3" Lift - Front Coilover Suspension - Toyota Tundra | Install

- Learn how to perform a complete suspension conversion on a Toyota Tundra. BDS installs a 3" Lift Coilover Suspension System along with FOX 2.5" front coilovers with DSC remote reservoirs and FOX rear shocks. The installation process is 100% bolt-on and includes powdercoated, heavy-duty tubular upper control arms. BDS thinks of everything including remote reservoir mounts ABS wire relocation and even a differential drop to maintain proper CV joint angles.
In the rear, this 3" lift system features a heavy-duty shackle kit plus FOX 2.0 Shock Absorbers. We finished off this installation by upgrading to 17" Method Race Wheels and 35" tall Falken tires.

Well was about to pay for the install. Now doing it myself. thanks
Yes my Black Friday purchased for my tundra. Nicely done
Pretty sure I found what I want to do -- saw the Victory truck in person "Two-Hundy Tundy" and it looks awesome up close. Great video guys.
Such a detailed video. Thank You!
I would take my Tundra and have 88 rotors install it herein So Cal they have the best install videos.
This thing looks sick AF
why did u attempt to advertise the crappy ford ..we are here for the Tundra
Johny Hansen fox products are always used on fords ad they come stock in the raptor
Hahaha agree with you on that
I love my tundra but that raptor a sickest puppy out there!
@@johnnyz681 yeh if you're an old bald man...
Jake I’am non of those I won’t spend 80K on a truck unless I would have lots of $$$$$$$ spend!
Again love my tundra!
Mirror mirror who is the most beautiful truck out there?
Tundra tundra you are beautiful
But the raptor is the most beautiful!
Hahaha!
Great Video ! Love the Tundra ! Please wear safety glasses from now on Jordan.
Looks perfect!
Great workflow if you have a lift. A bit different and harder if using a jack and stands.
don't forget to also recalibrate the radar for the tss( toyota safety sense) . once you have the truck higher it will pick obstacles a lot faster. friend of mine was driving on the freeway second day after the instalation and the truck locked the brakes at 60mph because it picked up the car 300 ft away. very important for any lifted toyota after 2018
Doesn't the TSS only work while cruise control is engaged?
When you tow heavy with a stock tundra the nose points up slightly anyway and nothing happens. I doubt a leveling kit will either.
Rick , take it to the dealer they can recalibrate it in 15 min.. no biggie.
They won't freak out but they will charge you if you didn't do the work at a toyota dealer. That is why they charge 3x$$$
Plus they could void your warranty . GM voided it for me on a silverado for a 2 inch front level kit. VW voided a warranty on my car for a turbo so be prepared. Now i have a Ram diesel. F the warranties. Lol
Fanagalin my @#$, that UCA bolt was a pain...Thanks for the great video!
When are you coming out with a 3" for the Nissan Titan? The new Half ton. Pro4x. I'm not looking for fancy(like remote resevioir) just quality and to level the truck.
Since you said the 35 inch tire was a lil bigger than what yall would have chose, what size would you have chose to go along with the 17inch rims?
Love bds
I have a 3" and run 35s...just a little trimming of the plastic bumper
Would this coilover kit work on the 2019 tundra as well?
Very well done video.
When placing the front coilover onto the bottom control arm which way do you off set the shock to . The front or rear of the vehicle ? Does it matter ?
Great video thank you ! Just one comment safety first eye protection.
What size tire are you running on this new set up? What is the biggest tire you can clear with this set up? Thx
Do you guys have the specs on the method wheels? I saw that they’re a 17” but what’s the offset on them? Very clean build I look forward to getting off my stock Bilsteins
I have a question and I need your help. I have a 2016 Tundra 4WD with the 7” BDS Coilover lift with DSC and the Fox shock absorbers in the rear that are about 25” in length. Obviously I have a 4” block in the rear but I was and here is where I need your help. I’m looking for the Fox 2.5 reservoir with DSC for the rear but I want to make sure they fit. The only ones that seems that work are the Fox 883-26-006. Are these the ones I need?
Show install
But explain afterward on installation and how was the ride ?
Tundra is best ever
The victory 4x4 Tundra! Looks way different now.
