I was worried about replacing my high-end older oasis with this one ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCgPI5O2AtmcHq9SJhgsCGbpAzJAJfrJp but it is surprisingly light and the screen resolution is just as good. I never had the warm light on my old kindle, but i do not use it on the ipad so I will probably not need it. I think the only thing I'll miss is the self-adjusting light, but this is so worth it!
Andrew Tucker why? I am (occasionaly) reading on an Ipad and considering buying a Kindle. Not sure wich model. But cannot find a reason atm to change from Ipad to kindle. Thanks!
In a world where your 300 dollar phone comes with more power than your 3 years computer, this is a brick. There must have a reason to justify the selling price but we do not know it. I understand hard core readers needs this but why is it this much expensive. I would buy a Nokia 3310 for that price as a piece of history but this thing....
Still rocking my Paperwhite and I love it. Could never read for long periods of time on a tablet or phone display. Starts to hurt your eyes after a while. I've been tempted occasionally by the Oasis, but in the end can never justify the price.
I got mine as a VERY nice gift last year, it's the only way I would have gotten it to be honest. My Paperwhite worked (and still works...) just fine...but this one IS better, no doubt.
Yep. Me too. Still got my paperwhite kindle and very happy with it. This new one does look nice but looks a bit too big and not as pocketable. Also that price! 😟
I needed to replace my (launch day) paper white 1 the other month, and I figured this Oasis was finally an upgrade worth doing - so I treated myself to it instead of a PW 3. No regrets.
It's just what you do with it. I bought a new Samsung phone because I scratched my old one so badly by carrying it in same pocket with a knife by a mistake. And it's faster but that is the only benefit I got from it, I don't even look for new apps and all "cool" stuff it can do. It is all what can you do with it, don't let it control you.
Thanks again for reviewing a device that people keep telling us has no future. And it was clear - you get it. "No notifications... just books." (And so much easier on the eyes.) The other major reason for this e-reader - the display size. It isn't a postage stamp.
@Ieat utube "There's not a market for color e-ink readers" is not entirely correct. But colored e-ink technology is still quite expensive to implement at this stage, in a device that is substantially larger than a smartwatch. Those new-fangled innovations in LCD screens, by the by, would likely be even more expensive to implement than that. A market is only viable if the product is affordable to produce and to purchase. The other issue is the processor--another element of the total price of the device. Kindle processors are quite slow, which is fine if all you're doing is displaying text. As highlighted here, though, it hinders the device when it's trying to display PDF files. There are only a few reasons you'd want a color display on an e-reader, and one of them is comics and magazines, and other color-intensive publications like, say, tabletop RPG rulebooks and books with color illustrations. Those are another thing that would require a better processor to go with the color display. So this, too, would increase production costs. So, there is a market for color e-ink readers. There just isn't one that's sustainable. Yet. - Lewis

I've said this so many times on your videos still can't stop myself from saying it again . You are my favourite reviewer .
With smartphones everywhere, that's the only reason for an e-book reader. But if you're more of a casual reader, probably a paperback is a better use of money.
I got the latest Kindle Oasis for Christmas, and while it probably is more expensive than it should be, I have to say, I love that thing. The one-handed bezel/button design is brilliant, the 7-inch E-ink display is nice, and while a tablet can certainly do many more things, I think what I needed for the sake of my mental health was something that lacks all the distractions of your smartphone and really is just a book reader. (While the E-ink Kindle does have a web browser, it's bare-bones enough that there's little temptation to get sucked into social media--it's there if you need a basic web browser in a pinch; a friend pointed out to me that you often need to have one for such things as connecting to hotel wi-fi.) The utterly seamless integration with the Amazon e-book store is what you might call an attractive nuisance. I love the dictionary (and Wikipedia) integration too, and the fact that you get free downloads of something like 40 dictionaries of various languages. Based on my experience of this device, I think I'd say that where E-ink really shines is reading in daytime or bright light, especially if it's bright enough that you don't need to use the light at all--the experience is just unparalleled there (in *direct* sunlight the display may actually be more readable than a paper book), and it's a situation where most modern displays struggle. For reading at night, the excellent front light system (which, in the 2020 model, now DOES have an adjustable color temperature) makes it still a decent experience. But OLEDs probably do have them beat under dark conditions, apart from power consumption--the contrast and black level of a front-lit E-ink display aren't quite as good. The Oasis does have a light-on-dark mode, but E-ink displays really aren't made for that, whereas OLEDs are in their element there.
