🤣🤣🤣 I love this video and I FEEL your frustration D! I knew it would be a musical, but I didn't know it would be...a MUSICAL and like you said it didn't progress the story, just dragged it out which is a terrible combination considering the first was NOT. That ending ticked me off more than I'd like to admit. Literally the DISRESPECT! 😂😂
I'd also like to add, my dad NEVER gets on his phone during a movie and he was scrolling on Twitter about the 2nd half 💀💀. He has NEVER done that. I was SHOOK
This comment took me out! We definitely see each other. Despite my general enjoyment of musicals, you would have thought I NEVER enjoyed a musical a day in my life watching this. Oh, that ending was BEYOND. I was honestly shocked watching it. DC is really going down in flames. 😭😭😭
The superhero has definitely become an oversaturated one in the last few years. Listen, as long as I can provide some entertainment amidst the shenanigans, it's worth it. Thanks for watching, Riva! 🙏🙏🙏
There he is. How it going today and how your Saturday? I am probably one of those people who had no intention to see this movie. When I saw the first one, it put me to a deep sleep. But I will come here to support the content. Just here catching up with your movie reviews after long week of work. Thanks for the reviews as always.
Pretty good so far. You know I'm always keeping with the content. A lot of people didn't care for the first film, but I appreciated the vision. Thanks so much for the continued support and encouragement! 🙏🙏🙏
I had no idea sacrifice would be such an accurate word to use, but oof! I think there are some musicals that can effectively incorporate the elements you mentioned with top-tier storytelling. Unfortunately, those kinds of musicals are few and far between, and many are never quite as successful as they are on the stage. 🙃🙃🙃
Oh dear D. This was so funny! You pacing about all cantankerous. I love it. I thought the film was well acted sad it looked beautiful but it made some really odd decisions as to where it was going.
The more im hearing your review, the more I'm getting hype too🤣Like visually it's gorgeous, the acting I'm with you in that I thoguht it was good too, but damn that writing, the plot, the vision for the film felt so lost in even the movie didn't know how or where they wanted to go..smh smh smh
@@DMovieman FACTS! And I get it, Todd wanted to do something different and take a risk which is fine and all but brother HAS TO read the room sometimes and just deliver what the audience wanted. He had the blueprint from the first film, but decided differently🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ it is what it is..
Joker: Folie a Deux is that great, you want to see a trilogy, especially titled… Joker: Here Day One? Wow D, you seem to be in the small minority that loved this one 😂 I always enjoy a good rant and this is a one that I think is warranted and I can’t imagine that you’re not the only one who ranted on this one my friend,
Right! I enjoyed the first one as well, so this follow-up being such a mess was shocking to me. "Parking lot pimpin'" continues to take me out. I appreciate the support, La Belle! 🙏🙏🙏
Man this review 😂😂😂 I haven’t seen the movie but seeing all the reviews and def one I’m skipping although I have read the ending and boy oh boy I don’t even know what they were thinking
Im 100 percent with you on the frustration of wasting time on these lackluster films. I did kind of like this in areas but very disappointing with the directon. Kind of the same experience as yourself with Chicago. Which this movie, is certainly far from being.
Yes! I think I had more patience at the beginning of this RUclips journey and before lockdown, but now wasting precious time and energy like this drives me loco. Yes, Chicago is so well-executed and engaging, and this.....is just not that. 👎👎👎
I am in the minority that liked this movie. It was bloated in length to tell a simple character story. I felt it followed up on the previous one rather seamlessly. It has more in common with the downbeat works of Bob Fosse or Dennis Potter. To me it felt like an exercise in subversion of that type of story. Arthur has almost zero efficacy as a character and I was compelled by that. They needed to trim the songs or at least perform them in a strange creative way. Like Fosse did with Big Spender in Sweet Charity.
There are definitely a lot of folks that connected to this one. I do wish the musical aspects was handled a lot better. Like you said, delving into the strange creativity would have served this a lot better and improve the experience for me.
I really liked it, Seen a lot worse released this year. This is just my opinion, just like yours is. Doesn't really matter in the long run, you either enjoy a movie, or you don't. I enjoyed it, and that's all that matters in my world.
Yeah, I'm not going to touch the sequel with a 20-foot pole. What a HUGE swing and a miss from Todd Phillips and the WB, not good for the year 2024 in movies.
Firstly my thumb slipped and hit the dislike button 😭. I swear I didn’t mean it and I corrected it lol. Friend, I know we both have a love for musicals. Which I personally don’t find a factor in the movie. But I’m shocked overall that you just didn’t like it lol. What were you wanting from the sequel? And I ask that with love. I like to dissect :). I don’t think it was the sequel of the century, but I also didn’t hate it. Ya know?
It's totally okay and I'd understand even if you did, because we do seem to be on opposing sides with this one. 🥲🥲🥲 I didn't enjoy the pacing and structure of the story with the musical piece, because it didn't feel integrated well. Instead of highlighting the mindset of the characters and their perspective of the world (à la Chicago), it felt more like a distraction from key moments of character development. I loved all the courtroom drama and information, and I wasn't looking for something with a bunch of kills and action. But my expectation for how that would all blend together were a lot higher compared to the actual execution.
@@DMovieman I totally hear you on all of that and completely agree on certain things. I actually want to watch it again and see if I have a different perspective. I respect your opinion friend
Someone had apparently replied to me but seems to have deleted their comment. But to sum up it said how can I comment on a movie I haven’t seen. To that person, it’s actually pretty easy. I open up my phone and then click comment and make said comment. But in all seriousness someone can easily judge something without experiencing it. Just as I know eating live spiders isn’t going to be a great time I can easily say, nope that’s gross. Not for me. and just like this movie after seeing the trailer I knew it was a no. Am I going to give it a bad review somewhere. No.
Oh, definitely! I'm unclear on why people come sideways at other people in comment sections over their opinions. I remember when one of my friends gave a bad review of a film I already wasn't interested in seeing. When I said it confirmed what I already thought of it, then some random person said it was "so sad I couldn't think for myself and only relied on other people's opinions." I thought that was hilarious.
lmao dude this movie was dogwater..This movie was dull..This movie was uninteresting..This movie was as fun as watching paint dry..This movie was indeed one of the worse sequels ever maaaadeeee!!!😭😭

