Charles, I was going to say the same thing. Hornady can't even stock bullets or ammo. Now how is this going to be any different? They expect us to buy a rifle they can't supply ammo for?
@@davidlaroche8928 Sure you can find red boxes everywhere, the problem is it's the stuff no one needs or wants because that market is saturated. My stores almost always have full shelves of Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor but zero 6.5 Grendel. Nobody is buying all the Creedmoor because that's all they've been producing while everyone is waiting for the calibers they actually need ammo for.
Cartridge development and innovation shouldn't stop just because people are stupid and are buying up everything in sight as soon as it touches the store shelves. Pretty much every manufacturer has been producing ammunition as fast as the factories can, but it just doesn't keep up with demand. If people would just stop this bullshit, the supply would catch up and then there would be ammo on the shelves and the crazy fast production rate would eventually make the supply surpass the demand and prices would go down. This could happen at any point and the companies know it so the time to release new cartridges is now, while people are buying up everything in sight. It makes sense if you think about it. This is also why they aren't just opening new factories as well. They know that this insatiable demand could stop at any point and with all these people hoarding ammunition, the market will dry up rather quickly.
I get that long range is selling a lot of guns right now, but a lot of us are hunting in hardwoods, or over small food plots. The Levervolution was a great development for many of us. But can you put your design team up to making the a round for the woods hunter? I love your old round nose designs like you have in the Hornady logo. Used them for years and sometimes you could hear that bullet smack a deer. It's time brush busters got a face lift with gummy tips and bonded cores. The 308 case family with 200 yard deer loads would be great, or even better a new short action round designed to perform out of 20" barrels on whitetail and hogs! I just don't see forking over new gun money for rounds designed for 300+ yard shots when I struggle to see 150 yards in my stands. But a purpose built brush gun (if that exists) that packs great killing power and penetration for the light rifles like the Ruger compact, Remington model 7, or similar light bolt guns would be nice. You could sell me on a 300 savage or 358win. Even a 338 federal if it was loaded from the ground up to be a deer bullet. High BC just does not mean much to a guy shooting 75 yards. I want bullet performance like a partition in a heavy for caliber bullet moving out at 2700 to 2900 fps that can withstand a small twig, or quartering away angle and get through vitals with good expansion. The 350 legend sold a lot of guns and ammo, and it not that impressive. A 35rem or 300 savage would have been a better starting point for a bolt gun. Neck that to 32cal, and give us a 150 to180gr load with fast powders and a gummy tip round nose slug that no deer or hog can survive and a lot of guys will give it a try. I know you can build a better woods gun, try that next please...

The ELDX bullet is a good idea, will an adapter be available to add to the ramrod of the muzzleloader to protect the top of the ELDX tip while loading it ??
I am interested in the 7mm PRC for a relatively lightweight mountain 🏔 rifle preferably in left hand. I don’t need it for here in the big woods of West Virginia. My 270 Win does fine for that. If I had the money I would get a 45-70 so I can hunt Ohio too. I like the looks of the Bore Drag ELDX. I have been shooting the SST Low Drag for years in my CVA Optima V2 and like those. I can see you guys coming out with a Bore Drag CX in 290 ish grain for those copper only states or for folks who like the penetrating performance of that bullet, during next year’s $HOT Show.
What I want to know is when is Hornady going to make the sweet hitting 5.56/.223 cartridge with mass expansion to take down Whitetail deer. You know the one that will open a large wound cavity more like its larger caliber counterparts. instead of pin holing (yes I mean pin holing) and punching straight through the chest cavity, leaving only a small hole. While still remaining to get that longer ranged shot being perfect for self defence, cqb, and hunting, all in 1 cartridge. Hornady can seem to do it with all other cartridges why not 5.56/.223 of which is my favorite multi purpose cartridge I think there is still allot to be explored with 5.56/223 people have just give up and moved to other calibers some being larger but 5.56/.223 will always be that do all perfection of light weight, speed, and size.