I have one of the latest Oasis and I also had the original, smaller one. I love this thing. It's so much better to read from than a book because you don't have to worry about the binding getting in the way, and you don't have to deal with the glare of a tablet's screen becasue of the e-ink.
I still have and use the first kindle. It's really basic but there are times when as you say, when you read you want to be left alone. Plus I can order books from anywhere and I can read forever in sunlight. Ah, makes me want to go to the beach.
Great review, as always. The ONLY reason I would get this over the regular Paperwhite (which was given to me as a gift a few years ago) would be the option to reverse the black letters on white background scheme. I would really like to have that when I am reading on my bed at night before going to sleep (low brightness helps, but it's not the same). Otherwise, Paperwhite has a smaller screen and is not waterproof, but that hasn't stopped me from using it extensively. And YES, reading books on it is a whole new experience and much better than a tablet - it's immensely eye-friendly, with a battery that takes at least a week or two to die under heavy use, and not to mention practical with the ability to get gazillions of free books (if you know where to look).
Felt like more of a general Kindle review than an Oasis-specific one, but it still had some good points. I love my Voyage, though...too bad they discontinued it.
Everything about kindle oasis is good to me except for the battery life. My old kindle paper white can last for months without charging if I happened not to use it for that period of time. But I have to watch kindle oasis battery goes low super fast that actually makes me anxious. So I have the habit of putting oasis in airplane mode when i am reading. I turn on the wifi only when I need to buy more book. Sometimes i miss my kindle paper white but I also love the big screen and buttons to turn page.
I'm still using my Kindle 4 specifically because it has page buttons. I often wish it had a backlit screen for night time reading but I don't want touchscreen page turns. The Oasis shape and screen size is tempting the price turns me off. Maybe if Amazon has a good sale price I'll get one. Until then I'm happy with my old 4.
People often can't understand why you would have multiple devices when you could just have everything on your phone. But not everything should be dominated by convenience. I still use my Zune for example to listen to podcasts and music. Sure, I have to plug it in to sync, but that's incredibly easy and the experience of using a Zune over a phone for audio is so much better thanks to the immediacy of it (don't have to open an app just to get to the music or podcasts) and the hardware buttons designed for navigating audio. And then cameras for instance. Yes, a phone is good for all the times when you don't want to carry around a separate camera, but optical zoom is virtually non-existent in phones and digital zoom just isn't the same, not to mention a good dedicated camera will beat the best phone camera in almost any circumstance.
I am surprised that Amazon took out the ever so important paper texture that used to exist over the screen and nobody seemed to care! It didn't change the appearance but the fact that you felt you were touching paper when switching pages, wow. That was sweet!
Well, I finally decided to get one of these and, honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. The aluminum feels cold, hard, and slippery. The asymmetrical design helps, but the edge kinda digs into my palm. I can't help but wish it were some type of rubber or something. I was surprised that the battery life is just bad for an e-reader. My first e-reader was the Nook Simple Touch, followed by a Kobo Aura One, a Kindle Paperwhite 3, and finally a Kindle Oasis 2. Right away I noticed how fast the battery drains in comparison to my other devices. What I do really like is the buttons. They're in the perfect spot and have just the right amount of click. They're fantastic! If the device were a bit cheaper I wouldn't mind, but at this price it should at least have great battery life. I know that the feel is subjective and many people seem to like it. I think I'm going to stick with the KA1 as my main reader and PW3 as my pocket reader. Maybe I'll try the Kobo Forma.
You should review the Oynx Boox Max2. It's a 13.3 inch e-ink Android 6 Tablet. Perfect size for reading pdfs. It can read almost anything, and the Android Kindle app works great on it. It can also be a a second monitor. They also make a 10.3 note plus.
You forgot to mention if it is good to pick up women. The girl probably thinks I am smart if she sees me with one. It is easier than actually being smart, what is unreachable for me.
