This is amazing. I know that the original is made by Mission of Burma. As a Christian woman who gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby boy 👦🏾 this year Mark Simon Robert ❤️🫶❤️ (I’m actually here to link this song to him - though I of course have it as a single) This song is a soundtrack of the year of his birth - just like Iggy Pop Lust For Life was for me (I’m born back in 1977. Also Born Slippy is one of my sons “soundtrack songs of 1996” is. I love you Moby! You mean a lot to a lot of people! I’m also vegan 🌱 I’m not a leftist - I’m a Christian, I once was a leftist. It’s their violent behaviour and pro abortion that made me leave. I was forced to do an abortion by my mother and my sons paternal grandmother and father and it made me more or less go insane because of the hormonal stress afterwards. No support. Let’s face it: it was selfish motivated murder on their behalf. For them it was just like me pulling out a tooth. For me it was killing my child and I didn’t wanted to do that and I was guilt ridden for years and years and I still am. I might go to hell for this, for something these grownup middle age women forced me to do - my mum even said that if I didn’t go through with it, she’d kick me out of the house: meaning I as a 15 year old girl and still in elementary school would have no where to sleep or eat. Afterwards I still had no support and even if I used drugs before and even my mother handed me drugs such as alcohol and benzodiazepines and opioid painkillers and at an early age we smoked cigarettes together whilst drinking coffee and alcohol (which I’d never do with my son or step son), I started using heroin after this abortion because it was taking a toll on me. It was like a dream entity or day dream anxiety attack harassing me. I struggled with anorexia and I had epileptic episodes and it was really frustrating. All I really could do was to resort to drugs. But I had music; special songs! I’m so ever grateful for some bands and some special songs ❤️
2022 and still rocking!!!!
2023 represent
One of my favourite songs ever, legend :)
He didn't write this originally
I love this track. This guy can make so much different kinds of music and it all sounds damn good.
Once I had my heroes
Once I had my dreams
But all of that is changed now
The truth begins again
The truth is not that comfortable, no
Mother taught us patience
The virtues of restraint
Father taught us boundaries
The knowledge we must go
I'm trying to protect my unity
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit passes by this way
A friend of mine once told me
His one and only aim
To build a giant castle
And in it sign his name
Sign it with complete community
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit passes by this way
Now that the sky is empty
And that is nothing new
Instead they look upon us
When they tell me
That we're nothing
I say!
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit passes by this way
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit passes by this way
Moby messed the lyrics up badly, completely obliterating the meaning of the song -- but MoB eventually forgave him.
What's the Idea of these lyrics?
Sorry, I'm Brazilian and not that smart :/
So beautiful!
Il vecchio moby il punk che c'è in molti di noi... talmente bello quanto irriconoscibile
Σωστός ο Μόμπυ !
It's a cover song. Original from Mission of Burma
Pure Rock'n Roll
Das ist am besten
It's a good version but I still prefer Mission of Burma original.
Super.!!!!!!
I'm sure I had this album when it came out but didn't like it... maybe I need to relisten cos this is great :)
Great song; it still is....!
Good version!
fucking good song.So many memories
I love this Kick Ass Song so much!!!
Great song! Reminds me of Stiff Little Fingers.
Reminds me of Mission of Burma
Mission of Burma wrote this.
But Moby messed the lyrics up, badly.

Best version everrrr
Eso es lo que alcanzo a favor de mi revólver
Top!!! 👌
One of the best grunge tracks out there
hooded zip tops was our generation..
Molto bella
genius
That's a great cover. Still I think the Original is better. Most probably my favourite song by Mission of Burma.
Moby is God. 🎸🎼🎼🤟
❤
Mission of Burma only
[Verse 1]
Once I had my heroes
And once I had my dreams
But all of that is changed now
They've turned things inside out
The truth is not that comfortable, no!
[Verse 2]
And Mother taught us patience
The virtues of restraint
And Father taught us boundaries
Beyond which we must go
To find the secrets promised us, yeah
[Hook]
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit fights to find its way
[Verse 3]
A friend of mine once told me
His one and only aim
To build a giant castle
And live inside his name
Cry and whispers sing in muted pain
Yeah
[Hook]
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when it all gets blown away
That's when I reach for my revolver
The spirit fights to find its way
[Verse 4]
Tonight the sky is empty
But that is nothing new
Its dead eyes look upon us
And they tell me
We're nothing
But slaves
That's when I reach for my revolver
Just slaves
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
That's when I reach for my revolver
They got the lyrics wrong, it's "DANCE, dance when I reach for my revolver!" :D - I'll never forget Dub War introducing this song on WahWah :D
💟💟💟💟
Moby-entrycolefanogenia
When I hear the word culture.....
Moby poses like Cobain
When i See one Direction in the background...
THAT'S WHEN I REACH FOR MY REVOLVER :)
"...make so much differend kinds of music..."
Oh the irony. ;-)
Although it's not as good as Mission of Burma, it's not bad TBF.
I play this song if I have to wait somewhere in a cue ... A lot of kind people like this song, I can always go first.
For not fucked up version of this track search for: "Mission of Burma".

I prefer this to the original
I wouldn't call asking the original artists if they could cover this song and paying the license rights "Stealing"
Moby went from a big club hit (GO,)
Then decided to make animal rights, a massive 180 shift.
I on the other hand, prefer punk moby.
even Moby can't ruin a fantastic song.
He did his best -- certainly the misheard lyrics are pretty unspeakable.
Old Spice/organdonor crossover?
mlkia!
Oorverdovend
After animal rights, he knew, never ever will be a better one, and decided at this point , Only make shit. And then
The next one more shitty as before,..and still doi g

Is he trying to be Michael Stipe??
he's playing the middle 8 all wrong, it's C#m to Bsus2. DOH!
Crappy version of a masterpiece.
Get that duct tape off that guitar
He Looks so creepy.... the cover is good though
@klmjhgfdsq Really? This is one of the few songs of his I don't like.
the song is stollen but good version
Jim B, This song is a German Christmas cake?
Great music ... too bad he's a left wing nutcase.
You mean bad thing he's a decent human being?!
But don't worry apart from the vegan thing he isn't really, there's enough business asshole in him ; )
