
Thanks for sharing Bruce i have 1982 Silver Eagle Bus i found in the back woods, 8V71 Detroit in her. The old girl started with a little work, then put it in gear and she rolled. I brought it home and love it. Me and the wife put it all together made it a motor home. Thanks again for sharing i love old big truck and you got it started.
Back in the eighties I drove for a guy who owned one of these It was his and he drove it ...It was well looked after and a sweet truck. The 3406 b cat had close to a million km. when he finally sold it and then the second owner drove it for several years.
Back when a freightliner was a " really nice" truck!!
Boy that old Freightliner sure brings back a few memories I drove a 1987 FLC with a Cummins 444 and 13 Speed Rd. ranger in it it had that big flat steering wheel that even with power steering you could break your knuckles across the top of the dash or hit the a pillar if you were not careful the truck was the roughest riding truck I ever drove 30 years later my eyeballs are still bouncing around in my head hence the term freight shaker
Always liked those long nose Shakers. Never owned one because of the old length laws, but always wished I could buy one and stay under the 55' length limits. Once upon a time, Cabovers were the only way to have sleepers and stay legal with a 45' trailer.:)
My 1980 FLC was off the road 16 years and was in sad shape. Mice ate wiring and filled heater box with massive nest, headliner had one 2 ft. in diameter! But it ran and had good oil pressure. I fixed it up the truck and started trucking with it. 6 years I have ran the old girl and she has provided for me and the family. Them old rigs have alot left in them if you just put a little time. Im Never selling mine. Old FLCs are my favorite trucks.
I really like diesel mechanics and I think it’s really cool a truck that’s been stopped for years, you can get the engine running and still walk away on occasion
What beautiful machines !! Certainly with great trips and stories. It deserves a beautiful restoration!
Brake pads are most likely frozen to the drum from moisture. Build air and tap the shoes. They should break free. Peterbilt headlights, Kenworth seats in a Freightliner aka Freight shaker. The combination is commonly known amongst old timers as a Peter Worth Shakin.
You know nothing.
That is what happened.he was rocking is back and forth trying to break them loose. I have to do that with my trailer if I don’t use them a lot.
@@allenhetrick7694 I know a lot.
I love that freightliner,it had no problem starting up,I wish I could buy it,fix it up,and clean it up,and drive it,maybe turn it into a wrecker. After highschool,I'm gonna go get a job,and cdl,and buy that truck.
Parabéns pra vcs em ter caminhões lindos assim.e poderem dar vida a eles novamente. Aqui no Brasil não temos essas relíquias.
This is one of them old diesels I'd be thrilled to purchase! No oil or fuel leaks, good rear air ride suspension, seems to build proper air pressure, lights and ignition and gages work right!! I'd take it any day!
One of my favorite Rigs are the 1988 Freightliner FLC120.
Honestly that Old FrieghtShacker Sounds Beautiful With that Turbo
Just found this vid. That is a super sweet Freight! Holy crap, after all those years sitting, and that motor starts & runs solid! That’s a damn good truck, just needs a healthy heap full of TLC. Man I hope someone gives that thing a good home. What a waste if that gets scrapped. I’m up in Minnesota, no way can I get it. I love early 80s FLCs.....
Looks like a usa themed rig, the frame is blue and red, really nice.
Love your videos dude. Being in the UK we simply don’t have these beautiful machines. Keep up the great work. Be safe 👍🏻
What you need is that flatbed 67-72 ford at 11:56. I thought that’s what it was when you panned across in the last video there. Good trucks, I used to run 3 of them. Build you a ramp truck/car hauler. With a cummins.
I’m so glad you came back, I really wanted to see this truck again.
Only after “afterburner”
is done then buy it
This truck starts up better after 15 years of stitting than all of those new trucks bro
I had one had 400 big camlll Jake's 6" straight. Love those sounds...loved that truck...
I enjoy these videos. Just a hint from a guy up north. Release the clutch when start these engines. It will make them start easier by not spinning the mass of gears in the transmission. Keep up with the nice videos. Thank you
Eres un gran maestro en la forma de conducir los videos y enseñanzas, Le Saludo desde Costa Rica, América Central
Just to say bruce, you can always have a long nose freightliner instead of always finding a cabover, try something different and trust me, you do not want to miss a chance in driving or fixing a long nose freightliner.
