    This guy was at my Senior all night party after graduating- he had about 12 out of 300 of us sit in chairs in front of the rest just like this. Naturally, I volunteered to go up.
    With that said: Hypnosis is a funny thing and doesn't work on everyone- it takes a willingness on behalf of the participant to undergo. When he said sleep, we all nodded off but as soon as my head slumped, I woke right back up and casually walked back to my seat in the audience. Years later, I think about how that lack of willingness to be controlled has impacted my life for both better and worse- It turns out, the most powerful form of hypnosis is that of Self-Affirmation, but we are wired to give trust and control to complete strangers at the utterances of simple phrases and gestures.

    Ive been hypnotized before, got my eyes locked shut. the subjective experience to me was that I knew I could open then whenever I want, but when i tried, they just didnt. The whole experience was somewhat traumatic for me because there came a point where I realised that theres nothing special going on, I wasnt under any spell, or being controlled. I realised that my thinking mind is nothing more than a passenger.
    Ever find youself beating yourself up trying to figure why you did something after telling youself not to? Hypnosis for me made me realise what I thought i was, doesnt really even exist

    The reason the have to pre hypnotize is because not everyone is susceptible to suggestion in a deep enough way that they can be manipulated in an entertaining way. They typically start with a large group and ween it down to a much smaller group of those who who are most susceptible.
    Hypnosis, even deep hypnosis for most people is nothing like this.

    Im super late in this but for those in 2020 who happen to stumble upon videos like this one... For 1 : they cant show the introduction or the beginning of the process bc you may become hypnotized yourself just by watching and listening to what he is saying and what he does so to protect those from being hypnotized behind the screen , they cut that part out . 2 : if you don't believe in hypothesis and constantly tell yourself it cant happen and you don't believe then you will not become hypnotized . That dont have mind control powers and cant force you to do anything . You have to open your mind and become open to the idea of you becoming hypnotized . Your welcome 😊

      Hypnotism is really just about getting someone in a subconsious state, almost like being asleep and from there it is easy to affect your decisions. Like when you do something strange in a dream but it seems normal until you wake up.

    • @Rekka7773
      @Rekka7773 4 года назад

      Hypnosis always starts from inside yourself, not someone else, the hypnotist just helps guide you, not command you. Now with that being said, hypnosis can also allow someone to command you and get in your head, if you want that. Personally I love both sides of it.

    We don't listen enough to our sub conscious minds as it is. A hypnotist can make big shifts by addressing gut held problems. We hold a lot of issues in our subconscious and store then in the digestive track. I'm not only a hypnotist myself, but have experienced holding in problems in the past only to get a stomach ulcer for doing so. If you don't think a hypnotist can help by going with the flow and letting them help you, then you must be looney

      I agree. You really didn't need to watch this video. If you wanted to watch the 4-5 minutes it takes to hypnotize someone then your a moron. There is no reason for that to be part of this video. It's better we walked on with participants he already had hypnotized and ready to show the audience how it worked. Especially since his point wasn't to have people in the audience get hypnotized. You are clueless how this works.

      Pre hypnotized is choosing people that are open to sugestion. Not every person is open to sugestion. So, to do this on stage he can try hypnosis on all the spectators an then call on stage only those who follow all his sugestions

      If you understand what is the "subconcious", you understand why hypnotizing is legit.
      Why don't you just try self hypnosis and check by yourself how it works ?!

      I just watched another TED video from 2 years ago where he explained that surprise one of the last steps. I think the 4th step of 5? Get them relaxed and then a surprise will have them more open to suggestion, or something like that. Worth looking up!
