He was referring to the countries with the horrible conditions due to the leaders in them and how we are getting more criminal immigrants that hide in the mixed of the few good ones that come to into our country. He is referring to the condition and not to those good individuals that live in it or to their race. Just because you're from a shithole - and let's be completely honest about what a shithole is - doesn't mean that you can't rise up from it as an individual or a community. I hear Harlem has been making a lot of improvements since the 1980's in terms of structure, for example. Ben Carson, Clarence Thomas, Michelle Obama, etc. grew up in poor neighborhoods but succeeded regardless of whether you like them or not.

I live in Nova and it has a high conencentration of Africans from Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, Somalia, Nigeria Cameroon and more and all of them say they have never even seen huts or the poor areas they show of Africa all the time on TV. my friend from Benin even told me we should get deer and wild animals under control because in his country they don't just roam around like they show in Kenyan safari shows and get hit all the time causing problems like they do here lol. I've only met one guy from Tanzania who told me he saw a slum but he wasn't even apart of that poor area he just happened to see it while passing through. even in nova which always has at least one county that is in the top ten richest in the nation every year, we have homeless people who live in tents behind stores in the woods. they sometimes come into grocery stores and some of them walk around and you can tell they are delirious or on something and many of them are struggling with mental illnesses or physical impairments. Americans think that we are the best nation in the world when sometimes we barely even know our own.

MajorSeventh most of them do stay in their countries. also there are immigrants from Germany and Sweden here as well whose countries you would probably recognize as not shitholes yet they are here. people immigrate even if their nation is great or not shit holes in their eyes. in my case most of my African and practically every other immigrant friends I know of immigrated here for an american higher education which means they are training to be skilled workers this isn't all of them but its a lot of them and the ones I know.
and infest your country? all the Africans I just mentioned I met in college and most of them are studying to be doctors or in the medical/ healthcare or research field they aren't infesting anything I doubt you have the same work ethic nor the mental capacity to accomplish what they do on an annual basis. they also tend to do very well compared to their american counterparts. Even South Africa, with its modern cities, is filled with densely populated shanty towns and the people live in poverty and unemployment in many of these areas is well over 50%. Nigeria, with the largest African economy, has nearly 70% of its population that lives on a dollar or two a day. Man, you can "google" pictures of the poverty in virtually every corner of the continent. Somalia and Ethiopia are two of the poorest countries in the world.

I grew up in the deep south, in Alabama. I now live in Canada. Big parts of America look like shit holes from here, big parts.

That's not true. There are billions of Indians, and so you can literally find a million people there that are willing to make 70% of an American, and live in an apartment with a few other Indians. I have seen this at 3 different companies in 3 different cities. It's the willingness to take the same job, work more hours at a lower rate that makes them appealing. I think we have to make a distinction between the people and the conditions. Why the heck are we sitting here trying to pretend as if some countries in Africa and Haiti aren't indeed shit holes. For some, Libya right now is a shit hole. Instead of focusing on the rhetoric, why not focus on how these countries got that way. Go look at what the min wage for many in Haiti is at the moment. Why does CNN deliberately show the filthiest parts of Bangalore, India? Bangalore’s skyline is prolific and it can match the likes of Singapore and Dubai. It reinforces the stereotypes that people who are born and bred in the West associate with India.

Being a 63 year old retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant (1972-1993) I can say in regard to this that while it might not be diplomatic or tactful, it is in many cases an accurate description of too many third world countries. Most professional U.S. military personnel, especially these days, have been to many of these countries and have seen the truth first hand, although we are not allowed to say that in public of course. Sometimes the truth hurts but maybe with a little more truth things might change for the better. Some of those countries REALLY are that bad. We need too also differentiate here as well. Just because the country is a bad place doesn't mean the individual citizens, who often have no say whatsoever in how the country does or doesn't function, are bad in some way. As for the silly charge of "racism" attributed to these comments by President Trump, which I have seen on some main stream media sites, at what point did telling the truth mean you were automatically a racist? Personally I will always prefer straight blunt talk to far left "political correctness" any day.