Very true specially a 77 fright shaker (classic) dying breed
@@keepontruckinman4688 I know right.
@@MaxtronusPrime_ he is just doing that to make a video he was never interested in that truck I'm pretty sure about that.
What do you mean? Hes going to get another cabover, stretch the frame so he can have 3 of the same semis
@@keepontruckinman4688 true
Gee Bruce I know it’s 4 years later but of all the trucks you’ve had this one had great potential and if you put air ride on the cab they smooth right out and they have a really classic look. 😎
I love the American Trucks. I have been playing the trucks computer game (American Trucks) based in the USA trucks for 13 years and I like to drive exactly the models you showed in the video. Wonderful.
The old Freight Shaker has some life left in her, but I don't think you should check the load boards just yet.
This all be a great project truck, after you finish the Air Force truck
Bojangles The Wizard assuming he’s doesn’t give up 3/4 of the way through
Yeah
I second
Why he’s just gonna wash it put new tires in it and sell it saying how much of a awesome journey it was fixing it up for a transporter but don’t have the time for it and buy another
@@BurgerBin don`t forget Lots of Shiny Chrome !
I would get that truck in a heartbeat, they are super cheap to repair and hold their value like no other. I love old trucks
Man I love the sound of a big cam, I could sleep to that sweet music!
Buy it!!!! The brakes a just froze on the drums. You could make that thing amazing!!!!!!!!
I think you should do a will it start series with stuff in that junk yard
Love the sound of a 400 big cam 😍 you can't beat it
Absolutely love the ol Big Cams. Have one just like this in nice shape!
Talk about nuts. That Freightliner tried to walk herself out of the grave.
She didn't want to stay there any more
@@BatponyBrony Amazing how those old diesels can sit for 15, 20 years and crank right up!
@@thomasdragosr.841 It's because they refused to quit when they got parked.
I love cabovers they’re what I learned to drive on but it’s time for a conventional brother. Git it!
If you buy it, dont stretch it boss man... Cool old FREIGHTLINER, dad used to haul lumber with one just like that.
My dad had one of these......I took it from Kc to La....back in the day...400 cummins 13 over eaton...and a Jake.....I was 22 or so at the time
Finally something worth watching on this channel....Amber
lol, True dat !
That's rude as hell and against all bro codes!!! That's his lady and the mother of his child!! Be respectful children!!!
@@anthonymatteri8387 bro it's a joke
@L dunk on u Gaming lol damn right he is
Question is why is Amber with him LOL
This is one truck you could actually resell, thats why the man wants a little bit of money for it.
Just a thought. Freightliner’s require the service brake to be fully pressed to release the parking break. So try pressing the driving brake all the way to the floor and then press the yellow parking brake.
Amber scores a thumbs up, and what a fantastic piece oh trucking history!
My grandfather was in the business. Owned a machine shop and worked on frames and engines. I remember him saying, never buy a truck that has been parked and forgotten about. Nobody parks a truck that makes money. That thing is a money pit.
Or the driver died !
@@briantruck2284 yup 👍
She sounds like a good running engine once everything became primed up they always sound harsh after sitting for so long. I hope someone buys it and restores her to its former glory.
That would cost more than a new truck
@@bertgrau9246 not if the person did their own work. I would say around 20 to 25k and this truck would be like a showroom truck.
I from Btazil, I working in the Cummins, big cam is a top machine, my english do not good, sorry the mistakes.
Part 2 Get some safety glasses and a big brass hammer. The only problem is the brakes shoes are rusted to the drum. If you hit the brake drum a few times the brake will release. Just remember the brake drum is cast and will break if you hit it to hard.
I’d say about 503 mins in is the best thing I’ve seen on this channel
Amber needs to be in more of your videos.
Best part of video was at 5:00.
Oh mr.
That Cummins sounds so good and your girl is fine this is the best thing I've seen on RUclips in a while love your videos so much

Bruce Wilson sends, a hug to Brazil, we're watching, I'm a fan, I still want to know this place
Gotta let the glow plugs warM up for cranking! But I’m impressed it even started
Nice job getting it going ... now all you need is $40 grand and a few thousand hours of work and you’d have yourself a nice 20 thousand dollar truck 😆
What you meant to say is you need a mechanic.. Right? Cause this fucker is not one..