I never thought I would ever give up reading a "real book" until the power went out for several days and I had finished my current library read. I got a "book' to read until the power came back on and my WiFi was up and running again. Did not like having to hold a book again. When I was reading "Grant", the weight of my PW never changed, and I didn't have to hold a two pound book and keep the pages open. Strange after reading books for 70 years.
I read mostly while commuting and I have my Kindle for convenience. You can lug around 300-400 page book but thicker are really annoying and heavy. At home, I don't mind too much, and I am a bit of book nerd, so physical book is also collector's item for me. Some books I own in 3 or 4 copies (one on Kindle, one hardback for shelf, one paperback for reading, and when translation is good, one in my mother language), and as translator, I sometimes use Kindle as display for original text I am translating. I am still old-fashioned (Your e-reader will be dead or useless after 10 years but physical book, if stored correctly, will last you decades. My family Bible from 1914 is great example of that) but convenience of just finding a book, downloading it and start reading it in minutes is great.
I just can't believe they still haven't advanced e-ink to a point where it doesn't have that irritating flashing when changing the screen. It's hardly improved since the Kindle 2. And where's that color e-ink that was supposed to come?
Color e-ink exists but for some reason it's having trouble penetrating the market. You just reminded me of a Pocketnow video I did back in the day: ruclips.net/video/6NRT8E5-reM/видео.html
MrMobile [Michael Fisher] oh, I remember watching that video a few years ago! And after doing a bit of research, there were a few different e-readers in 2013 that used the color e-ink "Triton" displays, but they didn't catch on. I'm wondering if it's partially due to the relatively low effective resolution of 800x600. But still, you'd think with 5 years of advancements they'd have it down by now.
Color e-ink never panned out market wise. That said, eink has absolutely advanced tons since it came out. The resolution is now at 300ppi or greater and the "annoying flash" doesn't occur for every screen change anymore. Eink screens are now at a point where the grey scale is equal to the grey scale of paper, and the resolution is just as good as paper generally is as well.
Sam T you can set it to refresh with every page turn in the options, but by default it only flashes every 10-15 page turns or so. Refreshing on every turn is supposed to give you the very best contrast, but I haven't noticed any differences when leaving it on default. And in truth, I'm so used to e-readers at this point I don't even notice the flash anymore.
I got an iPad pro 10.5... Got all the ebooks on it? This oasis looks interesting.. Does anyone recommends to shift on this or not? Ipad or any other android device gives much more facilities? Worth spending? Apart from the distractions in the other tablets...
I just ordered oasis 3 yesterday i have ipad pro and i am type of person who reads without taking breaks i had somemuch eye fatigue with ipad that i cant focous anymore i will try this device and will see
I'm still enjoying my Kindle with the physical Keyboard. The E-Ink is still like perfectly printed paper and it's easy on the eyes too! I'll have to double check on the battery, as it's been a while since I got it. With no physical keyboard around, that paperwhite version looks like a great option, but at least the Oasis has some good physical features as well. Thanks for the review as always!
I used to read on my kindle app on my iPad and phone but my eyes started hurting because the brightness doesn’t lower too much. Yes the oasis is overpriced but having a kindle in general had helped my eyes out so much. For that alone having a kindle (any kindle in your budget) is worth it. Especially if you read long books like I do.
The massive Amazon logo on the back ruins the look in my opinion, if they went for a much more subtle branding where it says Amazon or Oasis, I think it would look better.
Had to pause and read those Calvin and Hobbes pages with a huge smile on my face. I'd forgotten how fantastic they were. I'm gonna go down to the library and have another go tomorrow. Thanks, Michael
3:15 In my opinion, Likebook and BOOX handle PDFs better than Kindle, plus, they can still read content from services like Kindle and OverDrive through their respective tablet apps! 3:45 That problem only exists on the iOS version, not the Android version.
Calvin & Hobbes.....sigh.....I miss Bill Waterson's perfect view on life.... Anyway, great reader, but not too durable, I'm on my third return, just doesn't seem to have a good quality screen. On the good side, I'm not paying anything for those returns, so at least there's that. Also, despite the less than durable screen (it simply stops working on me despite gentle handling), I STILL love it, it's just a near perfect reader to me. Great review as always, Michael!
