    This is the best video on YT that shows how to do this task! I watched this video (with the sound turned all the way down ;-)) several times before I did this job! Great detail! If you follow these instructions carefully, you can do this job in a couple of hours! I used a motor already attached to the regulator. Worked well for me. Thanks for posting! You forgot to show the removal of the horizontal track, but I figured it out. All is forgiven!

  • @montyhenson2664
    @montyhenson2664 3 года назад

    Is there a way to use bolt/safety nut to install the regulator back inside the door and not rivets? I assume these china motors will need replacement again.
    Are you suppose to use some lube or grease on those tracks and wheels?

    • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  3 года назад

      Well u would need to get behind the nut to hold it and unfortunately it will have to be a short bolt so it doesnt stick out in the back affecting the travel of the mechanism...and yes youll wanna lubricate the wheels and tracks

  • @keithfields1178
    @keithfields1178 4 года назад

    When installing the new motor, do the drive teeeth need to match the vertical position of the window position when it was removed? How does the motor know when to stop in either direction and cut the power to stop without over, or under driving the window stop?

    • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  4 года назад

      The motor has unlimited travel to spin in either direction when its off the regulator..but when u bolt it up to the regulator, the regulator has a stop position going up and stop position going down that stops the motor from traveling any further.

  • @timadams6254

    Thanks, video was very helpful in replacing my window motor the right way.

  • @keithfields1178
    @keithfields1178 4 года назад

    Adding for clarification. Do I need to center the motor prior to install on the regulator frame. Since the old motor isn’t running how do I insure the posistion of the travel range of the motor to match to the new one prior to install, or just get the new motor close to center and install?

    • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  4 года назад

      The center of the motor slides into the round hole on the regulator assembly and that centers it..and the motor lines up to 3 bolt holes where the rivets were removed..as far as the travel, the regulator is what sets the motors limit as far as travel.

  • @jhoncho4x4

    You can use small bolts and nuts to replace the rivets; don't have to drill it out next time.
    Small piece of tape at bottom of window, to the rubber wiper, keeps window from falling when set at working height; window gravity, pinches the tape to the rubber wiper.

    I purchased the motor/regulator combo set. The spring on the new regulator only half the size of the spring on the original set. The rollers on the new regulator don't look as well made as the originals either. Do you know why that is? Would you recommend putting the new motor on the original regulator, or putting the old spring on the new regulator? Should the new regulator have come with grease for the moving parts?

    • @backyardchevy328
      @backyardchevy328  5 лет назад +1