😂@1:12 if you have to go just go.(bathroom)😂 but good job someone who loves what they do talk and get his hands dirty. Good video . now just waiting on the wife to give me $$$$ 😀
Most do not tell you that the FOX shocks need to be inspected/rebuilt every 30,000 miles, roughly. That is a huge pain for that price point. I think I will stick with Bilstein 6112's for my tundra. BDS needs to step up their game, charging above premium pricing for products that come in below mid-level Bilstein shocks.
Really bilstien is better then fox shocks
@@mhopkins491 it is just my opinion, I am just an average guy who goes in the woods.
Every 30k even for a pavement queen? Or do they wear out with off road usage?
@@greggorystamm5212 they wear out over time. On or off road. King shocks are the same way
But factory shocks can go 75-100k?
How much it call for the complete installation?
How’s the ride quality vs stock?
Can i get this kit on a 2019 ram rebel?
I got those Fox coilovers on my Colorado. The strut/springs are too soft for my truck and Fox was no help getting an upgrade.
Earned a like and subscribe from me 👍👍 nice work guys👏👏
Whats the wheel and tire setup on this
You said this 3 inch kit will work with high speed traveling. I’m looking at the 4.5” coil over for that year tundra. Can I do the same high speed traveling?
Use it and Abuse it Alex! Those FOX Coilovers are engineered to soak up the bumps under high speed travel, even with the 4.5" lift system we offer.
Hey sorry I know this video is 4 mos old...do you guys sell any fox kit for 2005 Tundra that’s like this 3.5” kit?
Nate what happened project sd126 is sad
Did you have to do a “body mount chop” for this setup?
You have to, I have that exact same set up in the front.
I have basically the same setup and I had a little bit of rubbing on the plastic of the bumper that’s it
Thank you for the info
Any time!
How much does a setup like this run? I have a stock 2019 Tundra and am deciding what to do with it.
About 3 grand not getting it installed.
Way to much for something that has been around since like 2015
Looks amazing! Just curious you guys installed “35” tires, they must rub inside the firewall. I have a 4 inch SST leveling kit from ready lift, with “33” tires and they just clear. So just wondering if the tires rub on a full turn? Great video!
Mario morales wheel offset needs to be known. It makes a huge difference
I ran 34" on factory black suspension. That's on the TSS rims and largest you can run with those rims. Offset is a big factor.
Pandra build?
Are the following necessary for this kit:
- Sway bar spacer
- Skid plate spacer
- Bump stop spacer
- E-brake/brake line extender brackets
Hey Jake, we include the diff drop spacers and skid plate spacers as part of this kit. The diff drop improves the CV axle operating angle and the skid plate spacer allows clearance for the diff once repositioned. Brake line brackets and e-brake brackets aren't necessary at this lift height along with the any sort of sway bar correction. We design this as a complete system with everything you'll need to lift your Tundra 3". For more info check out bds-suspension.com/product?kid=824F
I'm interested in having this exact lift done to my 2021 Tundra. Do you know if this will fit it and can you help me find a local shop to install it...?
Jim Butcher it should fit. I just ordered one from jack it but it’s the one with the 2.0 front coil overs so it’s about $500 less
What is the offset of the wheel?
Would it work in front for a sequoia ???
Do you need to get new control arms if you're installing Fox shocks?
If you're above 2" lift and gonna be off roading it hard, it's probably a good idea to. Although, it's not 100% needed to drive the truck, it's highly advised
I do have same truck... color and year👍
I will say one thing pay attention to that ABS sensor wire lol. I had to repair mine due to unforeseen circumstances.
Whats the cost for this upgrade and how's the change in the ride feel ?
What is with no saftey glasses? Must have special eye protection?
How much for the 3" kit ? And what are the wheel and tire specs ?
hey is jus what you see pal, tires are 35x 12.50 r 17
wheels no idea but you can look em up 17 inch method wheels to find offset
What's the lifespan of this BDS lift and coilover compared to OEM parts? How long is the warranty?
Our kits come with a no fine print (lifetime) warranty on the BDS hard parts to the original purchaser. Bushings have the same warranty but are a wearable item so depending on use/abuse may need to be replaced at some point way down the road. FOX product comes with a 1yr warranty and being a wearable item you'll want to follow the service schedule to keep them in top shape. FOX has a recommended service interval guide available at www.ridefox.com/service.php?m=truck
What offset did you go with on the wheels?
