Love how Barry always struggled to get a word out of Robin, but as soon as Barry started harmonizing Robin came alive lol, such a brilliant skit, RIP Robin Gibb.
That's what actually got me laughing on this skit. Even though he didn't want to cooperate, he couldn't stop from harmonizing with Barry, like a trained circus animal.
Timberlake is always hilarious at selling his characters in any comedic skit.
But it’s not like Robin at all. Robin did harmonize with Barry but he liked to be heard too. So the personality here is so different it’s not funny. Unlike a lot of Kate McKinnon does. The whole schtick is mildly amusing but not great. I’m a Bee Gees and early SNL fan. Jimmy Fallon was ok.
@@ginger22ly Barry eventually made an appearance on the sketch, so i guess it's safe to say that he approved and enjoyed it.
Well, I'm sure Barry didn't act like that either. It's just an exaggerated comedy skit, but if you add it to everything else Fallon has done, he's a genius, and well sometimes geniuses are temperamental.

Justin Timberlake's portrayal of Robin Gibbs (RIP) is flawless.
@Chuck Anya Andy wasn’t a Bee Gee, the other brother was Maurice, Robin’s twin.
Yes it is an exaggerration it is not supposed to be 100% accurate, it works perfectly for the skit.

@@bobdavis4848 I’m well aware that Any was a Gibb. I simply said he wasn’t a BeeGee and they said he might eventually have joined the band. We’ll never know what could have been.
I agree that "Robin" actually looks more like Andy Gibb. He needed thicker eyebrows to pull off that character

This is one of Fallons best sketches on SNL. Maybe his best. He didn't crack up, that's amazing!
Justin tried not to but you could tell he was struggling to not crack up.

Seriously...What THE FUCK is up with Fallon in these Gibb-skits? Forgot about them,now been watching them for days....He NEVER breaks character,a feat concidering how insane and outlandish the role is,he get this creation completely,his comedic timing is perfection,dude doesn´t even seem to read cue-cards for most of the time....He must´ve loved this. Huge respect and alotta his skitruining in the past is completely forgiven.Not even Matt Foley was funny anymore by the 6th time,some repition doesn´t work. This just gets funnier and funnier, SNL AT ITS BEST.,Awesome harmonies with JT.. .I´m your brother ,Robin, Look at Mah....
He mostly broke w/ Sanz & Ferrell, they were his kryptonite and they were also actively trying to make him break.
But he had a lot of sketches in which he didn't break...like these series: Boston Teens (Sully & Denise), Z105 (DJ Joey Mack), The Bloater Brothers, Nick Burns (computer guy), The How Do You Say?, Celebrity Jeopardy, TRL, Weekend update song series and a lot of one-timers like: Cork soakers, Extreme Wedding, The joys of marriage, Monday night football, The fun friends club, The box, War horse, Beethoven, Summer nights and a lot more and he didn't break in a lot of Weekend Update...and of course he didn't break in the pre-taped ones (eg. commercials for beer, creams, fast food) etc.
Like Jimmy says, he didn't always break, he broke in the best sketches and that's why ppl remember it :)))

I think their skit works so well because they are buddies! Justin is hysterical! I love all of their skits together!
Hammond's Jimmy Carter impersonation is impeccable.
Hammond is arguably the best impersonator SNL has ever had, next to Bill Hader.

Timberlake, at the end of the day, is a comedic genius. We love to mess with boy band fodder, but he is the best cast member every time he is on.
The best cast member on is always Kristen Wiig
I was very surprised at how good Justin Timberlake is at comedy. He's not afraid to totally immerse himself in a flaky, or crazy character. I laugh far more often at his antics than I do at Fallon, or any other cast member in the skits.
Yeah, JT could have easily been a regular cast member on SNL if he wasn't a pop star. He was really good and funny. Maybe not a caliber of the legends on the show, but he is funnier than most of the "second-rate" forgettable members.

One of the few singers with a sense of humour. In the end, musicians are mostly just angry, territorial nerds who take themselves too seriously, but have the money for a personal trainer and dietician, as well as drugs to keep them from eating. That’s why so many whine about Weird Al parodying their songs. They take themselves too seriously. Music isn’t about the music anymore anyway. You could put most music videos on today and not miss a thing. But they think they’re musical geniuses. I admire Queen because they weren’t so serious either. Brian May after receiving an award famously said, “thank you for letting us do what we loosely call our art.” He was almost mocking these anal singers who think their rendition of “I want to f*k you like an animal” is Mozart.
I don’t think Jimmy ever broke character on this and it absolutely cracks me up.
I can literally watch this 6 years later & LAUGH..

JT has consistently been the absolute best host of SNL. I say this with like over 40 years of watching the show. Timberlake is hilarious and seems like an amazing person
Fallon NEVER makes me laugh, but he did with this. And Timberlake's deadpan is priceless.

I think these are just the best, and JT is completely hilarious. My favourite bits are when Jimmy can see he Justin is losing it and he keeps pushing to make him laugh. It's such great TV and really hilarious to watch. There are so many depressing things on TV. I wish this was on in England

The way Fallon talks is so funny it’s gut wrenchingly hilarious then the falsetto between words even better
I've just discovered these and they are really funny, especially when they burst into song.
Their characters seem the complete opposite to real life though. Barry always comes across to me as smiley and laid back to me and Robin as the one who wanted to talk a lot about serious subjects.
One of my favorites. Something about the Fallon/Timberlake chemistry. Actually I’ve never seen a bad Timberlake skit ever!

I love Jimmy Fallon. I think I must be his biggest fan the way other people criticize him. He's multi-talented.
I'm a fan, too. He's done some stuff that I didn't particularly care for, but people are way too critical of him. He's crazy talented and seems like a good guy.