For just about every product I've ever looked up, I always see one guy in the comments who's had to get about 5 replacement devices. I'm always baffled that someone can have such bad luck. Have you tried keeping a mandrake root in a bowl of milk under your bed?
I actually have pretty good luck with my electronic devices, the screen issue on the Oasis is fairly common, just look at the reviews on Amazon for that fact...but then, that might be too easy, eh?
I recently picked up a Kindle Voyage and love it! I was really on the fence between it and the Oasis but I think I made the right decision. I'd love to see a review of it and get your thoughts.
@@NetvoTV I guess is not good for comics, neither magazien, its perfect for books, you can check some other videos how people test the comics in a kindle
Have a paperwhite for a couple of years now. The best thing about it imo is the cover that opens just like a real book. It turns the kindle on when I open it and off when I close it. Also, its like an american express card in that I never leave home without it. :)
Picked up a basic kindle that was on an Amazon sale for $50. It’s amazing and I’m actually reading again. I am thinking of upgrading to an oasis because the basic kindle is kind of fuzzy at times and I want that larger screen
Love my Oasis! Yes, it’s more of a luxury item. Paper white is great too. Oasis is a bit bigger (I’ll be first in line for an 8 inch) and very comfortable to hold, once you get used to it. Yes, I have an iPad and a phone. But I read twice as much (no irritating notifications and I don’t get sidetracked with other apps) and it’s so much easier on my eyes. Loved the review.
Thanks for taking the time to make a video as potentially boring as an e-reader review visually engaging and vibrant (well-written and informative are a given). As I’ve said before in this space: I’d watch you review a bagel.
The new kindle oasis has an aluminum case, a glass durable display and is waterproof. It is inevitable to cost more than the other plastic models. I have the older kindle 4th generation with no backlight and the Kindle Voyage. The Kindle Voyage is superior but to be honest I don't see any important difference with adequate room light. Electronic ink is by far more relaxing to the eyes after many hours of reading. I have tested that many many times. For e-book lovers the electronic ink is the only way for easy reading. For those who don't spend more than two hours per day in front of a conventional display the iPad or even an iPhone are good enough. No reason to spend more money.
Nearly every Kindle, with the exception of the Oasis model, has been out of stock on Amazon India since March 2024. Strangely, there's been no news coverage or announcements regarding this situation. is it possible that Kindles are being phased out of the Indian market? Could you please investigate further and provide any relevant updates or news on this matter?
You can read them, sure, but all color will be turned black and white. E-ink at the moment is tech that does not support color, so it displays them in greyscale.
One thing the Oasis doesn’t do is text to speech like my 2nd Gen Kindle and the the apps for iPad , phone, and PC can do. This isn’t an Accessory feature but a native text to speech that can be adjust with various voices and speeds. Amazon removed the feature a few years ago to push people to buy Audibles which can be expensive. Also, Audibles can be adjusted like a true text to speech feature. For the price, it should have it. My 2009 2nd Gen still connects to Amazon without WiFi but the battery charge was fading so I go a used Paperwhite for $50. Works like new and looks it.
A MASSIVE FAIL, the top of the range Kindle Oasis (32 Gb) doesn't even have a sleep timer. I only bought the 32 version so I could go to sleep listening to my audiobooks on a bluetooth ear bud. Guess what? No timer so it plays and plays totally wasting the battery for no good purpose. Does it say ANYWHERE in the advertising or reviews - THERE IS NO TIMER? Well I've not seen it in writing or on any review. So be aware.
Hi. I have kindle oasis 10th generation for about 6 months. I bought it on amazon.de. I've charged it 5-6 times since then. I used to use it rarely. For about one month I use it 3-5 hours almost every day. I use genuine Amazon wall charger. I use it in airplane mode, lights off mostly. The battery lasts about 10 days. Is it acceptable? My second question is it get charged till %97 not %100 even I leave it plugged in for hours. Is it acceptable?
So, will the LTE connection work outside of the US? I saw that you mentioned a few books were downloaded overseas so could it be possible it works for several years overseas? I don't live in a country where you get Amazon products directly; but the 4g connection is very appealing to me.... I would pay $70 more if it worked outside of the purchasing country, for sure.