If you want to have the perfect hunting cartridge, load it yourself. That's how you know you'll be able to have a continuous supply of bullets for putting dinner on the table
I’m a life long Hornady product buyer and have been trying for 3 years now to buy P/H cartridges in 300 wsm with no luck. So I’m less than excited about new products that won’t be available what about your old customers ??
Hornady, how about a “Critical Bear” load utilizing a 180gr controlled expanding high antimony bullet at 1300 FPS. The round should utilize a nickel case and sealed primer. It would be a great outdoor defense load and hunting load for hogs and deer. 👍
@@hornady thank you for the response. don't bother its not gonna be cheap and the accessories only come from Hornady to fit it. We've had slotboard for decades and it still hasn't taken over pegboard!
Do they even make "cup and core" component bullets anymore? All I can find are premium "trick" bullets. And golly. Long heavy for caliber bullets. And what were the 6.5s from the 1890s?
Hornady, please stop stuffing already overflowing shelves with the mainstream calibers and start focusing on other calibers like 6.5 Grendel. I'm on close to a dozen notification lists and I've gotten exactly 3 notifications of 6.5 Grendel in the last 3.5 years! All but one of those times the ammo was gone by the time the notification hit my email and the one time I did get in I was limited to 4 boxes. That's FOUR 20 round boxes in almost 4 years! Meanwhile, the store shelves are overflowing with mainstream calibers like 6.5 Creedmoor. Stores always say the same thing "we only get very small shipments of 6.5 Grendel and it sells out within minutes". Shooters are selling their guns because there hasn't been ammo for years now. Please, it's time to stop focusing on mainstream calibers, you've succeeded in that and start producing enough of the other calibers to meet the demand.
I just seem a Hugh amount of spent Hornaday 44 mag brass at a forest gravel pit someone didn't pick up. I don't have any reason to own another handgun, so I left it.
Order it from Starline when they allow backorders... I have not been able to get any Hornady brass for what I have needed for the past year... I have been able to get it from Starline
They are just updating older cartridges with newer, longer, heavier for caliber, bullets (aka creedmooring it) Its gotta end sometime. I am a newer rifle owner, a 6.5 creedmoor and PRC owner and even I am tired of it. There isn't much to invent with the old cartridges I suppose, and if they invent a new one, they get the lions share of the new sales for a while. In the end the most high selling cartridges will win. Demand will ,eventually force it.
If it's new it's not true, if it's true it's not new. It's not like manufacturing companies are stretched beyond capabilities... This is only making old guns obsolete. What is the point of new cartridges? What can they do that old cartridges can't? Some people can't be content.
I love when people complain when a company makes an improvement that makes something "obsolete". Thankfully the people that made computers back in the day didn't say "oh hey we don't want to make this machine obsolete, even though we can improve it by a little bit." Hornady put out an hour long podcast to talk about the differences. Go watch it then maybe you will get your answers. Also, old guns are fun too, if that's your style might be time to go on a shopping spree.
Planned obsolescence. Bring out new, new, new while not supporting previous products = consumers have to buy new, rare, expensive products. I got off of that treadmill. I if I can't reload it, I don't keep it.
@@robertl6196 I hope Hornady makes those 255gr .312" pills of the subsonic 7.62x39 available to reloaders. I paid extra for reloadable 7.62x39 for just that reason. @@CountryboyBOB I'll be honest, I don't typically buy ammo from companies I've never heard of or seen tested so not sure who Defiant Munitions is. And I will get a box or two from K-VAR. Like I said, usually whenever I look they are unavailable.
Can we have a 7,1mm next year? I think the already giant palette of calibers to choose from, needs even more additions which below the line are not that different to other calibers.
Why are you acting as if .284 isn't an established caliber?
The ELDX bullet is a good idea, will an adapter be available to add to the ramrod of the muzzleloader to protect the top of the ELDX tip while loading it ??
How about just making existing ammo?
WELL SAID.
