Just some pointers. One: any new version of this gun will have all the same screws. Two: the new ones have a small air hole in the barrel. Cover it with electrical tape and make the seal air tight. Three: there is a screw at the back of the orange plunger. Unscrew this and remove the plug. Take a roll of electrical tape and neatly wrap tape around the plug. This will add weight and back force to it, giving you a few feet. All this plus the video and now I get 45+ feet. Kinda killer for a lil gu

@LordDraconical In spring-fired systems like Nerf guns, a longer barrel doesn't always improve performance Unlike gunpowder, once that spring stops, no more energy is imparted upon the dart. Since there's no expansion to push the dart along, a longer barrel can sometimes increase friction with the dart and impede range. It's finding that happy medium that's tricky
@firebreathing16 Im not sure yet, I have some copper piping to work with, youll see it turn up soon when I work on my scifi blaster mod. The chibi one is coming over for a few days though so I wont have as many videos for a bit

@legomaker12345678 because with the air restritor removed there's nothing to keep pressure in the chamber which would dampen the shock when the plunger closes suddenly
@superasianboi123 u can get a long Phillips head screwdriver and put it in the back of the air restrictor and hammer it hard until the screwdriver goes through that's what I did and it works great. P.S. It is a lot louder than before.
Just a note, the plunger assembly is similiar to a Strikefire (A slightly older Dart Tag line pistol), and what I did to mod my Strikefire, considering I do not have a drill, was to insert a small screw driver into the back of the plunger, and use a hammer to knock the AR right out, its great, because it falls out perfectly clean!
@sanosukeX2 They are small screws, but a basic well stocked tool kit should have a screwdriver that fits them, if not, id buy a micro screwdriver kit (theyre cheap and great for technology fixes and mods). I think everyone should own a decent set of tools, its your right as an entity with thumbs

if your having trouble finding a reflex in adelaide i found one at target. cause i had alot of trouble finding a reflex. the only place i could go was the other end of town but then i found one at target
@Blurgas Im aware of this, but when you improve the power, to maintain the accuracy, you must increase the distance the projectile travels guided before exiting. It is basic projectile physics. I'm not a fool, I wouldnt put a foot long barrel onto it, but it does need another few inches now for optimum distance with accuracy. Good comment though, thank you.
Why not use a dremel on the grip and plumbers epoxy a nf pistol grip on it? I like this blaster because its the closest nerf weapon to a real gun and it is pretty cool for wars
@Hanz79692 Did you try to remove Air Restrictors ? I did, and had the same problem later, and I put the ring things you put back in from the air restrictor back in backwards and wouldn't fire at all. I fixed it and it's better than stock for sure.
@legomaker12345678 It could work for short while. the padding will wear out after a short while also chances are the padding will block the shaft either negating the a/r mod or making it worse
AgileCoast 1 Actually, a better blaster for this would be the Jolt,Triad, (maybe) the mega dart version of that type of blaster. this is because of how they are primed, with the jolt types' bottom kind vs. the top slide on this.
No i was think more along the line of mounting it to the bottom of like a long strike or any rifle style blaster. it would be like a 2 in 1 because you get a fore grip and you just push it forward to prime and fire. that would give you a extra shot.

Just did these mods, and they work wonders for my "DOOMFLEX" IX-1. Can't wait to do a range test!

They work well, an easy 10-15 extra feet and plenty more power. I did these mods on an Elite Reflex.

yeah, I totally agree. The reflex from my last HvZ tournament is now modded. It makes a loud clap when i fire a dart. I already padded the plunger.
It works great! it was worth the drill, mine shot 91 feet far!

i got two of these and i put two springs together and it gets way more powerful and longer ranges
i always thought you use the key ring to hold an extra dart

maybe try integrating the reflex in to the bottom rail on the recon nose to have a mini fore grip with a bullet.

No, the air restrictor makes the air escape slower. It decreases the range if you don't.

Tommy Does Nerf Well, the double spring makes it more powerful. Remove the air restrictors and it will be even more powerful.

After you mod the reflex, when you fire it without a dart in it, does the insides of the blaster get damaged??
There is a risk of damaging the internals when you dry fire it without the ar

Jolt shoots farther and not a reverse plunger.Mine shoots 60ft with Industrial spring and cpvc barrel.
