swollen gopro hero 8 battery

2:25 peeling off the outer layer.
bought the gopro hero8 black holiday bundle on January 2020, the battery i used the most has swollen several months ago, the other one that is also in this video although looks fine, is starting to get snug inside the camera and takes some force to pull out, ain't gonna use it anymore. since the gopro batteries swell overtime, i might as well buy some cheap third party ones.

Exactly the same thing happened to me with three original GoPro batteries, all three of them swelled up after a short time of use. What's wrong with the "prestigious" camera manufacturer...?

Same thing with my batterys... I tryed carefuly to make a small hole on the swollen "pillow" and it imidiatly deflatet. My batterys were less than a year old when they became bloated, I am suspecting that it could be the charger but I always used Anker and Samsung phone charger. No idea...

i only charge my gopro through PC, so i think it ain't about the phone charger.

all was perfect for over a year until the last UPDATE & until used the MEDIA MOD.
those were the only differences since ALL 3 BATTERIES STARTED BLOATING!!!

@@bikingchupei2447 the are probably bad battery or poorly constructed. We have now too different charging methods and the same thing happened.

@@RoadTales I don't think they are safe any more. It's like a protection around the battery itself, after I made a small hole there was some liquid that came out and i trew it away. The other one was normal again, no fluid came out, but I not using it anymore. I am not sure what will happen when it get's warm again so I feel better not using it.

And the worst thing is that GoPro is not responsible for the damage done to one of its cameras, due to a battery. Even if it is their own brand...

all 3 of my gopro 8 batteries swelled up ONLY after getting the media mod!
recently picked up 2 new 8 batteries + a gopro 11 pkg that came with 2 batteries
