Moby asked the crowd what song he should play next at this show in Ohio and a friend of mine shouts out the name of this song. Moby replies, "oh really?, ok" and proceeded to blow the roof off the place.
And then everyone clapped?
They don't call him Moby for nothing cuz there she blows😋
He's named after his great-grandfather Melvin book Moby Dick
That whole album was incredible....I like all moby but that one was so different. Couldn't believe his evolution as a musician
@@robmcafee9162 it was the only good album... he just became a woke loser beta after that ...
Excellent cover. Moby delivers the angst.
Animal Rights is still my favorite Moby album!
100%
You know, I've always loved this song. It's my go-to 'life sucks' song.
I really prefer the Mission of Burma version, but Moby does a very credible cover here. And you can understand the lyrics 🤣
Better than the Anti-Flag cover lol.
This song never gets old.
The original version from Mission of Burma is amazing
Originally by Mission of Burma. 1981. I first heard it in 1982 and it was a favorite since. Moby did good by getting more people to hear this passionate song. Now, go look up the original, it’s better.
you have link to the original?
@busyslim here's the link. Google.com
@@banangy disagree. The original is a classic, but Moby takes it to another level here
@@luv2eatpuss79 nah
I like them both to be honest and I first was listening to the originl until I discovered Moby's version. now they play one after the other in my playlist . the original first and then moby's. that's how I like it
Most underestimated number of Moby
the best of Moby especially album's animal rights
Only Moby could cover this song and get away with making people believe it is his own. Love you, Moby, but Mission of Burma were colossal at this song
Wow. I did not know that.
I like Moby's version better.
@@michaellewandowski6469 Mobys version is more emotional. I love it.
Yeah I seriously doubt that was ever his intentions but ok Boomer
How bout his cover of sweet home Alabama? Not sure he ever recorded it but played live thať tour...
A credible cover. Moby always surprises me. Not a fan, don't listen to his stuff usually, but he does this pretty well IMHO
Never knew this one had a video =O
I really love the entire album "Animal Rights," I think it's very underrated.
So hard to say that Moby actually did a good job with a classic Mission Of Burma song did he did a an excellent job! Part of my teenage years.
still lovin this song in 2020.. anyone else?? more songs like this one Moby! love it!!
That's not a song from moby but by Mission of Burma
Seek the source, Mission of Burma.
Loving it. Making A mix.
The Original is 10 times better !
Lovin it either in 2022 🤘
My friends say they like Moby and I say hey listen to this...... and MINDS BLOWN
After so many years i ve just found out that my favourite Moby's song is a cover!I really like covers though!
Thank you Moby❤ you fill the unfillible void and find the deepest parts to expose to the surface. Rain falls and the sky shudders lives on in infamy in my heart.
Great riff... right up there with L7s Pretend that we’re Dead.
Your "Animal Rights" is the one of my favourite album. Perfect.
I was literally BLOWN AWAY when I first heard "That's when I reach for my revolver" on radio back in the mid '90s. "His one and only aim." Lol!
I still have my original album on the shelf…timeless!
I like the addition of the guitar solo.
This is one of my most favorite songs.
Thank Moby!
So many years are gone.. and I still love this song and felt that is One of the best Songs that every have been written 💚 thanks Moby ✌💚
He didn’t write this song...
This is a mission of Burma song, ding dong
Moby does this song in a great way.
It's great to see these older music videos. Thanks for uploading them all Moby! I haven't seen a lot of these before.
My favourite song on Animal Rights.
I miss angry Moby :'(
he's plenty angry nowadays mate
lol
Ny Zv hope you're doing well now
he is stil confused of this world, but the age, the years on this planet makes you a little bit quieter.... the new album is again in the direction of animal libaration
This is my favorite album he was raunchy angry 🤘🏼
Mission of Burma, one of Boston's best cira 1979!
I didn't realize it was actually covered by Moby. I always thought when people said Moby they were saying MoB (Mission of Burma)!
That's funny.
I get it: Mo B. Astonishing coincidence!
I’m very sad that I was 16 when this song was released but I never heard it until I was 43!!!
I'm 47 and brought this album just last week.... can't stop playing it. Moby doing the punk thing perfectly.... I like his electronic stuff but this album is superb.... and this track the best on it for me
It is a cover of a Mission of Burma song from the 1980s.
Genius song. Moby got about 40% of it.
Mobil, this is a Great one…live your music
You young'n realize that this song is from a band called Mission of Burma? Its from the album "signals, calls and marches" Released in 1981.
Thank you Moby for keeping it rocking.
Make America Punk Again......
