Disabled people forced to live off $900 mth is cruel.

My question is how many people pay into social security and die before they can claim social security.
SSA is also a survivor and disability program too. So those people were potentially covered their entire lives.
Alabama State said I could not get “extra help” with copays, etc because I’m a Veteran.bi should DEPEND 100% on my crappy VA. No thanks. I avoid the VA like the plague. I won my case.

Hey! MR Ed Weir, What do mean by the statement you made have filed wrong - instead of filing for Widows Benefits you should applied for Survior Benifts ! Are they not" One in the Same "?
Yes, those are the same. I probably meant to say: widows/survivor benefits vs. spousal benefits. Spousal can also be from a living spouse or ex-spouse.
I am applying for widow's benefits. I already have a phone appointment set up. I have tried for disability but was denied so I need to get an income coming in. Can I still appeal the disability decision while getting widow's benefits?
It depends on your insured status and you're currently insured status, but if that's okay. You should be okay to file for disability
Interesting, exactly what area were you an insider and/ or manager at SSA?
I ran the 3rd busiest SSA office in the country.

Can I apply for spousal benefits if my spouse has not yet applied for SS? He will in early 2025 at full benefit level. We are separated, I am already on SS, but mine is very low and his will be 3X mine.
No, you have to wait until he applies because it sounds like you're still married.