I own a Kindle Paperwhite 2 (because Paperwhite 1 doesn't have a backlight) and this thing is completely pointless. My battery is still 3-5 weeks I can read any book that this Kindle can read When will they stop? There hasn't been a significant breakthrough, no point in releasing new stuff...
MrMobile, I own the 8GB Variant. 1. Poor centre of gravity. Seems heavy on hand. 2. Display is not fantastic, stupid thing to say if you're coming from a Paper-white 3. Not worth the price. 4. Somehow I am missing the more blue of Paper-white Verdict - After 2 and a half books, Im gonna keep trying to Get used to it better. Overall, 2.5 stars on 5.0
I like the Kindles - they offer good value for the money, but the screens are just too damn small. I don't understand why Amazon so resolutely resists making one with a decent size screen (8 in diagonal or more). I would gladly pay for it. As it is, they should include a magnifying glass with each Kindle.
Ya know, the $249 entry price isn't that hard of a swallow when you consider the first generation Kindle was $399 at launch. Besides, you can get it for about $50 per month if you're so inclined. This thing is worth it.
for all. dont be confused about the Battery drain after copy books from Calibre to the Kindle. the Kindle analytics all books. u can search phrases over search for every single book. After analytics the Battery is great. if u want to know the state of analytic status, search "ISBN". the found Words show u the state.
Still rocking my kindle fire and I use the free calibre program to manage my 60,000+ ebooks so I don't have a big issue with storage space on my kindle or books disappearing from my amazon account for any weird reason. Don't know that the pros overweigh the price on this iteration to motivate me to upgrade when my kindle fire still works just fine. Maybe when my kindle fire dies but not before.
I have been using my current kindle paperwhite since 2013. While it has been reliable up until now, in recent weeks the battery charge has not been lasting and sometimes does not fully charge. The screen is also flickering. I have restarted the kindle several times and been able to fully charge the battery. However after listening to your review I am seriously considering buying the 2018 model. It looks like there are very few changes which is good in some respects as I don't have to learn all the new features. For some reason we are unable to buy kindle batteries in NZ. They have to be ordered from overseas and can take 2-4 weeks for delivery. There is also the issue of it being a lithium battery that the NZ postal service does not allow to be delivered in our country. I hear what you are saying about buying a refurbished model but again how long will it last.
I really don't see the incentive to upgrade from paperwhite to Oasis. Especially at this price point. Sure there are few improvements like button placement and landscape mode or the fact that it can rotate the screen if you flip the device. But to pay 349 dollars for those conveniences....I don't think so :D
I have a Kindle Oasis 1. The bump was originally for a Battery Cover, that makes the thickness even across the device. For some reason, they've stopped selling those. I do wonder if that means mine is going to burst into flames after a certain number of charges...
IPad's dont have e ink. So they don't compare to good e reader. Although they are starting to make color and foldable e ink tablets. But that's not close to ready for mass consumption. Still, paperwhite has sale ppi so Oasis is a luxury
The popular notion is that if you have enough money for something like the Kindle Oasis you probably already own an iPad with the Kindle app on it - this is Stupid, why is this notion popular ? If i had a million bucks still i would get a dedicated e-reader for reading. A tablet screen and e-ink display are so much different. E-ink display of e-reader is very convenient for reading and whole experience is almost like reading a book.
All this time, I assumed Mr. Mobile had millions of subscribers simply because the quality was so good. Also, a suggestion, you could work on a more simplified script that presents your views crystal clear.
2:04 I assume the 'next page' button is on top because it is where your thumb will naturally rest when holding the kindle in one hand. The 'next page' button will be more commonly used than the 'previous page' button, therefore it is more convenient to be able to select next page without having to move your thumb to the button below 🤷♂️ You demonstrate this at 2:07, when you go to select the bottom button you have to bend your thumb as opposed to leaving your thumb in it's natural resting position. I might be wrong though......although I very rarely am 😏😛
Thanks for the great and useful review. I keep going back and forth on the Oasis. I have the Paperwhite and love it, swear by e-ink for distraction-free reading.
