Yes the halo saved his life but can we also appreciate the decades of safety improvements that contributed to this miracle. Dr Sid Watkins, Sir Jackie Stewart, love or hate him but Max Mosley all played huge roles in improving F1 safety.
All were old enough to watch F1 when drivers died every few races to when a few drivers died in a season and changed that. All were in F1 long enough to loose a few close drivers and friends that they wanted to change that. This in turns trickles down to first high performance/expensive cars then eventually to normal commuter cars. In the grand scheme of things, these improvements saved millions of lives from once fatal crashes to very survivable. Crash structures, survival cell, stronger materials, better tyres,brakes, handling and to even more things like how hospitals model operating procedures after F1 pitstops which actually raised patient's survival rates by making complex operations much faster by efficiency.
Even if you hate how heavy, big, hard to overtake and the V6T (which btw is the most thermal efficient ICE ever which is amazing because they do at while making over 1000bhp) .
F1 is not just the pinaccle of motorsport but also engineering and safety.

Assuming the way the rear structure separates from the front is by design I wonder why they choose to have the fuel bladder be part of the front structure.
I know you want the fuel where it is from a weight balance perspective, but wonder if it would be possible to get the car to split so that the rear half takes the fuel with it.