SUPPORT THOSE THAT HAVE SUPPORTED HORNADY FOR DECADES!
Hoping you will look into a 6,5X55 with a 120 grain GMX
Is any of that 5.45mm brass ever going to hit the market?
Can't find any of your 20 gauge deer slugs any where , saw some at a gunshow they wanted $60 for 5 , and very few 12 gauge, could you run some
Hornady, how about a “Critical Bear” load utilizing a 180gr controlled expanding high antimony bullet at 1300 FPS. The round should utilize a nickel case and sealed primer. It would be a great outdoor defense load and hunting load for hogs and deer. 👍
Lol 180 grain? Naa 200-220 .300 win mag for bears they get the best not deer rounds
Federal Terminal Ascents open at 1250 yards!
How about focusing on producing reloading supplies and putting ammunition on the shelves?
Are you able to share the projected msrp on the new scale? Thank you
That should be listed on a variety of retailer websites.
@@firee2 Accurate to .04, can readout in either hundredths or you can make it round to the nearest tenth if desired.
@@hornady thank you for the response. Reading the product description on the retailers website does not highlight that advantage and does not provide that level of detail that was mentioned in your video. The general consumer may be led to believe that it does not provide a higher level of accuracy over the many of the current offerings within this product class.
Hey what about the 8.6 Blackout? It's my go to caliber for big game hunts now. I'm having a bolt action rifle built in 8.6 blackout now.
When can we expect the 7.62x39 Sub x to hit the shelves.
I've been having problems looking for brown bear subs for my suppressed bren 2, that sounds good to me
I wonder how much all the square lock stuff will cost.
don't bother its not gonna be cheap and the accessories only come from Hornady to fit it. We've had slotboard for decades and it still hasn't taken over pegboard!
@@PatriotPaulUSA Yea, this is true.... Personally I've used slot for like 20 years now but it is hard to find a strong panel for a decent price.
hell yeah babbyyy!!!!
What's with all the hyper back ground noise, is this video about ammunition or your child's third grade music class?
Where is the WSM cartridges for brass for us reloaders?
Do they even make "cup and core" component bullets anymore? All I can find are premium "trick" bullets.
And golly. Long heavy for caliber bullets. And what were the 6.5s from the 1890s?
Can't wait for them to make some more new 300 win mag eld x ammunition hopefully they get to that soon
I hear ya there, I see everything but 6.5 Grendel... :(
This is why you save your brass. You may be pushed to reload whether you like it or not, or get rid of that rifle/barrel.
@@amorton94 I do reload, finding powder, primers and projectiles is as impossible as finding complete ammo.
Please saami spec the 22creed and 6prc .....please 👍👍
Great product great company. NRA 2022
But will it be around in 10 years like all the short mags?
I want an all copper bore driver!
Where is the .338 sub-x for 8.6 blackout?
Give it time Hornady isn't even making 8.6blk cases yet, I will bet. They will make them in time I'm sure.
Been on the fence about a 6mm arc but brass has never been available.
Wow, what an innovative idea, a storage wall system...we'll need to steal that idea. Possibly a Hornady executive.
How about some 6mm ARC Brass?
Could you please make 44mag brass available? This is near impossible to find anywhere. For us who reload it's very difficult to find components.
I always try Starline in MO 1st as its a bit better brass for rifles anyway.
@@tracyg1 Been looking there, will probably give them a try. Thanks. 👍😎
Will a 1 in 10 twist stabilize the 255 gr bullet at that low velocity ?……..
Excellent
Thank you so much 😀
We need more of stuff already made not new things. We need shelves restocked with common self calibers. No one I know uses 7mm
Yet
How about some 338 lapua or 30-30 I haven't seen a box of either for 2 years here in Communistfornia
@@zachmayhew I did watch the Hornady video this morning
New cartridges are the easiest way to sell new guns. Subsonic 7.62x39 is the easiest way to get MY money.
