    I think it's important to include what you use the truck for. If you are serious about off-roading, stay away from bracket lifts. If off-roading is not why you want a lift, shoot for the 12" moon! I'm not talking about the occasional hunting trip and I'm not talking the extreme off-roading either. I see videos like these and I wish they would go into the real reason for asking whatever question is in the title. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a bracket lift, nothing at all. But people think you must do a bracket lift to run 35's or even 37's on a Tundra. Nothing could be further from the truth. For those sizes you do need to do a body mount chop, invest in wheels with offsets from 25+ thru 0 offset, and minor trimming and adjustment of the front bumper if you don't already have an aftermarket bumper, the OEM bumper can be reset to be pushed out an inch for tire clearance. The owner of this channel eventually made it clear he just likes tall trucks, awesome! Again nothing wrong with that. But for people trying to distinguish between what kind of lift to get because they just want a taller truck or they want to build an off-road rig, it gets hard when the distinction isn't clearly made in the video. It would have been better if the title read, "Coilover or 6-Inch Bracket Lift - What's the Right Choice IF YOU JUST WANT A TALL TRUCK and BIGGER TIRES?"

    I have a very specific question I was wondering if you can answer:
    On a 2020 Toyota Tundra Double Cab SR5 4x4 with a Bilstein 6112 set on the 3rd notch for 1.9".... do you think it will clear a 275/60R20 on a 20x9 with 0mm offset?

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  2 года назад +1

      Yes, it will clear the 275’s.. i had a good friend just install the 1.9”bilstein and try and run a 295, and it did NOT work.. but a 275 will work! lemme know how it turns out! 👍🏼

    • @jeremiahstallings3349
      @jeremiahstallings3349 2 года назад

      @@toyotafanatics1 I'm not too concerned with the 275/60R20 as much because I know if I went with a +20mm for example, I'd definitely be good. The problem is I couldn't find a wheel without a negative offset I liked except for like a "Y Spoke" wheel like the Fuel Assault. Since everyone is running a Fuel Assault (mostly +20mm or a +1mm with a bigger lift) I wanted the satisfaction of being different; so I went with a Hartes Metal Offroad Hawkish
      🔥🔥🔥 They came in Tuesday, Tires are on order, 6112's won't be here until end of January. So the 0mm is my biggest concern. I'm trying to eliminate the need for rear shackles by sticking with 1.9" up front.

    Which exact 6 inch lift kit do you recommend ? It’ll be For my 13 crew max

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  4 года назад +3

      So basically any lift is OK, just stay away from Rough Country or any of the super cheap lifts out there.. fabtech, pro comp, ready lift are great options.. but ultimately the BDS is a fantastic lift, i’d probably just go with that!

  • @a.k.vollmer5200
    @a.k.vollmer5200 4 года назад +2

    Why are you so sure that BDS will have a 7” lift for the brand new 2021 Tundra? It could take awhile for aftermarket to catch up.

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  4 года назад +1

      You are definitely correct, i was just being hopeful.. But we do know that that 2021 Tundra is going to have a GIANT demand market and I know if BDS has a kit, it will probably be flying off the shelves.. only time will tell..
      i’m really looking forward to the new tundra..
      The word on the street is that there will be no V8 option and will come with a twin turbo V6. What do you think of that rumor?

    Quick question: I just got a 6" RC kit on my '19 tundra. I love it but there's a slight drift while driving, especially on the highways and steering goes towards any change on the road. Is there anything that'll stabilize the steering or improve ride quality?

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  4 года назад +1

      The only thing you can really do for the steering is to replace the steering rack bushing with urethane ones, they make full kits. But maybe a TRD front and/or rear sway bar could tighten things up, and also maybe replacing the shocks with some high quality fox or other brand reservoir units could greatly improve ride quality..

    Why not doing the BMC so you can be on 35" or more? the ability for adjustable coilover is that some tundras tend to sag on a side and adjusting a coilover is a matter of min. Cheers

    I hope u know by now that 2021 is the last model for the current gen and 2022 is the first year for next gen (sadly no more v8 only twin turbo v6 and electic hybrid)

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  4 года назад

      very sad about the loss of the V8, but that V6 should be impressive.. how many hp do you think it’ll be putting out??

    • @gfgneo
      @gfgneo 4 года назад

      @@toyotafanatics1 well there was a leak not that long ago talking about the hybrid and it stated that it was going to have more torque and better mpg than a supercharged tundra(probablyan electric hybrid like the rav prime to get that much torque) , hp for that maybe 420? Im guessing a little more for the twin turbo v6 with 460 lbs of torque. Still not a fan of turbos. Depending on where you live they wont last at all after 100k. And to repair twin turbos is around 15k. At that price i might as well get another truck. Biggest issue with eco boost engines is carbon build up that damages the turbos once the truck reaches high milage, and if you are going to tow regularly its a bad idea to make a smaller engine work like a bigger engine, it simply waers down the parts faster and causes too much strain. Thats why im getting the 2021 model. Its a shame because i know that the inside at least is going to get a bumch of cool new stuff, but i dont want to sacrifice reliability for it especially since i plan on keeping this truck until the engine completely dies

    I've got a 2010 with 50k on it. Bought it last year with 36k. Was thinking about the bds 6 inch bracket lift with the rough country vertex coilovers. What do you think of those? Been hearing good things

    • @toyotafanatics1
      @toyotafanatics1  3 года назад +1

      The BDS is one of the best lifts out there, and the RC Vertex coils are fine, but rough country suspension is really frowned upon in the off road community.. for nearly the same price you have plenty of other options for coilovers..

    • @jimleesur5610
      @jimleesur5610 3 года назад

      @@toyotafanatics1 I domt care whats frowned upon. For 1000$ I havemt seen another coilover that has as much as the vertex. Nothing even close. Maybe you can point me in the right direction . After looking around seems like alot of people who wheel are running the vertex.