Following
Can you please tell me where your shop is located ?
Thank you .
Steve.
@William Thank you ! 👍😀👌
can a guy upgrade
to fox 2.5’s all four corners?
what is the offset of that method wheel, it looks very good.
0 offset according to Victory 4x4s build page for this truck
deepblu01 thanks my friend! I have been looking for some of zero offsets in a Method race wheel.
Where is your place
How much total for an upgrade including labor and materials?
Thanks sir
40k
Does Bds make a 6" lifted strut for 2007 ram 1500 4x4?
We offer a 6" strut spacer system and you can check it out here: bds-suspension.com/product?ma=2&mo=16&ty=1&yr=2006-2008
How's the ride vs stock? Softer or firmer?
i have that very same kit and the ride is firmer. not softer.
Cost?
Can I keep my stock 20” rims if I install this lift ?
Hi guys sorry this comment is on a 4 mo old vid...do you guys sell a 3.5” kit that is equivalent to this kit for a 2005 tundra. i always wanted a XS-P and finally got one after all these years and wanna look at options to get it up a little bit that don’t ruin it. i wanna do it right, but it doesn’t need to be ridiculously high-end compliments or anything. Just Quality engineering (gonna work right and not mess anything up or cause anything to wear prematurely) and quality manufacturing (gonna keep working right for a long time and not break down on us).
thanks a bunch.
Hey Zach, Sorry we do not offer a 3" Coilover option but we do have our 2.5" kit and you can see it here in the link: bds-suspension.com/product?ma=12&mo=78&ty=1&yr=2000-2006
I love that buddy how much for all of that?
Price depends on what options you go with, check out our website to build your own - bds-suspension.com/product?ma=12&mo=78&ty=1&yr=2016-2018
I liv Tundras but I need this kit for a 2021 Ram Rebel, just saying lol
don't ask questions here, you won't get a reply
Where do we ask then?
Where can we ask questions?
What are questions?
I should’ve gone with the readylift, you guys have an issue with the steering rack pinion after installing your lifts. Include new bushings or out a warning in the damn instructions.
Lol! You just installed it wrong.never have problem with steering rack.
Доступно, понятно - только без указаний на конкретный перечень оборудования. Интересно, а как у них обстоят дела с "легализацией" подобных изменений?
no loctite on strut bolts you also let the front hang on the wheel sensor wire bad deal dude
Say now, you fellas don't want to put that old skid plate back on, go get a trd pro skid plate while you're making the upgrades....
Yeah I don't think I would ever try to do all this at home. This would be one project it would be better to pay someone else to do
Weird how a 2018 tundra didnt come with stock bilstein rear shocks.
I think you have to have the TRD OffRoad package to get the bilsteins. I would like to do this with OEM rims and tires.
Shackle does not tap out that easily if at all!
This guy should really be wearing eye protection. There could be kids watching... Or worse... Osha
RabbiTrogdor my thoughts exactly. Always were eye protection, especially when using an impact wrench like that.
SWEEET
88rotor
no eye protection
Well that affect Toyota safety sense in the front end
Is this supposed to be a question?
Chriz Sea. Yes it is
How about hooking me up with a lift for my ram ill even get a bds tattoo if u do
This dude rap?
3” lift is a regret
4 over 3 inch?
First
jarvis handy this is the first time I’ve seen a “first” comment that was actually first lol
sagged
Seriously slow down the talking. You seem so in a hurry to speak for no reason focus on making a good video.
Tires are way to big,,,,, looks stupid,,, like big ass donuts
In other words go buy a ford raptor and save yourself all this trouble.
Or buy urself a pre runner and build it to ur standards
Nathan Collins after you go buy that raptor, better go look for a cardboard box to live in, no money left. 😁😂😁
...not really, you mean go buy your self a toyota and save your self from a junk raptor piece of crap transmission.lmao
i assume that the raptor wont be as reliable as the tundra. So i rather to upgrade a tundra to achieve suspension levels of the raptor and still ill be having a nice performance truck for many years.