Same! I don't know how I managed to not get on mine, but I should have. A terrible movie will make you do things you never expected! 🙃🙃🙃

I love it. Best singing I've heard from D this year. 😂
Welp! I probably could haver left that on the cutting room floor, but I said I would keep editing to a minimum. 🙃🙃🙃
I'm glad you kept that in because it's how you feel about the movie. It drove you insane and you got to let it out. 😊
3:20 slays me with the “I…😐🫤🤷🏽♂️”
Where is it indeed (the character development). The ending, bro…the ending….Jesus.
I could not deal with this one at all. Kudos to the people that were able to get something out of it, because I AIN'T one of them. 😵💫😵💫😵💫
I love this concept of a post movie, on location, analysis. This is amazing. Can't wait to see this goes.
Thanks so much! I'm used to in-studio reviews, but I figured it was time to switch things up. 🙏🙏🙏
I FEEL YOUR PAIN SO MUCH, D!!!!! 😭
You subjecting yourself to this one actually shocked me. It's Saltburn all over again! 😭😭😭
Almost as bad as that, for sure! I admit to being a bit surprised at how BAD this really ended up being though.
Oh D- sorry but you had me laughing with the disappointment you are feeling- personally over all the comic book movies myself- it is what it is.💗
The superhero has definitely become an oversaturated one in the last few years.

We definitely see each other on this one, compadre! What a mess. I appreciate the support, my friend! 🙏🙏🙏
I knew I was in for a hilarious video with this one 😂
I'm learning that you will always be here for me acting a donkey in these reviews..... 🙃🙃🙃

😮...Dang.
I was THROUGH!!! 😑😑😑
I can't blame you for being done with it. 😊
Thanks for your sacrifice. The only reason I hate musicals is because they stop theme and character development in order to sing and dance.
Its almost like ppl walked into Rent and thought it was about a landlord down on hus luck who fights crime to help his tenants pay their rent
😭😂🙃
Fabulous description; it's the definitive review.
I knew you wouldn’t disappoint
Listen! You know I can't take the shenanigans, ma'am. I was tired and through! 😵💫😵💫😵💫
I been saying this is either going to be magnificent or straight cheekz! 😅
No in between!
Not the cheekz, sir! DEFINITELY no in between here. 😭😂😓

Exactly! So many quality elements, but the most important aspects involving the story and development fell flatter than 4 flat tires! 😴😴😴

I knew this movie was not going to be for me. Hence, I’m not carving time out of my day to even watch this one.
There is nothing I can recommend about this one, unfortunately. NOTHING!!! 😑😑😑
I’m cracking up. Ladies and gentlemen he hasn’t fallen asleep on a movie since FastX. This must be terrible
I do believe I have a photo of you lights out in the same theater. So, you would know best, sir! 😏😏😏

If you can't make the movie look good in the commercials that's a clue. lol.
I was on the fence about it in the trailers for sure, but it managing to be this much of a misfire still shocked me. 🙃🙃🙃

Hopefully, the WB is going to bounce back thanks to Sinners coming up next year. 😊
