That's correct. According to the creators' commentary, the different titles are from the different dubs. Genuine demon is from Big Green Dub, true freak is the original Funimation dub, and devil is from the original japanese dub.

"How is he not famous?" Yeah, that's one of the weirdest things about Z. In the original series, everyone was fully aware of Master Roshi and his teachings. They knew full well ki blasts and the like existed, Demon King Piccolo was a well-known threat, and Goku was a really popular fighter. Then Z comes along and suddenly the whole world forgot about all of that. I've read a theory it's because most of the people alive during that time are dead, but it's pretty clear not that many years have passed.
Yeah, it's only like 4 years between end of DB and start of Z. My theory is someone made a wish on the dragon balls in that time frame. It's the only thing that makes sense. Goku defeated the world known demon king on live radio after all.
Actually demon king piccolo was merely a legend from a hundred plus years ago, although most people knew about him nobody really thought he was real except a few. Ki blasts on the other hand were well known but stopped being so sometime in z

My all time favorite scene with Broly was the “Princess Trunks” moment. What makes it better for me is when I watched Season 5 of RWBY when they fought Hazel and when he screams Ozpin, I had a crazy moment Imagining Hazel calls out “Princess Jaune!” and ends with Jaune looking frightened and yells out “Ruby get me out of here right now I’m serious, use your semblance-!” (Bam).
I can see this whole thing play out in my head and I have to thank you for this gift you have given me :D

It's like when you're watching a TV show, and a character in the show is a bad actor, forcing the actor to play the part of a worse actor than they are to simulate that.

@gurvmlk I've always wondered if an actor's character is a bad actor, can they just get away with acting badly or do they have to act like they're acting badly? Because since their character is playing a different character, technically the actual actor doesn't really need to stay in character.

As the actual creators of the show, they used the word triggered in a medical sense, various things cause people to get a trigger which Is a pshycological reaction.

I'm sure someone else has probably mentioned it, but Chichi's dad is The Ox King. Chichi is a princess, hence the "I come from money" line, and the "Most of her clothes make her look like a Chinese princess" line uttered by android 18 when the androids were rummaging through Goku's house.
As well as the line about Gohan's original outfit having that "Chinese prince look" in the TFS version of Dead Zone.
28:50 "Oh, he's seizing now... and he exploded." In the original movie, Broly has too much power for him to contain it. In the movie, while is in his Legendary form, he has to release massive amounts of energy periodically because he can't contain it all. In the series, Vegeta says the original legendary super saiyan was destroyed by his own power. Goku punches Broly where he was stabbed as a baby, so it was kind of like a weak spot. Broly pops like an energy filled balloon because the legendary super saiyan has too much power to control it. Fans still debate this since it's not all spelled out neatly in canon.
Realistically they just wrote themselves into a corner with how powerful they made Broly. I don't think they had a good plan for how to end the movie, they just knew it was about time to do so.
Except not...
Broly did have too much power and too little training to control it but Goku's punch was in the stomach and this version of Broly does not have any scar from King Vegitta's attempt at stabbing him.
@@galanga21890also isn't it explained in a data book or something that while the generic SSJ form is a constant drain on stamina and energy to maintain, the LSSJ form is the opposite in that the weilder is constantly gaining stamina and energy. Explaining how he's capable of wiping out an entire galaxy solo (when planet busting was the peak)
yeah basically he went critical like a reactor. Goku just hit his old knife would out of dumb luck, breaching him. At one point in the fillm he clearly "Vents" his energy in between pummelings, to spell it out more clearly.

@@DynomitePunch And yet the trigger for that is Goku's name, which he wouldn't know to connect to those events. Even subconsciously, there would be no reason for him to have known Kakarot's name even back then, let alone that Kakarot was associated with the crying. It would've been different if the trigger was the sound of crying, but what makes it absurd is the trigger being the name Kakarot. Which ties that trauma to Goku more specifically than it does anything committed by King Vegeta.

So the bit with goku saying it was Gohan's movie next is that the next movie after Broly was going to be the Bojack movie, which had Gohan as the main character of that as it took place after the Cell Games. But. . . that was around the time that TFS had made the announcement they were done because of burnout.
And they said Bojack is "unabridgeable" because there's no good scenes with most of the villain's gang to use, so it was hard to make jokes land.
It's pretty sad, but Toriyama couldn't manage to write Gohan as a protagonist for long, Toei couldn't do it well in Bardock and TFS burned out trying to figure it out too. Gohan's got some sort of curse on him!

Its a real shame, i would have loved a TFS bojack movie..
But the serious lack of animations was pretty much a nail in the coffin of that one.. especially when you mix it with the guys feeling like they are starting to burn out on it
@@ShaimingLong Probably because Gohan doesn't have the personality to fit the role of a main character in a story that's primary feature is fighting. Having a character who doesn't like fighting be the focus in a show about fighting just doesn't really work without forcing it.
The Shamoshians enjoyed being enslaved and abused when they step out of line.
Makes you wonder why the brickwork in Vegeta’s palace was a shit-show.

Something I think deserves saying regarding to Broly losing it because Goku cried a lot: it’s often forgotten that Z Broly was kinda already a psychopath even for a Saiyan. As battle-hungry and otherwise as normal Saiyans could be, Broly was cranked to 11, so much so that when Paragus wasn’t looking he’d go blow up planets just for kicks; Paragus had to use a device (that headband Broly wears that falls to his collar after he goes Legendary) to mindwash his son to be so passive and timid so he wouldn’t go off the handle. Unfortunately, encountering Goku again broke all those walls down and the rest is history. As much as it’s joked about, the memory of Goku crying was more of a gateway to the flood of memories of nearly being killed and the deranged psychosis he had before we see him fight.
DBS Broly is a little different, still has the overwhelming power but has more of a sympathetic backstory and isn’t so crazed as his DBZ counterpart.

So every time he relives the trauma of all that stuff happening, that's all he can remember. I like the story behind when Broly tbh. I forget how it started, but it was asked so often that tfs released the digimon abridged movie, and "when broly" was a line the heroes used. I would recommend the watch tbh. it was a good laugh, and the april fool's digimon movie was unexpected

In all actuality, that is part of it. Z-Broly had a constant power gain, so he constantly had to release power to keep his body from exploding. When Goku hit Broly, he actually made a way for Broly's excess energy a way out. Thus he was unable to control himself and self destructed.

I love the fact that one of the greatest anime heroes is a good guy because he was dropped on his head as a baby.

I know its already been explained to you that Goku originally agreed to marry Chi Chi as a kid because he thought marriage was a food. Just to clarify, it wasn't till years after that she tracked him down to honor that agreement. Goku had to have marriage explained to him at that point, he explained about his misunderstanding but then stated that he would marry her anyway. In the dub, he seems to indicate that he actually wants to marry her.
Believe it or not, Broly is actually more articulate in this version than the original dub.