Best Moby's song ever ... even though it's a cover !
this was a song by mission to burma round 81---moby does it well
Better
@@PNM_79 you are right
Don’t let MOB fans read this. I love ‘em both. I think Animal Rights didn’t deserve the universal panning. He isn’t reinventing the wheel, he’s merely adept at this form of rock. Give him a little credit!
kevin urban No he doesn’t
He's out of tune multiple times. Irritating.
love the energie in this
Isso q é som de verdade 100 palavras para descrever esse som
Excelent cover of Mission of Burma's awsome song.
Great cover. Favorite thing Moby did.
Animal Richts 1996! never forget that spirit. riot
I like this song
Love this cover
This song is just too epic, he should've given MOB more credit though. We played a version of this live, video of it on our channel for those interested.
the man That's When I Reach For My Revolver, I thought 1997, and start follow him since then till now
This vid just brings me back to hangin out in the 90's
Im 39 in a few days watching this on wifi at a 7/11 in Ireland. Some things never change!
just great
Moby has taste of music😍😍😍
Чёрт возьми!...Слушаю каждый день,уже в течении месяца...
For some reason love this❤
Prefer this version better! Moby can do whatever he wants. Legend.
I love this song
a rare gem
Such a good track.
Filmed in New Egypt NJ right next to Ft. Dix. Must have been back in the early 90's after the gulf war.
...huge...because prodigy and madonna...moby...ur dreams are within ur reach...this is the best mody song...
I love it
moby is OG.
original G.O.A.T.
dude has a broad range of styles. i wish i could of been an artist back when the rave scene was what it started out as.
Once I had my heroes
Once I had my dreams
But all of that is changed now
They've turned things inside out
The truth is not that comfortable, no
And mother taught us patience
The virtues of restraint
And father taught us boundaries
Beyond which we must go
To find the secrets promised us, yeah
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit fights to find its way
A friend of mine once told me
His one and only aim
To build a giant castle
And live inside his name
Cry and whispers sing in muted pain
A friend of mine once told me
His one and only aim
To build a giant castle
And live inside his name
Cry and whispers sing in muted pain
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit fights to find its way
Tonight the sky is empty
But that is nothing new
Its dead eyes look upon us
And they tell me we're nothing but slaves
That's when I reach for my revolver
(...but slaves)
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
And in it sign his name
Iconic
i love you Moby
so good
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr8 song!!!!!!
aMAZING
Moby was my childhood hero because he lived in the same neighborhood as me
Great record.
Moby when he was trying to channel his inner REM.
Thought exactly the same thing with this song.
lol
When I first heard of REM, I thought it WAS Moby
Good job.
Really good cover.
ich liebe es
This is what i woud wanted you to play!!!!!
Great art.
Reminds me of Connecticut Radio 104.1 Fest at Riverside Park
Amo amo muitooooooooooo

Is the great punk rock song of all time
awesum man 8 out of 10
GO Moby!!!
tHANK FOR OPENING MY....
Badass 2021
If you like this track, be sure to hear the original by Mission of Burma. The album track is good and there's a live version with dozens of punks coming up on stage too that may actually be better--it has a pronounced tempo change, a speed-up for the chorus.
Yeasss!!!
Someone clue me in... I've never really listened to Moby. I thought he was a solo electronic music act... How did this rockin' Mission of Burma come about?!
He was in a hardcore band in the early 80s.
His early stuff is electronic but he flirts with it all. This was from the album ‘Animal Rights’, which was throughly panned by critics. I really dug this. A Mission Of Burma cover not done so well since REM covered “Academy Fight Song”
A different video appeared on MTV in 1996. He’s in a car with a woman, and the line “that’s when I reach for my revolver” was replaced with “that’s when I realize it’s over”
Gas is $1.03/gal here. Holy shit.
Lance Bangs.
When Moby had a band? I learned something
Catherine Wheel as well had a good cover of this Mission of Burma´s song
Moby live 🤘🏻😎 1996👯🏼♂️
Support Soundgarden in Germany. Cologne 🤩👍🏻
me siento muy triste con esta cancion, nunca tuve padres, la vida es muy solitaria
Everyday when I’m at work I’m I think about this song😂🤣
great song, I miss going to see Mission on Burma, those were the good old days, this is a good version! Is that Jennifer in the video? I thought for a second it might be?
bigger than life
Mission of Burma cover version...didn't know that it was a 1981 original song? until today.
The Rollo & Sister Bliss vocal mix of this track still haunts me to this day.
After subconsciously turning up the volume in order to properly hear the 4 min+ intro - it rips through your speakers to blow your mind, forcing you to scream out the pain that is inherent deep within the first primitive wail of gut-wrenching, terminal, realisation.
harika!
its gotta be damn good if Moby covers it
In The States this song featured another video, with Moby driving a car
