    I got to meet one of NYC's finest last year when he spied the clip of my SOG (Twitch XL) as I exited a Duane Reade . I didn't get to eat dirt or spend time in jail, but he did have an awful lot of questions about a knife that was perfectly legal, even in NYC. My favorite was: "Who carries a knife like that?" My answer was: "everyone in Texas." I don't think he was amused, but his partner laughed.

    so glad (selfishly) I'm apart of an exclusive 421 thousand something string club viewing this man. Followed you ever since I saw your AK-47 guitar and in that time I've watched every video, with my dad, religiously everytime a video comes out, having little competitions to see who saw it first. Strange that a man in America can bring together everyone all over the world. Just what the world needs right now.
    Love your videos, love your TV shows, I love your style, I love you man.

      Jonathan Milbury I use a Lansky Standard kit lansky.com/index.php/products/std-3-stone-system/ for the kitchen blades - with a little patience you can get a "horror movie" edge ("sharp" does not do it justice!) There are plenty of videos out there to show you how.

    My dad's first pocket knife was a Case. He got it when he was 10 years old, 1908. It's still around, blades sharpened on Arizona granite boulders. When I got a knife in 1953, it was a Sears pocket knife. Dad called it a case knife. I told him it was a Sears knife, but his father, who was a Captain in the Union Army taught him to call any folding knife a "case" knife because it folded into its own case.
    Apparently "Case" knife came along and took advantage of the name so when a cowboy or ranch hand went to buy a case knife, he got himself a genuine Case knife. ----- just a little trivia. Stay tuned, I'm full of it. Just ask my ex-wife. Uh, on second thought, don't say anything to her!!!

    Jimmy, the Leatherman jams when the tools are loose. The pliers will get under them and jam tight. If you find which side is loose you can use gravity to keep the tools closed so the pliers close after them. Or you can get a couple of safety torx and tighten the tools and you won't have that problem anymore. If this isn't clear, I can take some pics to show you what I mean.

    • @CthulhuRogers
      @CthulhuRogers 7 лет назад +15

      Depends on where you are. New York is one of the worst. Certain states and cities are much more relaxed, but there's typically very little logic applied to knife laws in general. You can get a permit to carry a firearm, but certain knives are still not allowed. As if any knife you could possibly have is gonna do more damage than a gun.

    • @censusgary
      @censusgary 7 лет назад +19

      There are places in the U.S. where you can carry any kind of gun, but not some kinds of knives. Why? Probably because the knife industry doen't have the kind of lobbying muscle that the gun industry has.

      reaper1874 , I think when they wrote the constitution "the right to bear arms" had the English meaning (only nobility had the right to bear arms, all others, commoners didn't have that right for fear of arousals). in America now arms mean rifles for the colonials to hunt in my opinion

    Jimmy, in regard to the "Ian" knife (12:51), I have a very slender pen knife (pen clip) with identical locking mechanism, also with "IAN" stamped on the base of the blade, "Made in Brazil" on the othar side. Embossed on the blade is "Executive Edge" with the registered trademark icon. Love the thing because so unique and handy, always available in shirt breast pocket. Got it decades ago when you could still find knife stores in shopping malls. Tried to find more on internet a few years back, learned the outfit that made them went broke, but supposedly a few show up on Ebay every now & then. Wish I had also bought a model like yours, looks much sturdier.

    • @deltafox3247
      @deltafox3247 7 лет назад +3

      That's is right. It is made by a Brazilian knife maker who invented that pen style pocket knife. At first he was making knives at his backyard.. literally and then, the high quality on his work turned him into a specialist. Nowadays those knives are expensive, even in Brazil and some of them are made of a custom metal mix he invented. Such a nice thing! I've met the man. Simple guy with a lot of talent. He gave me one piece with my name on it. Nice gift!!

    Anna Nicole? Did you mean Nicole Brown Simpson? Anna Nicole Smith Overdosed. Anyway, I was going to say, I have one of the original SOG prototypes that they made for the SEALs. A guy from SEAL team 4 gave it to me when I was a medic in the Navy years ago. I super glued a gash on his palm from a Canadian Mist bottle. (Just ask and I'll tell you the whole story) He had (training) the next day and didn't want to go to the base ER and get an "alcohol related incident" He gave me the SOG knife and a Luminox watch. I tried to refuse, but he was like, "sh*t Doc, I'll just tell em' I lost it and they will issue me another."

    "Rostfrei" is German for stainless (literally free from rust). 12:14 14:30

    • @ivandamico93
      @ivandamico93 8 лет назад +1

      Many also say "inox" which is short for "inoxydable" in French , which also means "stainless steel", or "non-oxidizing", there is at least 13% chromium in the steel preventing iron from reacting with oxygen in the air , normally producing Iron OXide, or more commonly known as rust, so "in-oxidible", like "in-destructible", means it won't oxidize.