Big difference between an iPad and an ereader. A tablet is backlit and and projects blue light. It also is VERY difficult to read in direct sunlight. ereaders do not suffer from glare. Also they are front lit and do not have blue light. I have an Oasis and love it. Make sure you have the wifi off if not using it. If something ever happens to it, I will get a Papetwhite. The Paperwhite is still superior to a backlit device which is useless in sunlight. Also if you are prone to marathon reading, ereaders are often lighter than tablets. If you are an active bibliophile get an ereader.
This thing is too expensive LOL Why get this when paperwhite is always the same shit and it always discounted 24/7 LOL. With this in mind its almost 300$ of diff LOL.

Way too expensive for something that only reads books and is useless for magazines, PDFs, anything with illustrations or diagrams or big tables.

My 5 years old Kindle Paperwhite 2 still serves me well to this day
Raziah Aysam i ordered paperwhite i cannot wait it arrives by monday
Still sporting my Voyage
I'm still using Prestigio PER5162 I bought in 2012
Tytus de Zoo still using the kindle 3 from 2010 :P
i still use my kindle touch one I got a decade ago lol
I just ADORE e-readers. So much comfort.
(While the E-ink Kindle does have a web browser, it's bare-bones enough that there's little temptation to get sucked into social media--it's there if you need a basic web browser in a pinch; a friend pointed out to me that you often need to have one for such things as connecting to hotel wi-fi.)
The utterly seamless integration with the Amazon e-book store is what you might call an attractive nuisance.
And YES, reading books on it is a whole new experience and much better than a tablet - it's immensely eye-friendly, with a battery that takes at least a week or two to die under heavy use, and not to mention practical with the ability to get gazillions of free books (if you know where to look).
bloodySunday77 and where do you look?;)
Great review! I'm a proud owner of a Kindle Paperwhite and it's still my go-to reader: Fair price pont and NO DISTRACTIONS.
2019 version of paper white entry level is now water resistant.
You should always turn airplane mode except when you're actually downloading stuff.
Felt like more of a general Kindle review than an Oasis-specific one, but it still had some good points. I love my Voyage, though...too bad they discontinued it.
Paperwhite also has waterproofing, 2018/2019 version
I'd pay $500 for this, and that doesn't make me happy. Sadly, books give you super powers, and consumption methods is so important.
Are all kindles only black and white?
Why are E-ink displays Still so slow?
That single colour temp observation... priceless. Thanks Michael.
And in today's models, they've granted his wish!
Good to see mr Mobile is a Calvin and Hobbs fan. Only the best people love C and H :)
Was surprised to see city i live in at 5:01!
From Saint-Petersburg, Russia with love! :)
I Believe the Battery is Supposed to be working for over a month,
if yours is less then it could a malfunction and you should Contact Amazon about
Do you expect a new Oasis this year? I just ordered my for $125 with trade in.
Pretty crafty idea for a guy who claims to not be smart. :-)
Yup! And they say we're set in our ways. :-)
Devon Slating
The annoying flash doesn't happen? What are you talking about? It's visible every time the page is changed in this video.
Mr Mobile> That's one of the great things about a dedicated device for reading.... just books
Me: finally! someone said it
This review is surprisingly good and helpful. Never thought I'd be impressed by a review. Keep up the good work
A pop button stuck on the back of a kindle solves the issue of holding any e-reader, just saying...
I got an iPad pro 10.5... Got all the ebooks on it? This oasis looks interesting.. Does anyone recommends to shift on this or not? Ipad or any other android device gives much more facilities? Worth spending? Apart from the distractions in the other tablets...
I just ordered oasis 3 yesterday i have ipad pro and i am type of person who reads without taking breaks i had somemuch eye fatigue with ipad that i cant focous anymore i will try this device and will see
Ok please do tell about your experience
I'm still enjoying my Kindle with the physical Keyboard. The E-Ink is still like perfectly printed paper and it's easy on the eyes too! I'll have to double check on the battery, as it's been a while since I got it. With no physical keyboard around, that paperwhite version looks like a great option, but at least the Oasis has some good physical features as well. Thanks for the review as always!
Still reading on my graphite DX. The keyboard is perfect for big fingers. Would love to see a newer version of DX.
I missed the other feature, audiobooks which was a big part of my purchase...
The massive Amazon logo on the back ruins the look in my opinion, if they went for a much more subtle branding where it says Amazon or Oasis, I think it would look better.