I will pay Hornady's price for factory subsonic 7.62x39 if it is actually available in more than a single limited run per year like their reloadable 5.45x39.
Maybe you could focus on making some 280 ammo first
Hi guys when will we see a 22 prc
Hey Hornady, how about producing the stuff we need?
You guys need to make a Lot of
35 Remington. It’ll help the old Marlin owners. And it’ll help Ruger sell there new and improved Marlin 336. In 35rm
No .338 Sub-X for 8.6 BO?
Yeah I pay $53 a box of 20 for the 6.5prc can’t imagine the 7mm prc price $ going to be ?
I love hornady but he'll, I'm still looking for the 350 legend sub x ammo. And can't find any .308 custom lite ammo, but yet y'all making all these new products. I just don't understand it.
Be nice to get a smaller caliber straight wall for youth hunters. Something along the lines of a 25-28 caliber
Scale cool
In Spain we need 338 wm bullets please
Any ELD-X expansion photos available?
might be a reason for that.
when will we see the 7prc ammo available?
Never because no one is going to buy it when you can barely even find .308 or 6.5 Creedmoor. Hornady needs to make standard cartridges first before trying to reinvent the wheel (6.5 Creedmoor/.300 Win Mag)
How about making some 35 Whelen 225gr ammo for a change...
Stoked! 🔥🔥🔥
I need some .405 Win
Make the bore driver in .452 and make the half sabot removable.
How about some new development in the lever action guns. I love 35 remington, it will do about all a man needs but ammo is scarce and older technology. I love the buffalo bore 220 grain ammo but can't find it to replace the box I have so it doesn't get shot much.
For reloads I'm doing the 35 Rem I load the 200 grain Barns TTSX bullet then this goes into the Marlin chamber and reload round noise goes into the tube magazine.
Driving me nuts trying to find any leverevolution ammunition on the Shelves.I use it in 7/30, 357,45-70, 44 mag and 25-35. It is both the most accurate And best performing on Game In all the guns I have in these Calibers. I am Totally devoted to horny Products because of this. Please manufacture more leverevolution!
7mm Remington magnum has 175 gr bullets
What was your position on forcing the shot on people again?
8.6 BLK??
I'm wondering if you mad scientists would consider developing a 6.8 ARC cartridge. I love my 6mm ARC. This would give new life to us 6.8 SPC hunters.
Not interested in an other NEW repeat ballistic cartridge, But...I bought one of your neck trimmers , nice but not cheap , great that you put 22, 243, 6.5 and 30 cal mandrels in the box but....25, 277, 284 would have been very convenient! I would have glady paid an extra $20 to have the convenience covering most of the mandrels needed, up here north of the boarder hardly anyone carries accessories for Hornady , needless to say no one has the three mandrels I need 25, 277 and 284! And due to the USA Trump bill for export , no one will ship any gun relaited parts out of the US.
I can't get 6.5 PRC so I sold my rifles. 300 PRC is also unavailable. Primers are not available for reloading. Bullets are unavailable Etc... No Bullets, Brass powder and primers Where have they gone?
I don't know about that bore driver. Looks like you could squash that polymer nose in with the ram rod.
Hope to have a specially designed ramrod tip available soon that will eliminate the chance damaging the polymer tip.
@@hornady That would be great. I already occasionally have problems crushing your FTX bullets when seating them.
Has anyone looked at using 9mm brass for bullet jackets? The use of 22LR brass is too thin for larger bullets.
Swaging?
@@hoffmiermp If you are asking the question, this subject is way over your head. Swaging bullets is the process of making bullets by hand.
@@kensmith8832 Really? I use a Corbon press to swage .223 bullets from .22lr cases. So yeah, save me the "over your head" garbage.
@@hoffmiermp Cool, so the term is all the problem is. Sorry about assuming the worse, it is the byproduct of social media. Some bullet makers are looking for new ideas and ways to cut costs, so the talk of using recycled brass as bullet jackets could be a unique solution.