He needs to come see you guys and help out.. Dont you need a good fucker upper around the shop ?? Lol.Lol.. 😁
you mean a $20,000.00 yard ornament

@@jackmehoff2961 well Hes got 2 already.. I mean That 1st truck would have been done by now with all the time and money waisted on the other 2 he has now and his youtube ratings would have been thru the roof.. But in order to do that you need a real MECHANIC!! Not the prodical Fucker upper you have now..
its will.be awesome to see that that truck getting restored and it will be a different video for us plz restore it
I really like the sound of the Cummins engine.
I wonder if you and your crew are planning to restore those 1980 Freightliners. Those trucks deserve more life.
Did anyone see the lizard run up the fuel lines at 541
Yea lol
Original lot lizard

Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed. Lol
@Battle Boat lol at least people 82 cared enough to like his comment so calm yourself down and maybe do some growing up yourself 🤣
Let’s go here after 5 seconds posted
I love those square window shakers. I would LOVE to restore one just to have it.
Buy a running driver for 9k.
Anyone see the tiny lizard being like 'the fuck is that noise, im out' at 5:45? :D
Motor is clean for a truck that's been sitting for 15+ years.
Gosh it would be soo satisfying to see that thing get power washed.
Great video ! Glad to see u back to will it start !
Классная тачка фред! Я так надеялся, что он её возьмёт и востановит. Очень красивая классика будет!🙂👍
Did anyone else see the lizard run across the engine when she hit the ignition button?? Lol
Big J. Beats yes xd
Nope,good eye
Yes I did lol
Lol has to replay it
Her name is Amber, smh
We need more project trucks on the channel💯
I have a 2014 Pete 367 with a 550/2050 Cummins with an Eaton 18 speed and while I LOVE my truck, I miss the old 500 Cats and the 2 stroke Detroits. I love Cummins too and have family that work for them, but it's hard to beat the old 2 stroke Detroits.
I have old buddy got 1981 model frieghtliner long nose. He still drive it till this day in oilfields im south louisiana.
5:03 family friendly 😂
5:03....Absolutely gorgeous.....😘😘😘👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
He's definetly been holding out on us 🤣
Lucky bastard
Man IDC what anyone says I love freightliners! I have always buad great luck with them using them I'm the woods and that was some of the toughest work I have seen done using semis and never once had a problem. They also generally make great power! I had an XL classic with dual turbos and I could barely keep up with it using a cclb Chevy 3500 and the truck was loaded pulling a skidder too! When it was uploaded she would cream down the roads. My favorite model definitely has to be the XL classic day cab but unfortunately the only problem I have with that model is the cabs just to small as quite a tall guy I could never drive one comfortably without changing the seat out, do you have any Western stars down south? I would love to seen a will it start to see how they hold up over time! I live the reliability of the Western stars but god damn they barely make enough power to move them self's around without putting a proper size turbskee on them but I'll be damned they have the best sounding exhaust brakes especially for being a old Detroit
Great vlog, I really did pay any attention to truck vlogs but your channel as inspired me to get my hgv licence in the UK. A thought have you ever considered a expedition truck build would be a interesting vlog. Thanks for the great channel Lee
hi Bruce, all right congratulations on the work,, I really like your videos, I'm Brazilian, very successful!

So. From Cab Overs to Curb Sniffers! Will we see this old girl in a future lineup? Man, Im thinking you need sponsors for tires and batteries and parts suppliers!
Maybe the 75 Chrome Shop could sponsor him. He spends enough there to keep them in business
Hey Bruce thanks for another great video. I’m from Australia and been watching since I came across from ol’ Cleetus Mcfarland channel when you worked on white buffalo and I stayed your will it start videos of old tractors, can’t believe what you find and what you actually get running. Awesome that you read the comments and it’s good to see you have a thick enough skin not too listen to all the keyboard jockeys with their negative narrow minded shit on how you doing it wrong because your doing own thing your way and making your own mistakes! If they don’t like it don’t watch it! You never say that they are are a “how too” video! I watch them all if I agree with how you’ve done something or not it’s all great content. Keep them coming.
I love all of your videos🔥🔥