That was my first thought too.
I'm very excited! My Kindle Oasis should arrive this Saturday and can't wait to start using it!!
That connection you made between "overseas and water resistance" is another example of you being a very good writer.
Hey thanks for the real-world feedback!
Michael Livote amazon reviews are garbage, you know that.
I'm scared to get one. If mine would have some issues with the screen. I'd be screwed up. No return option buying from Peru.
Hey Michael. Would be great to see your review of the new Oasis. Cheers!
I recently picked up a Kindle Voyage and love it! I was really on the fence between it and the Oasis but I think I made the right decision. I'd love to see a review of it and get your thoughts.
I was about to buy Oasis, but I bought Paperwhite, very confortable and was a good choise 😆
I LOVE my paper white. Small, simple, great battery life. I don't miss buttons at all.
PartyUpLive is it too small for magazine or comic?
Is it a good device for students? Can I get my college text books on it?
I'd recommend a Kobo or a Boox for college textbooks, I'm a student and I adore my Boox! Have a good day :-)
I love my two oases. I have the 2019 and previous gen. Battery sucks so i read KOBO mostly or B&N Nook.
I am a simple man. I see Calvin and Hobbes and I click like.
2:42 made me laugh. Something about the quick edit of you looking up mixed with the stuttering over your words.
Beacon 23 by Hugh Howie is fantastic!
Thanks for taking the time to make a video as potentially boring as an e-reader review visually engaging and vibrant (well-written and informative are a given). As I’ve said before in this space: I’d watch you review a bagel.
Hey mate, what camera do you use? Has great quality
I like to buy an oasis. But for my budget only basic kindle is good. Even paperwhite don't have enough value for money over basic one
Bullish!t keep your money
Many thanks. The Kindle default Home Screen was seriously annoying. All good now!
Two hours a day of eye strain is not okay.
Is it just me that I feel like the design reminds me of Huawei's Mate Xs foldable phone?
Mrmobile, please review the fire hd tablets also. Thanks for the kindle oasis review as well.
Hell yea.... Was just getting bored... Thanks for the upload
Can we read books with colour pages on kindle
You can read them, sure, but all color will be turned black and white. E-ink at the moment is tech that does not support color, so it displays them in greyscale.
Can you list some of your favorite books that you read when going for a trip? I prefer Fiction mainly, but others will do as well :)
Reading stuff on tablets/smartphones is quite stressful to the eyes. Been using Paperwhite from last couple of years now and its awesome!
The new paperwhite is much better than this poor ereader
Great review as always. I sprung for a Paperwhite. Price was the reason.
How many gb your oasis is ? Thinking which one to choose ... How many books I can download on 8gb
As I understand it includes all the library from Amazon, so maybe not as expensive as it looks.
Great review, liked
So, will the LTE connection work outside of the US? I saw that you mentioned a few books were downloaded overseas so could it be possible it works for several years overseas? I don't live in a country where you get Amazon products directly; but the 4g connection is very appealing to me.... I would pay $70 more if it worked outside of the purchasing country, for sure.
I own a Kindle Paperwhite 2 (because Paperwhite 1 doesn't have a backlight) and this thing is completely pointless.
My battery is still 3-5 weeks
I can read any book that this Kindle can read
When will they stop? There hasn't been a significant breakthrough, no point in releasing new stuff...
MrMobile, I own the 8GB Variant.
1. Poor centre of gravity. Seems heavy on hand.
2. Display is not fantastic, stupid thing to say if you're coming from a Paper-white
3. Not worth the price.
4. Somehow I am missing the more blue of Paper-white
Verdict - After 2 and a half books, Im gonna keep trying to Get used to it better.
I still don’t understand the Oasis, it has marginally more features than the paperwhite at 2x the price. For what? A bigger display and LTE? Pass
After buying the Paperwhite 2018 this one seems pointless 🤔🤔
The 'next page' button will be more commonly used than the 'previous page' button, therefore it is more convenient to be able to select next page without having to move your thumb to the button below 🤷♂️
You demonstrate this at 2:07, when you go to select the bottom button you have to bend your thumb as opposed to leaving your thumb in it's natural resting position.
