I have exactly the same bike (except the Arrow Exhaust). One of the best motorcycles I've ever ridden. So agile, so easy to handle and so much fun to ride.
That's certainly the best sounding exhaust I've heard for this bike, thanks for taking the time to share the video with us. I'm going to look at a 2023 R1250R SE in the Sport colours tomorrow, the bikes already been well specked up but the Arrow can will be the icing on the cake.
Honestly. You don't need an extra exhaust because the standard Exhaust sounds wonderfully deep and has this sputtering and bubbling when you take the throttle off.
Great video! Absolutely concur with all your comparison models, the Arrow looks and sounds great. My only ‘issue’ with the 1250R is the location of the end can. I mean BMW designed that gorgeous single sided swing arm and then cover it up with the factory chrome howitzer looking can! Nice to hear an Aussie perspective too, given there are plenty of northern hemisphere videos/opinions out there. Subscribed!
I wish there was a 23 1250R near me with Dynamic-ESA. Should’ve never sold my 20 1250R. The new 23 have heated seat, LED lights, and adaptive headlight. One dealer has a 22, but w/o D-ESA too. Considering the 22 because of the deal. Cheers from Colorado 🇺🇸
Just picked up a 2024: Triple Black is just the best look. Added 719 shadow package to engine and the cast aluminum wheels It really makes the bike pop. Previously S1000XR which is a really great bike. Not much personality in the 2021 engine. Curious about if you will do a tail tidy. Enjoy the ride.
Thanks for your comment and well done getting a 2024 Triple Black! I agree with your engine personality comment and have felt this way for years regarding inline fours. Some are better than others, but I want to feel some personality from an engine.
Hi Mike, I have just ordered a new Arrow Exhaust. A mate just told me the BMW exhaust (Akrapovic) had the Catalytic converter in it and that the bike will need the ecu to be re mapped? In the past I’m sure other bike’s I’ve had, have remapped them selves. Great if you have any information on this. Thanks Michael
Hi Mike, there is so much misinformation out there about exhausts, re-mapping, etc. You should ideally see what Arrow recommends or speak to a tuner. Long story short, the cat is in the section under the bike, not the slip-on. The new exhaust is less restrictive though and whilst the closed-loop operation (steady-state, part throttle) will 'adjust', a bike's ECU does not remap itself. Ideally, a re-map will extract best performance, though I've not done this and my bike runs well.
Thanks Mike, I just looked and yes, I see the catalytic converter is seperate. I will just fit it once it arrives and see how it goes. Did yours come with the Akrapovic or the chrome BMW one?
@@MichaelCurrie-o3o Absolute pleasure, yeah I think you’ll find it runs perfectly without any further work. Mine came with the chrome BMW one, I ordered it that way because I didn’t like the look of the Akra can and knew I’d be fitting something.
I'm trying to find an Arrow exhaust for my 2022 R1250R SE, but they say they're for a 2019-2020 only, or is it they haven't updated their sites and they fit all from 2019? Can you help please? Thank you
Hi Sarah, there are no changes in terms of exhaust fitment from 2019 to 2024, so the mufflers are all the same and interchangeable on the R1250R. The only differences are Euro 4 and 5, with Euro 5 post 2022 I think versions having the less desirable non-removable baffle!
Beautiful bike ( I have the RS) but can’t believe you’ve not fitted any kind of crash protection on those heads , even a low speed spill ensures the first thing to hit the floor …. Ouch
Thanks Steve and yes, I'm not a big fan of crash protection on bikes at all actually. I may get the very low-profile head guards though, I had some of those on my R1200R.

@@kruisr7449 Thank you for your valued advice, I’ve bought the one I went to test ride and I agree with you.
Looking good Mike; 136HP @ 7750rpm, 143Nm @ 6250rpm & 239kg wet for these Munich masterpieces.
Nice sound! - yes, you'll love riding the Boxer torque,, easy to ride slow,,, and easy to ride fast!. Congratulations!
Thank you! I did own a 2009 R1200R for about five years, so I am familiar with these engines. This is like that, on steroids 💪
Same exhaust, took the baffle out for a wonderful deep tone. Love it.
Yeah, it's a great exhaust, I've had my baffle out for a while too!
@@LiquidAudio how hard is baffle removal? I just ordered this for my r1250r...is it one screw to remove the baffle?
@@ArabianOak If you have the pre Euro 5 muffler like this one then it's just one large circlip. You'll need a large pair of internal circlip pliers.

Thank you and yeah, that factory muffler is BAD! The Arrow and Evotech tail tidy I recently fitted definitely improve the back end.
@@LiquidAudio I didn’t realise an R1300R is on the horizon, model number etc sounds kinda cool..

Yeah I really like the D-ESA suspension, and the new light and heated seat etc are excellent bonuses.
@@LiquidAudio loved switching between road and dynamic. Kept it in MAX setting for my height
@@moph7July06 Agreed, I have just those two modes active and it spends a lot of time in dynamic mode.
I got the esa and live in colorado extra bonus?
My dealer told me Saturday that none of the 2023 r's have ESA. I didn't want to have one without that feature.
Well, my 2023 R1250R has ESA and yes, it's excellent. I think you'll find you've received incorrect information from your dealer.

Im looking to buy the same bike and also searching for an exhaust to go with it. Is your's just the slip-on or is it a full system.
The exhaust you see here is an Arrow slip-on.

Do you have cylinder head covers?
I do not.
Ok, I looked at his inventory & indeed none of his had ESA. One listed for $19,600. You not in the USA are you?
I'm in Australia. Interesting though because you can configure these with any of the packages including ESA. A mystery!
