- In this video I show you how to retrofit LCI headlights onto your Pre-LCI E90 BMW. I also show you how to code the car after to have no errors.
This really modernizes the look of the car and in my opinion makes it look much better.
Now that LCI cars are getting older and are starting to get parted out you can do this conversion for a few hundred dollars if you play your cards right.
We are using the INPA software suite to code the LCI Tail Lights to the car, specifically NCS Expert.

Hey man , it is a cool video and very useful info about the coding. I just wanted to know about upgrading the headlights when you put the new ones LCI , are they coming will all the bulbs, xenon and balast for xenon, so they are “plug&play” ? Because when buying Used lci headlight , they come “nacked” no belbs , xenon , balast at it , andthey are saying we cant use the one we have on the can already mounted

Had to sub man idgaf how old these vids are you stay helping me with shit for my E90. With that said, I’m reading that going from pre lci xenon to lci xenons require at least new ballasts, yet here you’ve just plugged and played, is there something I’m missing?

@@forweb2842 for halogen its plug and play. But xenon needs a couple of changes. And you need a specific tutorial for the items needed. But halogen lci is plug and play

I have a LCI e90 2011 which comes with xenon headlights but without cornering lights and adaptive headlights. I want to change them to AHL with the cornering function. Is this plug and play or would I need anything else besides the head light assembly or coding?

Just done prelci xenon to lci xenon on my e92. All lights work but the leds such as the angel lights and indicators flicker constantly. No idea what to do. Voltage monitor checks have been turned off
Ive turned all cold and warm checks to not active but my angel lights and indicators still flicker when the engine is on but fine when the engine is off.
Please advise
Probably cutting the wire connected to the LED and connect the anti flickering harness between the cut wire would resolve the problem? But not sure.. good luck thou

Can you help me retrofit my e63 from adaptive xenon to standard LED and coding?
Just curious, my inner lights never come on except for when taking a sharp corner at low speeds or when using blinker they dimly light up. They are also a halogen bulb. When pulling stock back for flash to pass my normal highbeams just activate. Car is 2011 335is. My older e90 pre lci flash to pass was super bright. Granted that is the only time the inner bulb came on. Yours are running constantly?
Only doing this for even angel eye distribution on my e92. I see facelifted models with bright ones through the day and get very jealous. If only bmw had their shit together and had even distribution in the factory lol
Pretty sure you can get a Carly OBD, and change brightness of the DLRs

Does anyone know if the control module from the pre-LCI xenons work on the LCI bi-xenons? Most of the lights sold on ebay don't come with the module.
Hey did u figure this out? I'm looking to get an ebay set lci model for my pre lci car. Planning to also buy lci ballasts and wires for the HID bulb, but I think I'd be able to use my current adaptive module and motors?

Hey, I am about to install some (what I believe) to be adaptive lci xenons to my 335i, which from factory doesnt have adaptives. However, after purchasing them I noticed the projector is pointing all the way one direction and isnt centered. Is there a way to fix this?
Was fitment same as pre lci lights? Gonna buy LCI lights from a guy for 180$!!! Real steal. He said they didn't fit his pre lci though. Also the car I am going to buy has xenon and adaptive headlights. Will there be any issues? The lci are xenons, not sure if adaptive. Can I just use the pre lci modules or something?

hi, I have the following problem: I have retrofitted the LCI headlights with cornering lights and the right headlight lights up to the left when you steer to the right. I wired everything correctly and coded it correctly, no errors in the on-board computer, what else can you do so that the right headlight swivels correctly to the right?

Quick question .do u know if the headlight brackets are innerchangeable? Or do I need to upgrade to the lci bracket as well.. it looks like they bolt onto the car at the same spots... if I could avoid buying them that would be helpful..any help would be great ..👍👍
Yeah the brackets are interchangeable.
So is the frm2 module needed if going from pre lci xenon adaptive to lci xenon adaptive?

Hello everyone
I'm changing pre-LCI xenon light to LCI xenon light.
I follow the step in vedio and mostly succsess.
The only problem now is the angel eye will only on of 2-3 sec , after that I should let the car sleep and then the angel eye can be on of 2-3 sec again.
I check the fault code with ista and I think it would be some short circuit relayed problem.
Dose anyone know how to fix this issue?

But I think it's because LCI angel eye has lower resistance and trigger the short circuit cut out

Other than the potential voltage differences and other problems that you might encounter you have to retrofit the headlight washers and the sensors for the auto leveling feature.
I was wondering if you know how to code a single stage airbag to work in a USA car? I have set fahrerbag_stufe2_1 to nicht_aktiv but it is setting off a passenger restraint malfunction error. I tried to clear the malfunction using INPA but it won’t go away. Am I missing anything?

I'm in the same boat. I don't really like the updated headlights with the "eyebrow". And the PRE LCI tails look so much nicer
More classic look. I mean the updated modernized look isn't bad.. but I wouldn't go through all that trouble to update it

Up and down test lol, you mean auto-leveling, most cars require this because, the projector wouldn’t level when going over bumps and dips, and wouldn’t blind anyone.
